CHAPTER 32

Damon

I clenched my fists until my claws made me bleed. Nothing more belitttling than the smirk on Darius face. He had the facial expression of an oppponent who just won the battle.

“I’ll get my revenge…Darius.” I muttered to myself. My wolf growled and  tried to transform out to move closer towards him, but I knew this will affect my true intention.  A few moments later, I took a deep sigh and gazed at Darius intently.

“My soldiers never get scared, they are only baffled with the drillings that’s all, even after we signed a peace treaty. Some might see this as a cowardly act of not fulfilling your oath. I’m sure your no oath-breaker. Right…Alpha Darius?”

There was a pin-drop silence across the room.  The smirk on darius’ face slowly transformed into sinister sneers and dark glazes. The whole demeanor of the room changed into an awkward environment. His council members who were preesent alongside their pack warriors’ protested in anger against my utterance.

Yet, I remained unfazed as I kept staring curiously at darius to see his next reation. He remained silent for several minutes before he finally replied.

“We have always fulfilled our oath and promises. There is nothing to worry about. "He said with a forced smile on his face. Even, when he smiled. He still looked terrifying.

Suddenly, there was a huge sigh of relief all around the throne room. It was as if, they were awaiting a signal from him. I titled my head slighty sideways to see Natasha gradually getting into a defensive stance.

“Stand down.” I whispered to her softly. She relunctly returned to her normal position behind me. We were outnumered. I decided not to come with all my warriors as this could be misintepreted. I only came with Natasha and Axel, my beta. Also, knowing Blaire has some loyal servants stationed around me, I have to be cautious of not revealing my motives mistakenly.

“Since it’s already nightfall, a royal suite will be arranged for you and your subjects to reside the night. I’m sure we’ll have more to discuss tomorrow.” Darius’ baritone voice quickly snapped me back.

“Thank you, Darius. On behalf of me and my staff, we appreciate your hospitality. I look forward to enjoying Silver Crest pack delights..” I had a mischeivous smile on my face as I nodded in gratitude.

Darius shot a glare at me before grudgingly standing up and moved towards his chambers. His council members stood up in unison as he departed.

A pang of jealousy washed over me to see how respected and loved darius got from his people. Within moments, they were ready to react because of a little snide remark. ‘They most truly love him. What is it about darius that draws people to him?’ I thought to myself. Meanwhile, Cameron walked up to me after escorting his Alpa out of the room.

“May I show you to your royal quarters, Alpha?” Cameron asked politely, He always sounded calm anytime he spoke, This made him fawned over all across the borders. He was always known for having a smiley face no matter his personal feelimgs which added to the myserious aura about him.

“Sure.” I nodded.I looked back to see the facial expression of natasha and axel. She remained emotionless. While, axel seemed to understand my wish. They moved behund me as we were escorted to the suite.

We were captivated from the moment cameron opened the door to our suite. It was filled with opaque decor, statues and art pieces. It was very spacious which sofas around a fireplace. A king-size bed that was clearly visible even from its distance from the door.

“Hope this meets upto your taste, Alpha?” Cameron asked with a facial expression filled with curiousity.

“It’s not bad, we can manage for the night.” I huffed out. Axel gasped in awe to my response, but I signaled to him covertly not to reveal our joy.

“That’s fine, There is a switch positioned close to the bed incase you might need any of the staffs in the palace.” Cameron nodded respectfully as he stepped out.

“Ask him now before he leaves.” I uttered to Axel, he nodded quickly and caught up with his fellow beta.

“Since we are staying, we ask to see Aurora tonight…to make sure she’s fine?” Axel gently asked. Cameron curved his lips slightly, but his eyes had a flicker of anger.

“As my Alpha already stated, right now everyone is to remain in their rooms for safety for now.Including her. However, I’ll ask the petrmission from my Alpha if she can to greet you before you leave tomorrow.” He replied with a grin on his face.

As I watched his retreating figure, it was obvious in my mind that darius didn’t want me to see aurora. This only increased the longing of both me and my wolf to meet her.

After he closed the door behind him. Axel approached me while Natasha sat on the sofas away from us.

“Whatever you need to do, make sure I see Aurora tomorrow. I must meet her before we leave.” I said to axel in her serious voice.

“Yes, Alpha I will do my best.” Axel nodded slightly as he also went to seat down.

I noticed there were also joint doors connected to my room.

“You caan both have the rooms joint to mine.” I jumped on the king-size bed. It was suprisingly soft as I laid down on it. It was so soft that my body sank into the mattress.

I just was about to close my eye,when blaire called. The momentarily excitement vanished immediately I heard Blaire’s voice.

We greeted casually before my subjects entered their respective rooms. Meanwhile, Axel and Natasha had already chosen what they wanted and walked inside their rooms seperately.

I took a deep sigh and dozed off as I continued dreaming of aurora as I slept off. Tommorrow seemed to be exciting thinking of what happens when we finally meet.
