Three days.

Three days later, Aurora laid down with her eyes shut tight. We summoned the best healers to check on her and revive her. Unfortunately, they all had the same conclusion.

“Right now, she’s in a heavy slumber. She’s the only person who can wake up by herself. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst,” the last healer said in a sympathetic tone. The message was clear. Aurora was the only one who could wake up or not. And there is nothing we can do to change it.

I clenched my fists till blood spilled out. I grunted in frustration at the various events that led to this moment. From the encounter they had with the rogues, months back in the marketplace. To this, in the forbidden cave, all the moment she was most vulnerable. However, I wasn’t there to protect her.

“It’s all my fault. Maybe it’s true. She was only taken in my pack.” I took a weary sigh at how accurate this deduction was.
