Nyra’s POV

Change

I went back to the lodge where others rejected mate are, the moment I stepped in there, people were looking at me

I sat down quieiy, thinking about what happened earlier in with Rowan

“How was it with alpha Rowan, did you satisfy him well”

I pretend not to hear, not wanting to give the answer or have that kind of chat with them

“Fresher, you have to answer us here. How was it? Did you get to satisfy him well”

My fingers tightened in my lap. I did not understand what they meant.

What were they talking about?

I kept my head down, hoping they would stop, but they didn’t A woman leaned forward, looking directly at me. Her eyes were sharp.

“This is not where to keep mute” she said slowly, “how was he?”

I blinked

“…How was who?” I asked quietly.

She smiled faintly like I was pretending.

“Don’t act innocent. You went to Alpha Rowan.”

My chest tightened

“I.. I did went but” started, but my voice was weak.

Another woman laughed softly.

“But? But what? You came back from his room, didn’t you?”

My body froze

I shook my head quickly.

“I just met him,” I said.

“That’s all.”

The hall went quiet for a second

Then someone else spoke from the side

A man sitting against the wall

“Everyone meets him and we understand clearly even if you won't talk ,” he said casually.

His tone was calm, like it was normal.

The woman beside him nodded

“Yes. That’s what we do here”

“When a transfer comes in, you all get assigned."

A chill went through me

My chest felt tight again.

Turn… So this was not something rare. Not something special.

It was normal here.

Before I could say anything else, the door of the hall opened

Everything stopped instantly, even a bit whispers disappeared, then one of the guard stepped in

His eyes moved across the room, then landed on me

“Nyra,” he called.

I stood up slowly. “Yes?”

His voice was calm but firm

“Alpha Rowan has given you a room. Come with me.”

For a moment, I thought I heard wrong, of?

A room?

The hall exploded instantly

“What?”

“A room?”

“That has never happened before!”

“All transfers stay here!”

"How much does she satisfy him, for her to be given a special room?"

Confusion filled the hall, even me personally

Even the ones who mocked me earlier were silent now

We walked through long corridors

The noise of the hall faded behind us

The air changed too.

Like everything here was controlled.

My thoughts kept spinning

A room… For me?

Why would I be different?

Finally, we stopped in front of a door

The guard opened it

“This is your room,” he said simply.

I stepped inside And I stopped.

The room was too beautiful, too clean, too quiet.

A large bed stood neatly in the center

Soft light filled the space gently

A table with water

Fresh clothes folded neatly

Everything looked prepared

Like someone had planned this carefully.

My fingers slowly touched the table it was real, even I didn’t live this kind of room in my house

But hmm, it didn’t feel real

I turned slightly

My chest was tight

“Why would I get this?” I whispered.

Before I could think more, the door opened again.

My body reacted instantly

I turned fast, alpha Rowan stepped in

The guard closed the door and left without a sound, now it was only him and me again.

I stood still, unsure what to do

Then I remembered.

“Thank you,” I said quickly.

My voice was soft.

He didn’t answer immediately, hee just looked at me, caalm and controlled.

Like nothing could move him.

Then he spoke.“I did it because my nephew hurt you.”

My fingers stiffened. I looked up slightly.

His expression did not change.

His voice stayed even. “Do not misunderstand anything.”

My throat tightened. “…Misunderstand?” I asked quietly

He continued. “This is not kindness.”

The words landed slowly inside me

He didn’t say them harshly. Just clearly, like a rule.

My gaze dropped again

Not kindness, not care. Just correction.

He turned slightly, then added coldly,

“Consider it correction. consider it as a payment for what Dante did"

My chest tightened.

Correction? That word stayed in my mind

I didn’t fully understand it but I understood enough.

This was not something given freely

It was something controlled.

Something measured.

My hands curled slightly

“I didn’t ask for any of this,” I said quietly.

My voice was small but honest.

“I didn’t ask for a room. I didn’t ask to be brought here.”

Silence

He looked at me for a moment longer

“You are not in a position to ask,” he said calmly

The words should have hurt

But instead, they felt like truth

Like my voice didn’t matter here

I lowered my eyes

Silence filled the room again.

“Do not think this changes anything, you are still the transfer rejected omega"

The door closed
