Chapter Three : New Rejected Mate

Her POV

I entered the room, it was a really big room, like an hall

I saw them, too many, so these are also the people that their mate reject, just like me, I am also joining them today

Some sat quietly, some were talking, and others acted like they had already earned their place

The moment they noticed me, all eyes were on me

A woman laughed first, “Someonejust joined us”

“The new rejected mate”

“Seems like she has cried so hard”

I lowered my gaze immediately.

My body still felt weak.

I didn’t want attention, but I already had it.

Someone shoved my shoulder, I stumbled and fell to the floor.

Laughter followed.

“Too weak,” someone said. “It’s better the know soon that this place is not for the weak”

My hands shook as I tried to get up, but my strength was still not fully back

Then... Knock

The sound disturbed everything, even the ones laughing stopped

A servant entered, and everyone head was lowered.

“Alpha Rowan is asking for you ”

Everyone suddenly became serious , no one said anything as if they are waiting for the servant to leave

One of the lady transfers whispered: “…He’s calling you.”

My stomach tightened.

“Tonight… it’s your turn.”

I didn’t understand

My voice barely came out

“Turn…?”

The woman who laughed earlier smiled faintly

“Its your turn to satisfy him".

“Satsfy him well, so staying here can be peaceful for you"

A tightness spread through my chest, I really don’t know exactly what’s going on

"Satisfy him?" I wisphered, "Am I cooking for him or something?"

I was pulled up again by the guards.

My legs barely worked as I was taken out of the hall

Rowan Scene

The door opened again, he was standing , waiting for me

Alpha Rowan,

His shirt was slightly open at the chest

His chest was broad and firm, the kind shaped by years of strength and discipline rather than show

The open part of his shirt revealed smooth, pale skin with subtle lines of muscle underneath, quiet power, not exaggerated

Like he did not care what was seen.

My eyes lowered immediately, I am not so sure of what to do

I could not hold his presence for long

“Come closer,” he said

I froze, my body moved slowly.

I didn’t want to, but I had no choice

I stopped in front of him

He studied me without emotion

“Your name.”

My voice was small.

“…Nyra. I am Nyra”

He nodded once

“Nyra, you know what to do? don't you?

My hands trembled

“I… I don't t.” Silence

Something changed in his eyes

“You are in my space,” he said coldly. “Be careful”

My chest felt tight

“I have never been… in a place like this before.”

He looked at me longer this time, as if he was just observing me

Then...

“Then learn quickly. Learn my rules from other, learn”

I flinched. “I will,” I whispered

“But… I don’t know what you expect from me.”

There was a pause, his expression didn’t change

“Do you know who I am?” he asked.

I shook my head slowly

My voice barely came out. “…Rowan.”

“That is not what I asked.Rowan? Is that what you call me?”

My throat tightened. “No, No!, I don’t know you”

Silence again, then he stepped closer, not touching me

Just close enough that I felt it

"Take off your clothes now, Nyra"

What did I just hear? To...take off?

I quickly kneel and beg

I... I can't, I just, I haven't done such before, I have never had sex before"

There's something about his look, is it shocked or what?

"Do you mean you are a virgin?"

"Yes, I am a virgin" I nodded sharply

“Take off your clothes now! I care less about it" My breathing shook

My eyes stayed down

I began to take it off, slowly with tears dripping off my eyes

His gaze shifted.

Noticing something.

“Look at me."I hesitated.

But I did, for a second then I looked away again

His expression changed slightly, this time, I think not out of anger but he’s focused

“What happened to you?” he asked

I froze, he saw the wounds on my body

I wanted to talk, my lips parted but I am finding it difficult to talk

“I…” My voice broke

“I… I don’t know how to explain…”

His tone sharpened.

“Speak now and make it clear! ”

My hands shook harder

“It was Dante…”

My chest felt tight for no reason

“He… The day he asked for sex and I did not give him… ” my voice cracked, “he got angry, punished me, and he hit..."

I couldn’t continue, my eyes were already getting burned

For the first time since I have been in this cold pallace of Rowan, I noticed, his expression shifted slightly

Not softness but something colder.

“Stop,” he said quietly. I froze immediately.

“Stop what?

He turned slightly, not toward me but toward the door

Then he spoke

“Wait here.”

My heart dropped

“Where are you going?” I whispered.

He didn’t answer immediately.

Then...

“I am coming back.”

And he left.

The room became completely quiet

My body shook. I began to put on my dress back

And I didn’t know what scared me more..

The man I just met…

Or the fact that he looked like someone who had just decided something irreversible.
