"Nothing." Nolan and I shouted out simultaneously. We shot each other quick glares before looking back at Raymond, faking smiles. He simply shook his head. "Weirdos." He spoke trudging up to the living room and collapsing on the couch. "What's for breakfast? Arg, my head is pounding. Could someone turn off the lights?" I gave my brother a deadpan look. "That's the sun, genius." He squinted and simply threw a pillow onto his head. All Raymond wore was a bath robe over his boxer shots. His blonde hair looked like a birds nest and by the dark circles around his eyes, I could tell none of his professors would be seeing him in class today. "Hey everyone." I saw Rose show up bounding down the stairs looking to be in a more cheery mood than all of us combined. She already had her backpack on ready for the day. Raymond dropped the pillow and to my surprise offered a wide grin at Rose. "Hey Rosie." He sung. Rose let out a nervous giggle and bumped into the wall close by. I flinched on her behalf. "Uh, hey Raymond." She mumbled almost incoherently. I furrowed my brows. Why the heck was my bestfriend acting so weird around my brother of all people? Raymond sat up straight and offered a wider grin at her. "Thanks for taking care of me last night. Couldn't have gotten home without you." He winked. I mentally gagged. "Okay enough of that." I told him in disgust. "Rose, I'll meet you in the car." I told her as I grabbed my car keys and tossed them at her. Unlike my brother and Nolan, Rose had the hand eye coordination of a panda so she ended up fumbling with the keys and they fell right onto the floor. Her face was almost the same shade of red as her hair as she bent over to pick everything up. Unfortunately for her, gravity wasn't on her side either so her books also came tumbling out of her backpack. Rose looked damn near like a tomato now as she gathered everything up and scurried off. I turned to Raymond who just looked amused. "Really?" "What?" He asked innocently. "No flirting with my best friend." I snapped at him. Rose was literally my only friend since highschool who had always been immune to my brother's charms. Hence my only real friend. Everyone else who tried to befriend me always did it to get close to Raymond. "Never noticed how cute she is." Raymond spoke. I gagged. "Don't you dare. Besides, Rose is too smart to be seduced by the likes of you anyway." Raymond rolled his eyes. "Whatever Sav." He whipped out his phone. "Yo, Nolan, we're hosting a party here tonight. Are you inviting Nicole?" My head whipped to Nolan immediately remembering our kiss. I found his eyes already on me and I looked away quickly. "Nah." Nolan spoke breezily leaning against the island. "I already told you man, we broke up." "But she's smoking hot." Raymomd argued. "And psychotic." Nolan added without missing a beat. "She almost set my car on fire." "Well you know what they say about the crazy ones in the sheets..." "Okay gross." I spoke up stepping forward. "And by the way, no one is having a party here tonight. Especially after what happened yesterday." I spoke. Raymond scoffed. "Okay, mum." I turned to glare at him. "I'm serious, Ray. Living with you two is literally every girls nightmare." "Funny, that's not what most girls on campus say." Nolan spoke. He walked over to Raymond and they fist bumped like he had said something even remotely intelligent. I stared at them blankly. "I'm serious. You two drive me crazy with the girls, the parties, the drinking... for goodness sake I have to clean up after you and buy groceries! You actually do treat me like your mummy and I'm sick of it!" This time there were no jokes from either of them. "Geez, Sav, breathe." Raymond spoke. "It's not that bad." "Yes it is!" I screamed. I realised how loud that had been and tried to calm myself down but dammit, I hadn't realised how much I had reached my breaking point. "College isn't supposed to be like highschool. For once I want to live my life and not live in your shadows. So if you two don't get your act together? I swear I'm moving out." With that, I spun around ans stormed out.I flipped through my Anatomy text book trying to ignore Rose's happy humming as she sketched the outline of a dog's heart labelling it from memory. We were both pre veterinary medicine students so we had almost all the same classes.I looked at Rose and her notebook and noticed her drawing actual hearts around the heart. Ironic, right?"Earth to Rosie." I snapped. She jumped with a start and seemed to realise what she had done. She shut her notebook quickly and smiled at me."What's up?" She asked, a tinge of nervousness in her voice. When it came to academics, Rose was almost if not more focused than I was. Which was saying a lot. I think that's why we got along so well, because we had both been the girls in high school who always had their noses burried in books.“Are you okay?" I asked straight up. "I mean you've been acting weird since this morning."Rose shrugged. "A okay."I sighed. "Rose, I hope my brother didn't try to flirt with you last night."Judging by how flustered Rose

I woke up with my fingers tracing my lips. Every bit of my body tingled in a way I wish it wouldn't. The same question kept haunting my mind and pounding through like an annoying alarm. Did that just really happen? I was plunged out of my reverie when I heard a groan beside me. I turned and saw Rose let out a yawn as she got up from where she was laying beside me in my bed. I saw her blink the sleep out of her pretty green eyes before reaching over to grab her glasses. "What time is it?" "Late." Is all I respond huffing in frustration when I see it's already 10.am. Rose and I had planned to utilise our Saturday and study like our lives depended on it. But our flashcards sat under utilised on my desk in a sad pile. "Sorry about last night, Rose." I told her. After Nolan kissed me, still can't believe that happened... Raymond showed up drunk out of his mind with his jersey number painted on his chest barely able to walk. Luckily Nolan had been sober enough to help m
Things have always been this way, my older brother Raymond makes a mess and good old Savannah is expected to swoop in and clean it up. Ever since we were born, it has practically been written in stone, my twin brother would always be my problem. He would be the trouble maker he was born to be and I would have to be the good sibling who would have to suffer the consequences alongside him. Whether I liked it or not. Having Raymond as a twin brother was basically like being born with an irresponsible forever man child I never even asked for. Take tonight for instance. I'm supposed to be in my PJs, going through flash cards for my Zoology midterm on Monday with my bestfriend. But instead, I'm cruising down the streets heading over to campus because my stupid brother and his even stupider best friend went to a frat party of their own accord and got too drunk to drive back home on their own. So guess who has to pick them up? Ding, ding, ding, Savannah is the lucky winner. "Uh
