The same question kept haunting my mind and pounding through like an annoying alarm. Did that just really happen? I was plunged out of my reverie when I heard a groan beside me. I turned and saw Rose let out a yawn as she got up from where she was laying beside me in my bed. I saw her blink the sleep out of her pretty green eyes before reaching over to grab her glasses. "What time is it?" "Late." Is all I respond huffing in frustration when I see it's already 10.am. Rose and I had planned to utilise our Saturday and study like our lives depended on it. But our flashcards sat under utilised on my desk in a sad pile. "Sorry about last night, Rose." I told her. After Nolan kissed me, still can't believe that happened... Raymond showed up drunk out of his mind with his jersey number painted on his chest barely able to walk. Luckily Nolan had been sober enough to help me find his keys, in awkward silence of course while Rose had been stuck with the chore of babysitting Raymond so that he didn't do anything more stupid. "It's ok." Rose spoke as she stretched her arms. "It wasn't too bad." I scoffed. "Please, you don't have to pretend my brother and Nolan aren't the most annoying people in the world." Rose shrugged. "They're not so bad. Hey, I'm gonna go take a shower and get ready for class." She spoke. I couldn't blame Rose for having nothing to say about those two devils. She had always been too sweet for her own good. My growling stomach made me get out of bed and walk to the kitchen of our apartment. It had been a graduation gift from my mum to Raymond when we graduated and she happened to realise she has another child who she graciously let live here with him. Note the sarcasm. I opened the fridge and grabbed a carton of milk hoping to make some cereal. Surprise, surprise, empty. Gosh I hated living with these boys. "Hey Sav." I jumped and turned around facing Nolan. Oh my goodness, I could practically feel my face turning red just at the sight of him. "Uhm, hey. How uh... how are you tjis fine... uh... morning?" I couldn't believe how stupid and awkward I sounded. For goodness sake, get it together Savannah. Nolah was holding a water bottle and was in his workout gear. A clear indication that he had just returned from the gym. That and the swear dripping down his hot, muscular body. Stop it Savannah! I chastisised myself. "Why are you acting weird? Is it that time of the month?" Nolan teased laughing at his own joke as he walked up tp the fruit basket to grab an apple. Was he serious right now? I turned, my eyes following him as he bit into the grannysmith and settled down at the island. Oh my goodness, he totally planned on acting like last night never happened. Well, I wasn't going to let him. I folded my arms across my chest and marched up to stand across from him. Nolan paused from taking another bite and raised his full sexy brows. I mean... just his eyebrows. Totally normal not attractive eyebrows. "What?" Nolan asked. I slapped my palm on the counter. "You kissed me last night jerk!" Nolan's eyes suddenly shot open. He dropped the apple and quickly rose holding his hands up. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, would you keep it down?" He glanced nervously up the stairs where Raymond's room was. So he did remember. Nolan ran a hand down his face. "First of all, you kissed me back." He pointed at me im accusation. I gasped. "I did not!" He let out a scoff and that charming grin of his took over his face. "Oh yeah, so that wasn't your tongue I felt in my..." "Shut up!" I quickly interrupted him feeling my face burn up. Nolan leaned back looking amused. "I already explained why I did it. Why are you bringing it up baby Ray?" He suddenly took a step closer. "Don't tell me, perfect and polished Savannah Jones actually enjoyed kissing little old me?" I wished the ground would just open up and swallow me whole at this point with how flustered I was getting. Never mind that I had harboured a secret crush on Nolan almost all my life. A crush that didn't mean anything of course because he was my brother's best friend and not to mentiom the superstar quarterback who literally every girl wanted in her bed. Why would he want me someone like me? "Of course not!" I snapped. I stuck my chin up. "I would never enjoy kissing you. I don't know what diseases you might have from all those girls you screw every week." Nolan actually looked slightly offended but he covered it up by letting out a scoff. "Trust me, baby Jones, I only kissed you because you were the closest person to me. Quite frankly, you're not my type. I actually like a girl who can loosen up once in a while and not always be a stick in the mad." My mouth dropped but I quickly recovered trying to mask my embarassment. Did he just call me uptight? I dropped my hands to my sides. "Whatever Charlestone. Just make sure it never happens again." I snapped. "Consider it erased from my mind." He spoke smoothly. Nolan paused for a second. "And obviously Raymond can never find out about this." I stilled. Of course he couldn't. My brother might have been a jerk but he had always been an overprotective jerk. If he knew his trusted best friend had kissed his little sister, we would both be dead. "Find out about what?" Both Nolan and I jumped as we spun around and saw none other than Raymond by the stairs.I flipped through my Anatomy text book trying to ignore Rose's happy humming as she sketched the outline of a dog's heart labelling it from memory. We were both pre veterinary medicine students so we had almost all the same classes.I looked at Rose and her notebook and noticed her drawing actual hearts around the heart. Ironic, right?"Earth to Rosie." I snapped. She jumped with a start and seemed to realise what she had done. She shut her notebook quickly and smiled at me."What's up?" She asked, a tinge of nervousness in her voice. When it came to academics, Rose was almost if not more focused than I was. Which was saying a lot. I think that's why we got along so well, because we had both been the girls in high school who always had their noses burried in books.“Are you okay?" I asked straight up. "I mean you've been acting weird since this morning."Rose shrugged. "A okay."I sighed. "Rose, I hope my brother didn't try to flirt with you last night."Judging by how flustered Rose
Both Nolan and I tensed up and turned to see Raymond looking at us in confusion. "Nothing." Nolan and I shouted out simultaneously. We shot each other quick glares before looking back at Raymond, faking smiles. He simply shook his head. "Weirdos." He spoke trudging up to the living room and collapsing on the couch. "What's for breakfast? Arg, my head is pounding. Could someone turn off the lights?" I gave my brother a deadpan look. "That's the sun, genius." He squinted and simply threw a pillow onto his head. All Raymond wore was a bath robe over his boxer shots. His blonde hair looked like a birds nest and by the dark circles around his eyes, I could tell none of his professors would be seeing him in class today. "Hey everyone." I saw Rose show up bounding down the stairs looking to be in a more cheery mood than all of us combined. She already had her backpack on ready for the day. Raymond dropped the pillow and to my surprise offered a wide grin at Rose. "Hey R

Things have always been this way, my older brother Raymond makes a mess and good old Savannah is expected to swoop in and clean it up. Ever since we were born, it has practically been written in stone, my twin brother would always be my problem. He would be the trouble maker he was born to be and I would have to be the good sibling who would have to suffer the consequences alongside him. Whether I liked it or not. Having Raymond as a twin brother was basically like being born with an irresponsible forever man child I never even asked for. Take tonight for instance. I'm supposed to be in my PJs, going through flash cards for my Zoology midterm on Monday with my bestfriend. But instead, I'm cruising down the streets heading over to campus because my stupid brother and his even stupider best friend went to a frat party of their own accord and got too drunk to drive back home on their own. So guess who has to pick them up? Ding, ding, ding, Savannah is the lucky winner. "Uh
