Mira had always known that no one was meant to live forever.
Even Immortals, those from the supernatural world. As a Blessed Hybrid, she knew that a day would come when all her worries, suffering and torment would be over. She imagined that it would all come down to losing control of her source of energy, or violence.
Never did she ever believe that she had a shot at love.
At finding her mate...
Her fated one...
And a big part of her didn't want to.
She didn't want to be a burden to her mate, or those around her. So, for many years, she believed she was better off alone with her loving father at her side.
Until she felt drawn to Alpha Bastion and she is yet to decide whether she wants to hang about and find out if they are mates or to venture out into a world she is yet to see.
---
As the reddish-tinged moon rose in the sky, the temperature in the room dropped. Mira, who had been held hostage for two consecutive days in her mind, was gently roused from her slumber by a chilly breeze that entered the room via the window that had been left ajar.
The source of energy that left her chest like a beam of light really took its toll on her body. She was yet to wake up and realise that she has been locked up in the spare room of the packhouse that belonged to Alpha Bastion. So he could have the leisure in questioning her with nowhere for her run.
FURTHERMORE, She would never know that the cold Alpha whose wolf was clawing at his chest, scaring his fucking soul, and who refused to believe that she was his mate. Sat in the corner of the room in the dusty old recliner, and watched her sleep most of the night on the hard frigid floor.
A throaty groan exited her lips as she pulled herself off the hard floor with her hand over her head. Her mind was foggy and her eyes were glassy from the yawn that departed her lips.
As she got to her feet, she staggered for a bit, then she found her footing, and raised her head to see where she was because she knew she wasn't in the tree she was forced to sleep in the night she was exiled from Midnight Pack territory.
She sighed, "Where the fuck am I now?" She questioned herself as she waited for the fog in her head to lift.
Wasting no time, she walked towards the door, turned the handle and cursed under her breath when she realised it was locked. She started to panic, giggling at the handle as she kicked the thick wooden slabbed door trying her best to pull it open.
"Hello!!" She called out at the top of her lungs. "Is anybody there?"
She was met with silence and it was the silence that frightened her the most for she didn't know where she was or if she had been left in the room deliberately by a slave huntress. She was still too weak to even bother thinking about drawing from her source of energy.
Letting go of the handle, she stammered towards the window that was left ajar and used the last ounce of strength she had to push it up. She leaned over the ledge of the window and quickly realised she wasn't on the first floor. But she had a feeling that if she jumped, she would be okay and she can make a getaway without anybody realising she had escaped until it was too late.
She lowered her right leg through the window's hollow frame while pressing her back against the frame. She then rotated slightly, hanging onto the window ledge with one hand, and slid her second leg, followed by the rest of her body, through the window. All the while she was hyperventilating and had her eyes squeezed shut.
The cool air whipped across her face, blowing through her red hair as she squinted, and took in her surroundings, never letting go of the window frame. She drew in a sharp breath, and let go of the wooden frame, standing upright and she walked to the edge of the gutter, peering downwards.
"It's now or never Mira." She spoke out loud, amping herself up.
She counted to three in her head and made the jump. landing on her hands and feet, she lifted her hand to her mouth, kissed her fingertips and held it above her head. "Thank you..." She whispered, pushing off the ground, she started to run.
She didn't have a clue where she was going, and she couldn't give two hoots as long she made it away safely.
"Shit!!" She cried out as she rounded the barn that was stationed by the woods.
To her surprise, there was a campfire blazing and many people circled around it. She pressed her body flush against the barn, reaching up to touch the pendant around her neck. Her heart dropped into her stomach and she bowed her head to find the pendant was gone.
"What the fuck..." Her voice quivered as she looked back the way she came and contemplated going back to the house to find it.
But this notion rapidly lost its appeal as she heard footsteps and crunching leaves in front of her. She stood there seeing two young men being dragged through the muddy ground by two big black-furred wolves with their fangs sunken deep into their shoulders.
The men clawed hopelessly, pleaded, wailed, and attempted to sink their heels into the earth as a kind of resistance. The wolves shook their heads, tossing the men around as if they were rag dolls with a growl emanating from their jaws.
There wasn't a whiff of compassion that wafted through the breeze that was encircling them. Instead, they all looked on and cheered the wolves on as they walked into the circle, tossing the men to the ground.
The men struggled to their feet, unable to shift into their wolves because they were too weak and battered. Mira could not look away despite her desire to do so. This was how it was... Their way, and she was curious to discover what in the hell was going on.
The two large black wolves cocked their heads back, their noses tipped up towards the moon and they started to howl.
The two battered men tried to break through the circle but they were pushed back inside of it.
The applauding, pleas of mercy, and howling wolves abruptly ceased, and a small gap appeared in the circle, allowing Alpha Bastion to enter.
Topless, barefoot with only a pair of washed-out denim jeans on. He stood tall with his strong hands at his sides.
"NO!! Please, show my boys some mercy!"
Mira's attention switched from the Alpha to the elderly man she had rescued from the woods. The elderly man fell to his knees, pleading for the lives of his sons while seeming utterly defenceless and heartbroken.
"Your sons have committed murder, Mr Travis." The Alpha openly declared in a firm tone that held no remorse what so forever for him. "There were two humans in the bar that night, and it is our responsibility to protect them. Not put them in harm's way just to be spiteful like your mongrel sons here."
"No.... please Alpha Bastion..." Mr Travis begged once again. "They are all I have left of their mother."
Mira felt empathy for the elderly man. However, she understood why the Alpha had ordered the execution of Mr Travis' sons. The rule of law must prevail, and it must be carried out by the pack. Sympathy did not taint her soul as she stood there watching.
She realised she had to move quickly before someone spotted her. She turned around and, regrettably, stepped into Beta Daniels' muscular chest, running her fingers through her red hair.
"Going somewhere, rogue?" He muttered with distaste as he took her by the upper arm and started to drag her towards the circle.
She fought against him, clawing at the Beta's hand with her sharp nails, but he did not flinch and her motions had no effect on him.
"The Alpha has been waiting for you to wake up." He sneered as he peered down at her. "I can't wait to see what punishment he has installed for you."
"Fuck you and your Alpha!" She spat out bitterly.
The Beta scoffed at her, "Not in this lifetime or any other." Just as he pushed her into the circle, he murmured in her ear, and she fell at the feet of the Alpha.

I closed the door to the kids' room after making sure that they were sound asleep. It didn't take very long for them to dose off as it had been a long day in the sun, and an even longer night with the activities that had been organised. I slowly crept away from their room and went to find Bastion in his makeshift office.I entered without knocking knowing that he could sense me before he saw me. He was staring out the window with his hands tucked inside his pockets, he turned around to face me as I locked the door with a soft click sweeping through the office, and I made my way to the sofa. "Have you come for a tour?" He asked acidly as he arched his brows and I started to laugh. "I'm glad you find it fucking funny!" He walked towards me. "You know what Elsa says: Let it go," I say referring to the Frozen movie as I roll my eyes heavenward and stand up.Our gazes collided, mine was full of laughter, his was blazing with anger, and his gaze stripped me bare as his scent assaulted my
MIRAS POINT OF VIEW...The moon shone brilliantly casting its silver rays on the sea as its waves crashed against the shoreline. My gaze trailed up to the horizon to see a flock of seagulls flying in the air above us. I didn't need to see them in my dreams to realise how rich I am at heart. Their violent caws resonated through the atmosphere, making their presence known.I felt the light air dance upon my skin and sweep through my hair as I dug my toes into the cool sand, feeling the grains beneath my feet. It was almost therapeutic in an odd way.Tonight wasn't particularly quiet as there was a bonfire at the beach resort we had hired out for our pack getaway. It was an avenue for everyone to socialize and get away for a bit to simply relax and enjoy the sun. "You know, I told Zeb that I thought it would be a great idea if you all come to Morzovia during the xmas break," Clohe said as she sat next to me and rubbed her ballooning belly. "Earth is great, but it is nothing like Morzovi
It has been five weeks since the war that happened with Midnight Pack, Cloves sacrifice and the sudden birth of Alpha Bastion and Alpha Miras' pup. Mira had spent the first week locked up in their room grieving. She would only come out to eat after Alpha Bastion insisted that she join their combining packs for dinner. She needed to eat so she could breastfeed their pup.At one point, she thought she was slipping into a state of depression, everytime she looked at her daughter whom they named, Emara, she felt absolutely nothing towards her. Not an ounce of love or disdain caressed her heart and she started to question herself if she was broken inside. In less than a year, she had lost both of her parents and found herself along the way and establish a family that she loved to bits. One day three weeks ago, she got out of bed early, had a shower, bathed Emara, wrapped her little bundle of joy up in a blanket, and took her sightseeing around their territory. The spring breeze swept a
After Mira had pushed out the placenta, Clove took the liberty to cut the umbilical cord herself. She looked at both Mira and Alpha Bastion. They were both distraught, dealing with their emotions differently. Mira sat on the bed, covered in sweat and she stared straight ahead with a blank look on her face. Alpha Bastion, stared at his lifeless pup in utter shock, his eyes glowed with glassy crimson rings. He opened his mouth to say something but quickly closed it as he couldn't find the right words to say how he was feeling. But he did know that a large part of his heart shrivelled up and died. What was supposed to be a joyous moment, wasn't. He felt lost and blamed himself for not making sure the river was guarded every night since Daniel was exiled. But he wasn't to know that Daniel would become allies with Siren and her pack of bloodthirsty leeches, who then would cross the river and turn his life upside down! The smell of death hung heavy not only in the room but within Pack M
She watched as he ran as fast as he could through the wet meadow with her daughter and granddaughter in his arms. Those who rushed toward them, she flung across the meadow with a flick of her wrist. "Siren is dead." She hummed in a sing-song voice as she targeted her voice toward the Midnight Pack Warriors who refused to surrender. "The Corbette twins are dead too. If you want to live, I suggest you leave Pack Moon Stone immediately without a second glance or you will suffer miserably," She warned them in a foreboding tone that felt like a dozen needles piercing their eardrums.Almost abruptly, those that had shifted into their wolf form waited for the ones that were still in their human form to jump on their backs, and they ran through the wall of trees that led them back to the river they crossed. In the distance, she could hear her daughter writhing, panting and groaning in agony. She placed a trembling hand over her chest and looked up at the heavens where the Moon still sat hig
"NO!!!!" Jagger growled as he rushed toward Mira and he stepped in front of her.He used his body to shield hers and by doing so, Tober drove the blade of the sword through his back where it pierced his lung.Mira watched in shock as Tober withdrew the sword, blood splattered across her face and she caught Jagger in her arms, slowly collapsing onto the grass with him. "Why?" She asked him in a hushed tone that was filled with uncertainty. Jagger coughed, he lifted his hand to wipe the specks of blood that stained her brow away, and he managed to form a smile on one corner of his mouth."Because you don't deserve to die," he gasped for air. "You and your father... me and Tober... bad blood, innocence... I didn't know... You deserve to be happy," he breathed out erratically.Tears welled up in Miras' eyes. She knew there was a reason why she liked him, his soul was gentle but it was the kindness in his eyes every time they collided with hers that allowed her to let her guard down aro
