After Mira had pushed out the placenta, Clove took the liberty to cut the umbilical cord herself. She looked at both Mira and Alpha Bastion.

They were both distraught, dealing with their emotions differently. Mira sat on the bed, covered in sweat and she stared straight ahead with a blank look on her face.

Alpha Bastion, stared at his lifeless pup in utter shock, his eyes glowed with glassy crimson rings. He opened his mouth to say something but quickly closed it as he couldn't find the right words to say how he was feeling.

But he did know that a large part of his heart shrivelled up and died. What was supposed to be a joyous moment, wasn't. He felt lost and blamed himself for not making sure the river was guarded every night since Daniel was exiled.

But he wasn't to know that Daniel would become allies with Siren and her pack of bloodthirsty leeches, who then would cross the river and turn his life upside down!
