I heard the door slam shut and I looked up at the time. It was 2 a.m. Rubbing the stubble that had grown in, I stretched in my chair and headed out of the office. All four of us pulled into The Wayward Tap’s parking lot. The front door was propped open and the biggest of the three rogues was leaning against the outside of the building, smoking. All of us backed up to the door so we could easily load the alcohol in. I got out, followed by the rest of the guys. Nate bounded up to the rogue, chatting with him. *** Nate’s POV ***It took two days to clean up after that shifting party. Between the pack and the mess that was left, we were still finding bottles in the weirdest places. Today though was getting back to work. I had been in my office most of the day and that was unusual for me. Morning training went well and I had showered, only to go straight into the office.Silas had approved the new building and budget for it, which meant that it was now passed to me. The architects and builders had sent me over the plans which I was combing through now. I also was using a transfer sheet to start how the rooms would be laid out once they were built. It was a serious undertaking but I enjoyed it. Something about setting up an entire place, whether it be a house, office building, even restaurant. It just scratched an itch that I enjoyed doing. I peeled my eyes open as the sun streamed through my windows. Last night I hadn’t closed my curtains so now the sun shined right though onto my bed. Stretching, my muscles felt like they had been wound too tight. The whole of my body cracked from neck to knees as well. We definitely did too much yesterday. Driving down the road, I planned on heading to the place we played pool at but I found myself pulling into The Wayward Tap. There were a few cars and even a motorcycle parked next to Solaris’ ride.Opening the door, I looked around. There were a couple of booths being taken up by some college kids, a group of old men huddled in the corner playing a game of cards, and an older gentleman sitting at the bar. Solaris was cleaning a glass, talking with the gentleman at the bar. *** Solaris POV ***My eyes narrowed as I looked at the slight movement in the corner of my eyes. It scurried along the floor and just as it went to run by me, I stepped on it. The crunch was loud but set down the crate I was carrying to inspect the now dead insect. It was a cockroach, full grown. Not only was it not the season for them but Finn and I went to great lengths to make sure this place was bug free. It was one of Noah’s greatest fears and really his only one. Finn was still giggling in the corner as he stretched. I stripped down naked before shifting into my wolf form. It was becoming more and more painful to shift. It was harder for my body to shift back and forth and even causing me to bleed sometimes when I shifted back. The two boys looked at me concerned but once fully shifted, I felt better. It was also the only time I was larger than the guys. My wolf was ridiculously large. Between my past, the monster I had become, and the power I inherited after, my wolf was ridiculously huge and strong. The two metal limbs shifting easily with me and still glowing their bright blue, I looked absolutely crazy. It was just at a significantly larger scale. Once the boys shifted, we each took a bag in our mouths and they chased after me. I headed East into the forest, skirting the edge of Silas’ territory. If anyone would like their own shot of Monte Alban Mezcal, it’s on the house tonight!” Finn yelled as someone started up the music in the corner and started the Friday night swing early. Quite a few more people showed up and soon enough the place was packed. Finn and I manned the bar as Noah lost it after five minutes. The tequila hit and his eyes glazed over. His shirt at some point had become a crop top as he joined the dancing group, going so far as climbing up on a table. Then promptly falling off it after a bunch of people put cash in the top of his jeans. I laughed so hard at his antics and even Charles stayed later than normal to enjoy the show. “You guys are going to have so much against him.”I handed Charles another beer and pointed up to the two camera in the room. “Damn right we will.
