"But you never acted like a mother. You played with my head," I said, my voice tight with hurt. "One moment you told me you loved me and believed in me… and the next, you treated me like the rest of the pack—like you hated me."

Her head dropped in shame.

I know I’ve always said I’m a forgiving person—but they were my family. What they did broke me, physically and emotionally.

I walked up to Rosy and smiled gently as I took Rosalina from her arms. She was still crying, but the moment I turned and handed her to Xavier, she instantly calmed down, resting her head on his shoulder with a soft sigh.

“I’ll be in our room,” he said, kissing my forehead before heading upstairs with her in his arms.

I watched as my parents left the pack house—my mother weeping in my father’s arms, and Rosy and Ryder standing off to the side, whispering to each other.
