Chapter 19

Samantha's pregnancy reached its final stages. She enjoyed the last days of her pregnancy because there was no threat from anywhere or anybody. She cherished the peacefull environment that surrounded her, but she couldn't wait to see the face of the life she has been carrying for some months now.

One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon. Samantha noticed a change in her body. She was sitting by the window, looking out at the peacefull landscape when a slight pain came through her abdomen. Her hands immediately rested on her rounded belly.

The discomfort she felt wasn't much, but it was persistent. Samantha had been prepared for this moment and knew that the time had come. She rose from her seat and made her way to the small room where Jack was working on a wooden crib for her baby.

Breathing deeply to manage the subtle pain, Samantha stood in the doorway, watching Jack's skilled hands shaping the wood. She waited for a pause in his work before trying to speak.
