Grey's POV

I let out a slow breath, a grin tugging at the corner of my mouth beneath my helmet.

Did this idiot really think pointing a gun at me would do anything?

I reached up and slowly pulled off my helmet. Cold night air hit my face, carrying the smell of gasoline and burnt rubber. I ran a hand through my hair before lifting my eyes to him.

Beside him, Amelia froze. She sucked in a sharp breath and her eyes went wide, all the color draining from her face.

She clearly hadn't expected to see

Amelia's POVI opened my mouth to answer, but the words caught in my throat.Grey had no idea I had once been married to Matthew. If I told him I was upset because Matthew's father, Mr. Rodriguez, had died, there would be questions. How did I know him?Why did his death affect me so much? And most importantly, why had I been at the airport when he died?I wasn't ready to tell Grey about that part of my past. Not yet.So, I reached for the easiest lie.“A friend of mine passed away.” My voice came out rough, and I cleared my throat. “I'm just sad because… it's been a long time since I last saw her.”Grey's expression softened immediately.“You must have been really close to her for her death to hurt you this much.” There was genuine pity in his eyes. “I'm sorry for your loss.”“It's fine.” I forced the corners of my lips upward, hoping the smile looked convincing. “I just… hoped she died happily.”The words left a strange heaviness between us.Grey studied me for a moment, as if he cou

~~Amelia~~For the next few days, I tried so hard to concentrate on work, but I just couldn't.Matthew's father was dead.Mr. Rodriguez had been the only person who treated me with kindness when I was still living in Rodriguez Manor. And now, I was never going to see him again.Whenever the tears threatened to fall, I'd excuse myself and hurry to the toilet. I'd lock myself inside a cubicle, cover my mouth with my hand, and cry as quietly as I could. When I was done, I'd wash my face with cold water, dab my cheeks with tissue, and stare at my reflection until my eyes no longer looked so red. Then I'd return to work and pretend nothing had happened.Grey seemed to notice that something was wrong. He'd called me several times, asking what was going on, but I kept brushing him off with excuses. Sometimes, I'd tell him I was having a bad mood swing. Other times, I'd say I wasn't feeling well.I didn't know how to explain it to him. That my ex's father was dead. He didn't even know Matthew

Amelia's POV We stayed like that for almost five minutes before he finally murmured against my hair, his voice softer than I'd expected.“Should I put you down?”“Yes.” I nodded, letting out a slow breath as reality started creeping back in.He lowered me carefully until my feet touched the floor, and for a moment, neither of us moved. We stood there facing each other, both completely exposed, and I couldn't help wondering how the hell I'd ended up here.A small, disbelieving smile tugged at my lips.I'd actually let him get this close to me.After everything I'd told myself, after all those times I'd sworn I didn't need him, I'd somehow ended up right back in his arms.“Did you enjoy it?” he asked, running a hand through his hair and pushing it away from his face.“Yes.” I nodded once before turning away to gather my clothes from the floor. “But that doesn't mean I'm coming back to work for you, Grey.”“At least there's an improvement.”I glanced over my shoulder.“What improvement?

Amelia's POV I knew this wasn't right for me. But the hunger inside me had already silenced every warning in my head.“Grey,” I begged, voice breaking. “Please… fuck me. I need you to fuck me.”He didn’t answer with words.Instead he dropped to his knees between my spread thighs like the floor was the only place he belonged. His hands gripped the backs of my knees and yanked me forward until my ass was barely on the edge of the table. The cold wood bit into my skin. I didn’t care.He hooked two fingers under the soaked crotch of my panties and dragged them to the side. The cool air hit my dripping cunt and I whimpered, hips twitching.“Look at this,” he rasped, staring straight at me. “Soaked. Fucking dripping down your thighs already.”Then his mouth was on me.Hot. Wet. Filthy. He licked a long, slow stripe from my entrance all the way up to my clit and I screamed. The sound tore out of me before I could stop it. His tongue flattened against the swollen little nub and sucked hard,

Amelia's POV I didn't understand why he wasn't giving up. No one was forcing him to keep me as his secretary, so why the hell couldn't he just leave me alone? Was this all because of his guilty conscience?I certainly hadn't expected him to leave work and come looking for me.So when I opened the door and found him standing there with a bouquet of flowers in one hand and an expression that made it painfully obvious he'd missed me, something inside me almost gave way.For one stupid second, I forgot why I was angry. Then reality came rushing back.I was dealing with the president of a biker club, a man who was used to getting what he wanted. There was no way in hell I was letting him step inside my apartment and make things even more complicated.“You want me to leave?” he asked, his expression turning completely serious.God, those eyes. They stayed on mine like he was trying to see straight through every excuse I'd prepared, and I had to fight the urge to look away. Why couldn't he

Grey's POVSomething in my gut told me Amelia wouldn't show up to work the next day. And, just like I had expected, she didn't.I waited until midday, pretending I wasn't waiting at all. Every time the elevator doors opened, my eyes drifted toward them before I could stop myself. Every time footsteps passed my office, I looked up, half-expecting to see her walking toward her desk with that stubborn look on her face. But she never came.I told myself she had finally made up her mind about resigning, and that should have made things easier. Instead, it felt like someone had taken a piece of my routine and left an annoying fucking hole where it used to be.I tried like hell to concentrate on work, but my attention wouldn't stay where it belonged. I would type for five minutes, then glance toward her empty desk. I'd read the same paragraph twice and realize I hadn't absorbed a damn word. Her chair sat there, pushed neatly beneath the desk, as if she had only stepped away for a few minutes
