Grey's POV

Something in my gut told me Amelia wouldn't show up to work the next day.

And, just like I had expected, she didn't.

I waited until midday, pretending I wasn't waiting at all. Every time the elevator doors opened, my eyes drifted toward them before I could stop myself. Every time footsteps passed my office, I looked up, half-expecting to see her walking toward her desk with that stubborn look on her face.

But she never came.

I told myself she had finally made up her mind about resign

Amelia's POV We stayed like that for almost five minutes before he finally murmured against my hair, his voice softer than I'd expected.“Should I put you down?”“Yes.” I nodded, letting out a slow breath as reality started creeping back in.He lowered me carefully until my feet touched the floor, and for a moment, neither of us moved. We stood there facing each other, both completely exposed, and I couldn't help wondering how the hell I'd ended up here.A small, disbelieving smile tugged at my lips.I'd actually let him get this close to me.After everything I'd told myself, after all those times I'd sworn I didn't need him, I'd somehow ended up right back in his arms.“Did you enjoy it?” he asked, running a hand through his hair and pushing it away from his face.“Yes.” I nodded once before turning away to gather my clothes from the floor. “But that doesn't mean I'm coming back to work for you, Grey.”“At least there's an improvement.”I glanced over my shoulder.“What improvement?

Amelia's POV I knew this wasn't right for me. But the hunger inside me had already silenced every warning in my head.“Grey,” I begged, voice breaking. “Please… fuck me. I need you to fuck me.”He didn’t answer with words.Instead he dropped to his knees between my spread thighs like the floor was the only place he belonged. His hands gripped the backs of my knees and yanked me forward until my ass was barely on the edge of the table. The cold wood bit into my skin. I didn’t care.He hooked two fingers under the soaked crotch of my panties and dragged them to the side. The cool air hit my dripping cunt and I whimpered, hips twitching.“Look at this,” he rasped, staring straight at me. “Soaked. Fucking dripping down your thighs already.”Then his mouth was on me.Hot. Wet. Filthy. He licked a long, slow stripe from my entrance all the way up to my clit and I screamed. The sound tore out of me before I could stop it. His tongue flattened against the swollen little nub and sucked hard,

Amelia's POV I didn't understand why he wasn't giving up. No one was forcing him to keep me as his secretary, so why the hell couldn't he just leave me alone? Was this all because of his guilty conscience?I certainly hadn't expected him to leave work and come looking for me.So when I opened the door and found him standing there with a bouquet of flowers in one hand and an expression that made it painfully obvious he'd missed me, something inside me almost gave way.For one stupid second, I forgot why I was angry. Then reality came rushing back.I was dealing with the president of a biker club, a man who was used to getting what he wanted. There was no way in hell I was letting him step inside my apartment and make things even more complicated.“You want me to leave?” he asked, his expression turning completely serious.God, those eyes. They stayed on mine like he was trying to see straight through every excuse I'd prepared, and I had to fight the urge to look away. Why couldn't he

Every time footsteps passed my office, I looked up, half-expecting to see her walking toward her desk with that stubborn look on her face. But she never came.I told myself she had finally made up her mind about resigning, and that should have made things easier. Instead, it felt like someone had taken a piece of my routine and left an annoying fucking hole where it used to be.I tried like hell to concentrate on work, but my attention wouldn't stay where it belonged. I would type for five minutes, then glance toward her empty desk. I'd read the same paragraph twice and realize I hadn't absorbed a damn word. Her chair sat there, pushed neatly beneath the desk, as if she had only stepped away for a few minutes

Amelia's POV I never wanted to tell Giselle about Grey being some kind of secret biker president. Not because I wanted to protect him, but because saying it out loud somehow made the whole thing feel even crazier. Still, I couldn't keep it locked inside anymore. It had been eating at me since that night, and I needed to tell someone before I drove myself fucking insane.I shifted in my chair and rubbed my palms against my thighs.“Few nights ago, I was coming home from work,” I began, my voice quieter than I intended. The memory came back so clearly that for a second, I could almost see Grey standing in front of me again, that gun hanging loosely in his hand as if it belonged there.“The night you asked me why I was so shaken?”“Yes.” Giselle leaned forward. “What happened?”“I saw Grey.”Her brows pulled together.“I saw him on the road with a gun in his hand, surrounded by a group of men. They were all wearing leather jackets, and there was a man on the ground in front of them.”I

Amelia's POV “Is…is that not Dad?” she asked, her eyes fixed on the photograph.Oh God.She wasn't supposed to see it.When Dad disappeared, Giselle had been just a little kid. I was older, old enough to understand what was happening and old enough to carry some of the weight of it, even though it had nearly crushed me.But Giselle? She had spent years asking for him.She would sit by the window whenever she heard a car pull into the driveway, convinced that maybe this time, he would be the one stepping out. Even after everyone stopped talking about him, she still asked where he was, when he was coming back, whether he would remember her.I had always hated lying to her about it.Now she was staring at that photograph like it had opened a door neither of us was ready to walk through.I said nothing.“Amelia?”Her eyes finally lifted from the picture and settled on mine. She watched me so closely that I could almost feel her searching my face for an answer, as if one wrong twitch of m
