The Ruthless Alpha and his sassy mate
Author: Beauticent

Prologue

Damien, Alpha king of the shadow pack is a renowned Alpha who is known to be powerful and ruthless. He keeps no one close and treats everyone the same thereby having no weakness that could be used against him.

Lilian, the princess of the Blue-rose pack and also a stubborn one at that too. She is loved by her pack and pampered by her father.

For a decade the Shadow pack and Bluerose pack has been in rivalry but all that changed when Damien found out his mate is Lilian, the daughter of his rivalry pack.

Damien refused to acknowledge that and so did Lilian. She refused to mate with a man known to be ruthless and worse someone that didn't have a great reputation in her pack.

Lilian has looked forward to finding her mate and she had the best dreams about what her mate would be like, Damien doesn't fit into it at all.

These two packs who never thought of cohabiting with one another will have to because the Alpha king of the Shadow pack mate is the sassy princess of the Bluerose pack.

Two months ago when they found out they were each other's mate, it created confusion in their pack as they do not understand why the moon goddess would ever pair them together but later came to the conclusion that it was best they got married to bring peace amongst the two packs that have been fighting for years.

Liliana's father told her that the moon goddess knows best but Lilian refuses. She created a scene but her father stood by his words.

Damien didn't do much to Liliana's dismay. She expected him to do something to make sure they never become one but got nothing at all and it pissed her off.

When the other packs heard of this, they are threatened by this alliance and tried breaking it off by creating different narratives in the respective packs but in the end, they set a wedding date.

"I do not want to marry him. Goodness! That arrogant bastard thinks he would tell me what to do! You do not want to know to encounter him, Fay, trust me!" Lilian complained to her best friend and who is helping her with her wedding dress.

"He is your mate and even if you both don't like each other, you are his fated mate and he is your fated mate," Fay replied and Lilian scoffed.

"You don't have to remind me. I do not understand why my father would have to give in. I mean our packs don't have to be on good terms with this pack. We've been doing well and I don't mind dying without a mate," Lilian retorted as she scrunched her bee nose.

"Don't say that. You should be happy you have found your mate and you are about to be one with him. I haven't found mind and I hope I do," Fay replied.

"Do not worry. You will find your mate and trust me when I say I know he will be better than my mate who thinks he can boss me around just like he does to the pack," Lilian sounded assuring making Fay let out a small chuckle.

When Lilian met Damon for the first time because her father had insisted she does so she could know him better, he had not failed to leave a bad impression in her mind for first time.

It wasn't as if she was expecting much from him considering his reputation but then he had gone beyond her expectations and worse, he told her to be glad she was his mate.

That word has been ringing in her head ever since.

He told her she should stop making a tantrum as he doesn't appreciate dealing with kids.

She could only glare at him for some seconds before saying words to make him angry and in her response, she said, "You might be feared by a lot of people but I won't be afraid of you because you can't do me anything and you are nothing but a stupid wolf!"

Damien glared at her with his fist clenched but she couldn't be bothered as she was glared she made him angry too.

"You are all set," Fay tells Lilian.

Lillian smiled as she stared at herself in the standing mirror.

"I look so good, it's just sad that I'm looking this good for some cocky bastard," she spat out while scrunching her nose.

"I wish my mate is someone I have always imagined but oh well." She shrugged.

Lilian joins Damon shortly with the priest of the shadow pack. Everyone was seated. The wedding had begun and they would say their vows soon.

While the priest did the needful, Damon moved closer to Lilian.

"I'm sure you are burning with happiness right now inside of you so why do you keep glaring at me?" He whispered.

Lilian mentally rolled her eyes. "Burning with happiness? You wish," she muttered under her breath.

"I can assure you this attitude of yours will stop by the time we begin to live with each other because I won't be tolerating this behavior of yours. Because you are my mate doesn't mean you'd get special treatment. I don't care if you are a princess of your pack so I'd advise that you smile and stop glaring at me before I make you do so," he warned quietly.

Lillian stared at him with a forced smile on her face and then she frowned. "Simply because you are an alpha king doesn't I will do as you please. I won't be threatened at all," she retorted.

Damon smirked. As much as she annoys him, she also amused him and he cannot wait to punish her in different ways.

"We shall see," he told her quietly.

"Shall we?" She sounded daring.
