Celine

The fence rattled beneath my hands while I tried to squeeze Milo through the gap. The wire scraped his forearm and he jerked back with a hiss, eyes big. I cupped the back of his head and pressed his cheek to the mesh so he would not look at me and panic.

“Breathe,” I whispered. “Make yourself small.”

“I am small,” he muttered, trying to suck in his belly.

“Smaller. Arms first. Slide, not climb.”

The night pressed close, damp. Far off, steel rang and wolves barked the short commands they used when it was real. The ground smelled like smoke. If we slipped through now, the gully would hide us. I had mapped it in my head a hundred times.

Boots hit dirt behind us.

“There,” a voice snapped. “By the fence.”

I grabbed Milo’s shirt and yanked him back on instinct. If I had been smart I would have shoved him the rest of the way and let them choose. Fear does not do clean math. Hands closed on my arms before I turned, strong and certain.

“Got her,” someone said.

“Don’t touch him,” I said,

  • FORCED TO HAVE THE ALPHA’S BABY   Chapter 112

CelineI wake up slowly, like I’m crawling out of something thick and heavy, and for a second I don’t even know where I am. My eyes blink against the dim light, and all I feel is this deep, dragging ache inside me, low in my belly and across my ribs. Everything feels sore, like my body has been torn apart and stitched back together the wrong way. I try to breathe properly, but even that hurts.Someone is holding my hand. Warm and steady. Too steady.I turn my head and see Alaric sitting on the floor beside the bed, completely drained, like he hasn’t slept for hours, maybe days. His eyes are swollen, red in a way I’m not used to seeing on him. His fingers are wrapped around mine like he’s scared I’ll disappear if he lets go for even one second.“You’re awake,” he whispers, like the sound might break me again. My voice barely works. “I… I’m alive.”He nods, but the way his throat moves tells me he’s trying not to cry. “You scared me,” he says quietly. “Celine, you really scared me.”I a

  • FORCED TO HAVE THE ALPHA’S BABY   Chapter 111

AlaricThe moment her body slips in my arms, everything around me becomes noise I can barely understand. The screams, the crackling fire, the pounding of paws on soaked earth, all of it mixes into one long roar in my head. I keep calling her name, but she isn’t answering, and that alone is enough to make every part of me shake. Her blood is warm against my chest. Too warm. I can feel it seeping through my clothes, sticking them to my skin as if it’s trying to hold on to me. My hands won’t stop trembling, and I keep adjusting my grip like she’s made of something fragile, something that might fall apart if I run too hard or too slow."Celine, stay with me," I keep saying into her hair. My voice cracks every time I try to raise it. "Please look at me... just open your eyes for one second."She doesn’t move. Her head is slumped against my shoulder, her breathing shallow and dragging like every inhale hurts. The camp is burning behind us, flames reaching up like they want to swallow what’s

  • FORCED TO HAVE THE ALPHA’S BABY   Chapter 110

CelineAs Alaric walks beside me, quiet, his presence a steadying shadow, but even that doesn’t fully calm the gnawing tension that’s been coiling in my chest all night.A distant howl splits the night, raw and urgent. I freeze, my hand pressing to my stomach instinctively. Alaric stiffens beside me, ears twitching, eyes scanning the trees. Another howl echoes, this one closer, angry, feral. My heart hammers.“They’re coming,” Alaric mutters, voice low but tense.I swallow hard, my throat dry, panic flaring. “Who? Who’s coming?”But the answer comes before he can speak—a blood-chilling scream, the unmistakable sound of someone being attacked. My legs move before my mind catches up, running toward the camp, each step jarring my swollen belly, each breath harsh and ragged. Alaric is at my side immediately, matching my pace, his hand brushing mine in a silent promise that he won’t let anything happen. The camp comes into view, flames licking the edges of tents and shouts cutting through

  • FORCED TO HAVE THE ALPHA’S BABY   Chapter 109

AlaricThe moon is huge tonight, every night with them in this unfamiliar place makes something twist in my chest. If she was with me in Nightshade, she'll be sleeping and resting in a large room, not these woods, but I made her run this. The air smells damp, earthy, and sharp with the first hints of frost, brushing against my face as I follow Celine as she goes for a walk. Her steps are slow, deliberate, weighted not just by her body but by everything she’s carrying—my child, my mistakes, and all the pain I’ve caused. She doesn’t notice me at first, moving between the trunks like a ghost, her silhouette delicate against the brightness of the moon. I catch the rhythm of her breathing, the faint sound of her boots pressing into soft soil, and for a moment, I just watch, feeling the weight of all the days I wasn’t there.“Celine.” My voice is barely above a whisper, carried lightly by the wind, and she flinches, her hand instinctively pressing to her stomach. She glances back, eyes narr

  • FORCED TO HAVE THE ALPHA’S BABY   Chapter 108

CelineThe wind carries a chill through the rogue camp tonight, rattling the canvas of the tents and stirring the loose leaves that have collected in damp piles. I hear it first, long before I see him. That low, careful movement of someone who doesn’t want to be seen but can’t stop themselves from being present. Alaric. Again.I clamp my hands over my stomach instinctively, trying to hide the tremor that goes beyond the cold. He’s there, near the fire pit, leaning forward as if he belongs and doesn’t, the flames flickering across his face and making his eyes look darker, more hollow than they did the last time I saw him. His hair sticks to his forehead, wet with sweat and rain, and for a second, my heart stabs painfully at the sight of him, ragged and raggedly human again, but still impossibly him.I don’t want to call his name. I don’t want to give him any reason to think he’s welcome here. So I bite the inside of my cheek and retreat into the shadows of my tent, letting him move clo

  • FORCED TO HAVE THE ALPHA’S BABY   Chapter 107

AlaricThe first thing I notice when I reach the edge of the rogue camp is the smell of smoke. It clings to the air, thick and heavy, mixing with damp earth and the faint metallic scent of blood. Rain still drips from the leaves above, falling in slow, steady drops that land on my hair, my face, my shoulders. The forest around me feels tense, alive with the watchful silence of wolves who don’t trust me—and I can’t blame them.I never thought I’d find myself standing in a rogue camp. Not after everything I did to them. But Celine is here, and that’s enough reason to risk walking straight into a den full of wolves who’d rather tear me apart than let me breathe the same air as them. When she stopped running earlier in the woods and didn’t turn back to fight again, I followed. I kept my distance, though. Every instinct in me screamed to reach her, to hold her, but I knew she wouldn’t let me. She shouldn’t.Now, standing at the edge of their territory, the first rogue who spots me growls,
