I quickly dropped down from the washing sink, then went straight to the oven and pulled out the pancake, which had already turned completely black. "It's completely burnt," I humphed, sighing hard as I look at Caspian. "It doesn't matter, baby. Come here, let's continue. I'm damn hard," Caspian replied, exhaling with a slow groaning sound. I pushed my stare away, muttering words from my mouth, "What if the house got burnt in the process?" Looking up, Caspian grabbed me by the neck, then bent me over, my hands placed in the sink as he began pounded me from the back. “You can't leave me hard this way, we have to finish what we started,” Caspian gruff, with a sneer. "If the house were to burn to the ground with you, then I will be right beside you," Caspian's warm voice sounded in my ear as the chill ran through my head. After the whole sex of a thing that occurred in the kitchen, I was hell exhausted. I slept like a drunk who had taken bottles of alcohol. Waking up from the bed, I stood up, my sight still blurry, before a sharp aroma caught up to my nose. Turning my back, I saw Caspian with a dish of food approaching me. "Dinner's served on bed," Caspian said, grinning as he approaching me. I picked up the spoon and tasted the food. “Umm, it tastes good,” I said, shrugging my shoulders upwards as I felt the flavor passing through my throat, the taste and everything about it was overwhelming. What I just tasted was my favorite food, the pasta carbonara. The pasta carbonara is an Italian dish made with eggs, spaghetti, and a few other things which I can't recall. Well, I had tried to learn how to prepare it but always ended up messing everything up. Caspian was an Italian guy by birth, and he was the one who made the pasta carbonara one of my favorites because I always ask him to prepare it. Apart from being jobless, Caspian had one thing that could fill up the gap, which was being a better chef. Before I knew it, I was already done with consuming the entire food on the plate. Caspian smiled at me, then, with a soft voice, he said, "Don't ask for more because that's the last one." "What?" I snapped with a groan gasping hard. Caspian knew that the pasta carbonara was my favorite, and I would ask for more, yet he still decided to make just a little of it. "I hate you," I said jokingly, to which Caspian scoffed, then faced me and placed a peck on my cheek. The next day, I was in my office doing my usual duty. When I was done, I picked up my bag and went to sign out. Looking forward, I saw Jessica approaching me. "Laura, hold on! What's the hurry for?" she said, breathing hard. "Well, as you can see, I'm done for the day," I replied. "You are such a boring lady," Jessica said to me, shaking her head with a huff while sighing. "Why don't we spend some time later in the evening? Maybe in a bar or something?" she suggested looking at me. "I can't guarantee my coming, but I will try and make it up," I replied, walking away. Looking deep into this, I needed time to take a break, maybe hangout or something. At least spending time with a friend would clear off my stress—of daily routines of going to work, returning home, and starting over the next day. It's such a boring lifestyle, and I think Jessica was right about me. After signing out, I drove home. Sitting on the sofa while watching my favorite TV show, I poured some soft drinks into my glass cup and sipped on it while watching movies. I got so tired and everything scene of the movie began getting boring, and thinking of a way to clear off my head, Maybe meeting Jessica was the right choice—at least, let's have fun. And by the way, Caspian wasn't at home; he was out again with his friends. I picked up my phone and dialed Jessica's number, trying to confirm if she was still going to make it for the meetup she suggested. Because the reply I gave to her previously might have pulled her interest away from it. The call went through, and there was a reply from the other end. "Hello, Laura," Jessica spoke into her phone from her end immediately the call went through, as if she was waiting for my call. "Hi, Jessica. I was wondering if you are still interested in the meetup you suggested earlier? Oh god, I'm damn bored right now," I replied, gripping my phone as I played with my fingers while staring at them. "Why not? I'm hell interested! If I wasn't interested in the first place, I wouldn't have suggested it. I brought it up so at least we could spend good time together. Apart from seeing each other always at work, I want us to have fun," Jessica replied, her voice sounding desperate. "Okay, which night restaurant are you suggesting?" I asked. "Travolta will be the best choice," Jessica responded. "Okay, let's meet there by eight, okay?" I said before ending the call. I dropped my phone on the table, my legs crossing each other, as I continued watching the boring movie in front of me. Some minutes later, I was done dressing up, then headed to the restaurant Jessica had suggested. On reaching the restaurant, I saw Jessica already seated at one of the seats, preserving a space for us. I walked to her and sat down. "Oh, it's you. I thought you wouldn't make it," Jessica spoke out immediately she saw me with a surprised tone. "Did you forget I was the one that called you earlier to confirm if you were still interested?" I said with a chuckle, adjusting myself on the seat. The waiters brought some drinks and food, which we had ordered. While eating, Jessica kept staring at me, and I was curious why. "Why the stare?" I asked, staring back at her. "I think you might be in love with the CEO, which I will advise you to get away your feelings from, because that's the most wrong thing to do, if you don't want your life to go sideways. He might have other girls and you having feelings for him will make him just dismiss you from work if you eventually showed it up to him," Jessica advised, sipping on her juice with a straw. "I wasn't falling for him, dumbass. Shut your mouth off! I'm married, have you forgotten?" I replied, sighing hard, as I looked away with a humph "This isn't an argument to make about it if you are pushing hard on it. though, what I'm trying to say is that there's nothing wrong with catching feelings. But you have to know who you are actually falling for. If not, you'll get yourself into trouble,” Jessica responded while sipping on her drink through the straw, which made me think about her words but I wasn't falling for him anyways I was just admiring him.Laura's POV "Ain't you the one who was complaining of pain in your ankle and waist, claiming you couldn't walk by yourself?" I asked. Jessica went to her mirror, then sat, looking for some cosmetics to dress her face."Yes, of course, I was the one complaining of all those things," she replied, then scoffed, shifting her gaze to me as she added, "Don't you believe in miracles?""I believe in miracles, but not in your case, you actually blindfolded me," I replied, my voice slightly raised, then sighed."Well, I want to be blunt to you now. I wasn't having any pain in my leg that could make walking difficult for me," Jessica finally confessed."Hold a minute, so all this while you could walk properly but decided to stress me?" I replied with disbelief.Jessica began laughing, and I was already getting infuriated. She had played me, played me in a way I didn't see coming. She just wanted me to spend time with her. She could have just said it bluntly to me before now, though I wouldn't
Laura's POV “No, it's nothing, can you give me some minutes? I want to reply to a text message.” I replied to Jessica, pushing a smile off my lips. I wasn't intend to let her know that it was Caspian who had sent me the message I was about to reply. I'm trying to keep the conversation secret. “What’s wrong with Caspian? He didn’t even bother asking me the reasons why I hadn't come home early today, nor showing any care to asked if something had happened, all he could do was tell me some bullshit talk of him having good news for me. I just hope this news is worth calming me down for the anger boiling inside of me,” I pondered in thought, I felt like exploding. As thoughts of Caspian nonchalant attitude surged more into me, I couldn't control my Dismay and before I knew it, my face began fuming, it was starting to become obvious that I was angry and as soon as I remember I wasn't alone, and my fuming face could attract questions from Jessica which I was trying my possible best to avo
Laura's POV Jessica’s hands pushed forward toward my cheek, then she raised my head upwards over her sharp stare, “Everything will be fine, everyone makes mistakes, and I promise you that this isn’t a problem to get yourself disturbed about. You are still married to Caspian; nothing had changed that, so let life keep pushing.”“Yeah, I know, and thanks for the advice,” I replied to Jessica, my head down.“I’m happy you have forgiven me, Laura. At least we could bring back old memories together,” Jessica said, smiling.“Yeah, sure, the old time memories will always ignite, and our friendship will never fail,” I replied to Jessica, and then we hugged each other.Within some hours, it was already night, and Jessica was still feeling some pain in her leg. Me leaving her now would be inhumane, though she had insisted for me to return home, but I insisted not to.“laura, you have to go back home. Won’t your husband be disturbed?” Jessica said, her hands gripping mine.“I don’t think he wo
Laura's POV I picked up the knife, then began sliding on the vegetables, completely puzzled on what to do next.“I think the best way of doing this is to try and follow the steps by step process of making the food online,” I thought to myself, sighing in frustration, then went back into the living room and picked up my phone. Jessica was just seated, staring at the television, while she ate some snacks"Do you want to make some calls?" Jessica asked after seeing me picking my phone from my bag."No, I just want to play some music while cooking, it's fun to listen to music while cooking rubbish," I replied, sneering. Jessica scoffed at my replies then continued what she was watching.I went back to the kitchen, and went through the internet, and just immediately, I saw the video I was looking for. I reacted excitedly."Yes, that's it, let's see how I would make the impossible possible."I picked up my knife, following all the process on the video, and within some minutes, I was done w
Laura's POV We both walked out of the hospital, and so I waved a taxi, the taxi stopped and then we got inside. The taxi man drove off and after ten to six minutes we reached Jessica's house. I assisted Jessica down from the car because she complained of her having pain in her knees, probably due to the way she fell to the ground when the car brushed her to the side."Sorry, Jessica, we are already home, just a few steps and we would be inside," I encouraged with a grin, making her endure the pain. my hands gripping Jessica's waist as I gently walked her into her house.I sat Jessica on the chair, a soft sofa having a stylish weaving at the side of it's handle."Would you like to drink any water?" I asked, trying to know if Jessica needed anything. I was ready to be of help to her to the fullest. "No, I don't. I don't feel like taking any water for now," Jessica replied, pushing a smile off her lips."What I need now is food," she added."Food... Okay, I will go get you some food i
Laura's POV "Ooh sorry for squeezing you hard, i was lost in surprise that's why,” I apologized immediately as my hands let go of Michaela arms.“Please can you explain what happened,” I demanded, my fingers intertwined with my other fingers as I became more curious, my face fearful. “Wow, your strength is astonishing, you wanted squeezing me like a meatball,” Michaela said with a nervous laugh, and just as she was about to continue her words without telling me what I had demanded, trying to waste my time, because of this I snapped. “Can you please get to the point and talk already?”I could see how Michaela flinched by the impact of my voice, it was as if she wanted to levitate in fear.“Yes, yes,” Michaela quickly replied then continued after a deep breath. “It all happened in a flash, I was there when the accident happened, it was immediately you left that a bus ran into her.”My eyes widen in disbelief, I could remember when I ghosted Jessica when she tried apologizing to me.
