ISABELLA’S POV

I was still in a state of shock by the time I’d gotten to Adrian’s house. What if he hadn’t called me? What if I had refused to take his call? I would have been shot and nobody would have found my killers. I was sure of it.

I still couldn’t believe that Julius had a hand in it. Did the breakup hurt him that much that he wanted to kill me? Even though he had been the one to end things between us.
