5. Escape

Chapter 5. Escape

Jade’s POV

“Nine hundred million one...

Nine hundred million two...

Nine hundred million three.” The man on the podium counted.

With a bang of a hammer, “Sold for Nine Hundred Million.” He completed the auction.

“Today’s auction is complete. Please collect your orders from the back of the stage after making your respective payments. See you guys next week at the same time. Thank you so much.”

I was dragged by a bald man. He was way too built for his height. He ended up under my ear, but his grip was tight. He made me hiss at his touch as he winked.

“You are hot!” He ran a hand through my back.

My eyes widened in shock. That was disgusting. I had never had a man touch me so nastily.

“It’s bad to see you going so soon.” He stuck his tongue out.

I wish I could pull his tongue and roll it around his neck. I was helpless, though. I had to endure his filthy touch all the way to the back of the stage. The two women who escorted me till here flashed a happy grin as though I were their best friend, who won a commendable award.

“I knew it, honeybee.” The fat one clapped her hands. “No girl made us so much profit.”

“And who bought her here?” I tightened my fingers into a ball. So this is the man who brought me here to this hellish place.

“Yeah, whatever.” The fat woman said that and took my custody.

She took me to the rear of the factory with a shutter that was unbolted. All the men, sexy to bald and old, I have seen sitting in the hall, were gathered there.

Silence engulfed the environment when I reached there. All men turned to me, lust clouding their visions. Some of them winked at me and some licked their lips, feeling regret for not being able to purchase a product like me.

This made me sympathize with poor pets in those fancy pet shops located on the side of busy streets. They must feel this way. I lowered my gaze as tears weakened my determination. I was suddenly shaking. To top my fright, my owner graced the area with his terrorizing personality.

But hell, No. I won’t give in. I won’t let any nasty man touch even a single strand of my hair.

He was man so tall that I ended just under his shoulder. His build was powerful. My nails bit into my palms as I tried not to look freaked out yet excited at the same time. He was grotesque.

“Hey, darling.” His hand went around me.

I shut my eyes tight as he lowered his head. “You are beautiful. I never bought a woman so sexy.” He said it quietly.

My choppers ground together. What the hell were they seeing in me so charming that they couldn’t hold back the urge to describe me like that? This was the fourth compliment so far. Trust me, it feels like I am candy; they all want to suck.

There’s not much difference, even in my human form, is there? The truth is that they all view me as candy only.

“Open your eyes and look at your master, darling. Look at your owner.” He lifted my face with his finger going under my chin.

With a swig of the lump I had in my throat, I slowly undid the shutters of my eyes. He was menacing. Every inch of this man alarmed me. He put my sixth sense on alert.

“H-hi,” His large hand ran across my cheek as I hushed.

His eyebrows went under his foreshadowing hair. He smirked amusingly and replied, “Wow. You are a legit thing to own.”

His hand went around my waist, causing my heart to hammer in my chest. I didn’t falter in my gaze, though. I kept staring at him while I formed my lips.

“Can you take me out of this place, master? I don’t like being stared at like a public monument.” He scanned me critically and beamed in surprise.

I have been different since. They may not have seen a girl so approachable and cooperative. All of them had their eyes on me.

I wasn’t throwing tantrums or using my hands or legs. My face was set properly, and the make-up was not melting away either. My eyes were melting, but the tears never gushed out. I might look exotic to them. Exotic that excites men.

“I regret not bidding further. She’s heavenly.” I heard a man on my left. Someone whose voice was frequently echoing in the hall. He was an active bidder.

A bunch of men even expressed their regrets to each other for having me slip out of their clutch. They could enjoy me every bit if only they didn’t stop quoting. They all desired me.

“Why not, darling? I’ll take you out of here.” My buyer said this and snapped his fingers.

Much to my shock, a team of three hulk-like bodyguards jumped out of nowhere. They had guns tucked at the sides of their waists. They surrounded us from the front as my so-called owner led me further into the protection of his guards.

“By the way,” he gave me a look he assumed was tempting. “You can call me Matteo.”

Matteo... So his name is Matteo. He is undoubtedly handsome, but I hate men like him. Who trade girls and spend millions of dollars for someone’s virginity are no men. They are beasts. And I will teach this beast a good lesson before I make my escape.

Not to mention that the plan is already in my head.

His hand held me tight to his side as we crossed the place, those men staring at my body hungrily. We were in the parking lot. We stopped there while Matteo's, one of the guards, went to get the car.

“Hop in, sweet heart.” Matteo said.

I nervously sucked a breath and scanned the three guards. One had taken the driver’s seat, and the other two strode away to another black BMW.

“What makes my possession take so long?” Matteo breathed near my neck, and I jolted away.

I stepped up and deliberately collapsed at his feet.

“Ouch!!!” I let out a strong cry, clutching my feet as he kneeled down.

“Are you ok?” Before he finished his query, I reached further down to my foot and grabbed out a stiletto.

I smacked it hard in his face and got up before the guards had any chance to seize me in the spot.

“CATCH HERRRR!” Matteo bellowed on my back.

“Catch that damned bitch.”

I could sense heavy men behind me. However, I had no guts to look at my back. I ran crazily like a roadrunner. I forgot I was wearing an uncomfortable dress that revealed my legs until the upper thighs. Even so, I ran and ran. It didn’t matter. I just continued running even though I was out of breath.

There were constant prayers going on in my head as I prayed to God to help me.

“Ahh,” Just by an inch, a hand failed to catch my hair.

I may be trapped. I am not helpless. I know how to find my way out.

Crying over spilled milk is not in my nature. My father might have decided my fate by selling me away, but I will choose its course and how I want to live my life. And I want it to be full of freedom.

I won’t leave. Not to anyone. Not to any difficult situation. I will persist. I will fight.

I took a left turn as there was no path ahead, and *thud* I bumped into someone.

“Hey, hey, are you okay, young lady?” Two sturdy arms grabbed me by the elbow, preventing my fall.

I could hear those men behind me. Their thudding steps caused me to bite back a sob.

“Eh?” I didn’t care to look up who the man was and instead snaked my arms around his waist. He was surprised; there were no doubts about that.

My eyes burned, and my mouth was dry. My throat was bitter with bile as I tried not to give away how fucking scared I was. But I couldn’t manage it, though. I was trembling like a metal sheet under a rough windstorm.

“H-help, th-they want to h-hurt me.”

The book is good so far. needs a little editing but other than that it's good. for example: The sentence, I'M A CANDY... Should be I'M A PIECE OF CANDY... Just honestly trying to help your writing, not criticizing.
