The Scenery of Darkness

Prologue 

I was walking on the side road while my eyes on my cellphone, when i bumped into someone's chest. Irritation hit me when i saw my cellphone on side of my foot. I look up to see who's is it, then i saw a handsome face. I was shock when he smiled at me, he have a dimples. It's cute. Based of what i see of his appearance, i already know what attitude he had. 

"Hey, girl.." He smiled playfully. I knew it. 

"I'm not sorry," i said then pick up my phone on the floor. I was about to leave when he stop me by blocking my way. I stay calm but deep inside i wanna punch him. 

"Wait, can i offer you to go with me to a coffee shop? I want to know you.." He's flirting with me, alright. 

"Look, mister. I have to go somewhere, okay? So can you move away now? I have no time for you." I calmly said. He chuckle. 

"Okay, I'm Dale, and your’s?" He smiled sweetly. 

"I don't have a name." I coldly said. 

"What? How can you have not a name?" He's stubborn as hell. I really want to punch him. 

"So? I have a temporary amnesia just now."

"What the?!" He pretend being shock. I rolled my eyes. 

"What do you really want?" His flirty smiled back. 

"I want you." He said without hesitation. 

"I don't."

Boys these days are so fucking shameless! What's fucking new anyway?

When I woke up in the morning, I went down to the dining area. My family welcomed me with them happily chatting with the man in a formal suit and his face was very familiar to me. Even grandpa participates in laughter and storytelling.

And since I’m not in the mood to be irritated right now, I ignore them, and continue walking to the kitchen to get something to drink. The sights of my two brothers are following me.

I continue drinking until grandpa spoke. "Sweetheart, you're up," Isn't obvious? I lazily rolled my eyes. "Come, join us!" 

And because it’s my grandpa who talked, i don't have the right to say no. I sat in the middle of my two brothers. I'm lazy to react when the two dorks start putting food on my plate. 

"Hija, i want you to meet the only son of your Auntie Anna and Uncle Larry, louie," Daddy introduced the men in front of me right now. I sat on the wrong chair! 

I lazily look at him, with a small grin, and just nod. "Hijo, this is my daughter, Elizabeth." It’s mommy. 

"Sweetheart, your Auntie Anna and Uncle Larry, and i, decide to make a collaboration," Grandpa started. 

Wait, I think I know this.. 

"Through?" I say. 

Grandpa didn’t answer right away so mommy took over, she’s the one who spoke for grandpa. "Through marriage, hija." She coldly said. 

I laughed softly and looked to the man in front of me. "Did you already choose between the two?" I politely ask him. 

He frowned. "Who’s two?"

"These two," then pointed at the men sitting on my both sides. 

He choked and drink water. Same goes to the my brothers besides me. I chuckles. 

"Dear..." Daddy interrupted. I just roll my eyes. 

I stopped when mom handed me a phone. I look at her, confused. I immediately turned my eyes back to the phone she gave. I almost throw the phone because of that I just saw. 

"It was already published last week." Ani mommy. 

My eyes is still staring at the phone’s screen. An article saying that this idiot in front of me right now and i, are engaged. Fucking what!? 

"You did this without talking to me?" I asked, starting to get furious. I turned my head on my mother who’s obviously don’t care about anything I say. I looked at my father and grandpa, they can’t even look at me back in my eyes. 

"This is bullshit!" I shouted and really throw the phone this time. The phone hit on the wall just behind Louie, obviously shocked. Mom’s phone is so broke, but she didn't mind. 

"You want me to marry? To him?" Then pointed to Louie, still shocked about the throwing phone behind him. "And you agreed to this?" He just nodded, and looked away. 

I laughed, but I’m furious. "You're so pathetic." I coldly said. 

I stood up and left my seat. Before I leave the place, I want to say something. I look back at them. 

"I'm disappointed, grandpa, daddy. I can't believe you let this witch control you." Mom quickly turned her angry eyes on me, her sharp eyes is piercing at me but I don’t care. "There's no fucking wedding. If you keep insisting this, then you marry him yourself." I said to Mom. Her eyes is more sharp now after what I just said, daddy immediately stopprd her from attacking me. 

I walked out of that house with my things with me. I moved out of that house. I hate my miserable life. 

"Maybe they just want the best for you." Monique says, trying to light up the mood. I look at her, lazy. 

"Are you crazy? They arranged a marriage without telling me, they want me to marry just anyone to satisfied themselves. And you said they want the best for me? You think it will give me a happy life? You are not thinking right then." I said, mad. 

I stayed at their house for a while. Monique’s parents are away because of a business trip.

While i stayed at Monique's place, i force myself to forget the family problem in the mean time. I want to be happy just for these days. I don’t want a headache. 

We're here at the mall, doing window shopping with Monique. Minutes later, i look at Monique, irritated. Because she invites a hateful person. 

She look at me, guilty. "It's kind of sad if we're just two, s-so i invited king..." 

Then i coldly turned to Kingston, hands in his pockets. He leveled my coldness stare. 

"Whatever. I'm tired of fighting." I said, started walking, leaving them alone. 

I continued looking at the beautiful dresses at the different stores. My phone suddenly rang. I picked it up then look who's the caller. 

I answered it immediately because it's my grandfather. 

"Yes?" I lazily said. 

"Where are you, sweetheart?" I rolled my eyes because of his soft fake voice. 

"I'm roaming around the mall with Monique and Kingston." I says. I felt Monique and Kingston behind me. 

"Come home now, please. Let’s talk..." I just sighed.
