Chapter Eleven

Roxie sat back in the hospital bed. She was so tired. Her throat hurt, she was unable to speak. There was so much she wanted to say to Avery. However, she was unable to do so. When she attempted to speak, it felt as though her throat was on fire. She was thankful to Avery for saving her, but now all she wanted was to tell him, how thankful she was. She knew that her father was coming to the hospital, but she did not want to see him. She partially blamed him for allowing her mother to do the things that she did. As it stood, the only person in that room that she trusted, was Avery.

Collin had got the call from the hospital while he was at work. He couldn’t believe that something so horrific had happened to his daughter.
