Eva Gibson’s pov

I was beginning to believe that there was no better way than being awakened by your mate's face buried between your thighs.

Seeing me blinking my eyes, Austin peered over my mons at me with a grin on his face.

“It was getting late, and I couldn't think of a better way to wake you,” he mumbled huskily while wiping his mouth of my juices. OK

“Well, good thing I awoke because I need to pee,” I giggled slightly before rotating myself over him and scurrying to the ensuite.

When I finished, Austin was already dressed in a three-piece suit and looking spiffy.

“You'd better get ready. We have to head to town in fifteen minutes.

Gasping, I questioned him about not waking me earlier as I raced around the room to gather my clothing.

“I got carried away from your delightful taste, my sweet,” he chuckled at me, gazing back at me with a blush staining my cheeks.

Grabbing the dress, I quickly slipped it on and turned toward him.

“Wow, you're breathtaking and more lovely th

Eva Gibson’s pov Heading into the house, I glanced back at Leora and offered to carry some of the items she held while using my hip to open the door. She shook her head and told me she was fine so I directed her to the stairs. “You shouldn't be overexerting yourself in your condition, dear. Your pup is very special,” she chirped while easily going up the stairs. Once inside the bedroom that I had used, Leora turned to me with a grin on her face. She started to speak as she held up different dresses and studied me with one eye closed. “So Miss Gibson, are you excited to become Luna?” Giving her an awkward laugh, I said, “Honestly, I am happy with just being a guard, but I will support my mate, who would be a great Alpha.” Nodding, she said softly, “ I understand you completely and honestly am grateful for my son Ciaran and his lovely mate taking over our positions. Being a high queen has its perks, but I would rather have my time free of duties. I think the indigo blue go

Eva Gibson’s pov Sitting at the full dining table, memories of my family touched my mind. “They are your family now,” Lana commented, and I creased my brow at Gideon and Dante. “Those two aren't,” I murmured. “Not both of them,” she responded, confusing me more. Taking bites of the steak, I asked my wolf if she knew what the big secret was that Dante and now Elvina were finding out from me. She exhaled deeply and said, “I am knowledgeable about a little but not the entirety. I also have been ordered not to mention anything until it is known for certain.” Frowning, I stabbed the pieces of meat in aggravation. “Tell me, I should be told if it involves me and you are MY wolf! I don't appreciate being left in the dark,” I thought sternly, causing her to snicker. “Fine brat, do you know about the Lithuanian Goddess Medeina?” Narrowing my eyes, I muttered, “She is a forest Goddess to the hunters and warriors. She is said to be a beautiful woman with a white she-wolf and

Eva Gibson’s pov After Austin had ended his call, he told me that all was fine. “Nick believes Dante has gone to question Gideon, so my mom will be safe. Oh, and now we can attend the harvest moon celebration since we will be the Alpha and Luna for the festivities,” he said softly. “I don't feel very festive, not with losing my sister, Jace, and Tonya…,” I muttered, then paused because my sadness started to reach my eyes. Wiping at them absentmindedly, I glanced at him, appearing lost in thought. “I want to honor them in some way. I should send some money to the McDermotts and a sympathy card. They lost two of their children and could only bury one,” he stated sullenly. “I'm going to have Olivia as my daughter’s middle name. It's the best I can do since I couldn't give her a proper burial,” I murmured softly as a tear rolled down my cheek. “I would have done the same with Jace's name if we were having a son,” he said softly as he drew me to himself. I lay my cheek on his

Eva Gibson’s pov “Why isn't her wolf healing her?” Austin asked Dante. Giving Austin an annoyed glare he said, “Probably because she was attacked by a fucking Lycan, duh?” “Well, heal her magic man,” Austin asserted while holding me. “If you would release her, I'd be happy to, and you can go check out the dead huge bastard in the basement,” Dante snapped. “I'm sure he's not that large,” He mumbled sternly before giving me a quick peck and telling me that he would return shortly. Watching him disappear down the basement stairs, Dante came before me, rubbing his hands. “Hold your arms out steady and close your eyes,” he ordered me. Doing what he asked, I felt warmth traveling up my arms, then that sharp stabbing pain in my abdomen, and I hissed. “My pup gets pissy when you or anyone with magic gets close to me,” I mumbled as I opened my eyes to see him looking agitated. “It could be a defensive issue, but I know for certain that she is also siphoning energy from me l

Eva Gibson’s pov “That can't be safe in your condition,” I heard Dante say and rolled my eyes as I dunked the sponge into the bucket, dangling on my forearm, and wrung the sponge out. “I'm only standing on a chair,” I muttered as I started scrubbing at the letters, which were almost completely gone. “Would one of you pour the rest of that peroxide into this bucket, please?” I asked nicely. Hearing only Dante, I furrowed my brow and looked at him. “Where is Austin?” “He went to issue his challenge,” he answered nonchalantly, and I gritted my teeth. “Where exactly did he go? He could have just issued it with his cell phone,” I mumbled in aggravation. Shrugging, Dante muttered, “He was mentioning Sirius's home or hangout? He was going to head there and issue the challenge, so the Alpha and Luna didn't send their mercenaries here.” Stepping down off the chair, I exhaled deeply and commented that Austin wouldn't put Sirius and his family in harm's way. Did he mention Si
