I placed my son gently back into his crib, making sure he was comfortable, and quietly left the nursery.

I wanted to avoid any unnecessary conversations with Cullen's mother, especially when I had so much on my mind.

As I entered my room and dropped my bag on the bed, my phone suddenly began to ring. I glanced at the caller ID and was shocked to see Ignacio's name displayed.

"What does he want now?" I muttered to myself as I answered the call.

"Hello?" I said, trying to sound composed.

"Hi Brielle," Ignacio's voice came through the line.

"What do you want, Ignacio?" I asked, irritation evident in my voice.

"I just want to understand why you chose a contract marriage instead of giving our marriage another chance," Ignacio said.

I scoffed at his question, "You got the money you wanted, right? So please stop calling me," I retorted and promptly hung up.
