Chapter 10: The Courtship

Natalie's POV

After my graduation, I didn't work because I wanted to rest before thinking about applying for a job.

John Dave and I still have the same set-up. Every afternoon we meet when he gets home from his studies. In the morning I got out but I only went to the mall.

My friends have their own jobs and they are still gimmicking every night. I still didn't go with them whenever they wanted me to.

One afternoon while John Dave and I were talking, he confessed that he wanted to date me. I froze at his words. I even taught myself to make sure he was talking about me.

He wants me to be his girlfriend? That he doesn't know what my past is? I was dumbfounded by what he confessed.

"D-do you want m-me to be your g-girlfriend?" I repeated to him but stammered while looking into his eyes.

I turned my gaze in another direction because I couldn't meet his gaze. Silence prevailed between the two of us as we stared. He was the first to break our silence.

"Yes, Natalie, I want you to be my girlf
