CHAPTER 24

Declan stood in the doorway with his arms crossed, staring wickedly at her, and it was this that greeted Margaux upon her arrival.

She looked down at her wristwatch, but the man spoke up again.

"Do you know what time it is?" Margaux looked up at the young man and casually replied. "It's only seven o'clock in the evening."

Margaux nodded and walked to the door, about to turn to avoid the large volume of Declan's body that was blocking the road, when he abruptly gestured with his left leg, preventing her from entering completely.

"What's your problem?" inquired the maiden. The brow is also furrowed.

Declan leaned over, and now he was face to face with her.

"What are you doing at Dexter's house? Visiting him? Is he flirting with you, Margaux? The first time you came here, it was Kevin, now it's Dexter, who's next?"

"What are you talking about, Declan? Dexter and I just went for a walk earlier and went to their house; what's the big deal, one of your men was with me, and Dexter is kind—"
