Kelly looked around the darkened space. It was clean and perfect to describe his personality. Uncluttered and almost empty. He turned on the light, and she then saw why it was so dark. He had curtains on the long windows that were black and blocked out any light from outside. She knew that her room also had curtains, but they were not like this.

He watched her as she looked around. He had a sofa that was made for two people in the middle of the open room. He went over, and the tv lowered from the ceiling. She watched as it did. He sat down and knew she would follow in a moment.

“What would you like to watch?” he asked. Even to his own ears, his voice had changed. It was lower than normal. Though he was trying to balance himself, he couldn’t really hide right now. He had meant what he said. He had never allowed anyone in the room they were in. This was his. His space. His place that he could let the rest of the world fade away.
