That's when a new voice came from behind them. Benton hadn't even seen his older sister walk up through the arch of trees. “Mother, do be a dear and just sit down. Benton is finally happy, and he deserves this chance. He made his choice. And it's time for the family to support him instead of trying to get him to do what we want. His little chipmunk is the one that makes him this way. If he says that he's going to fulfill the clause, it doesn't really matter what happens to the rest of us. We should all be grateful that he was even willing to put himself on the line like that. However, this is his day. This is not the day for you to throw a holy fit in front of a bunch of strangers.” Penny stated very eloquently as she began to look around the area. She was slightly impressed with what everything had looked like. It wasn't like she had been to the area before, but she could see what had been done. “This is fitting for you, Benton. That you marry your little chipmunk an
“You may now kiss the bride.” was the only thing that Benton heard the entire time he was looking at Kelly. He knew that he had said his vows and that she had replied with her own. But that was the only thing that he could focus on. As soon as the officiant had said that, he bent down, and he gave her a very slow but not majorly graphic kiss. Cameras went wild, in everybody cheered for the two of them. “Welcome to the family chipmunk.” Penny sighed as she looked at Kelly for the first time, knowing that they had not been introduced before, but the small woman had been a part of every decision that her brother had made for her. “Chipmunk?” Kelly asked as she looked at a Penny. “It's just a cute family name that I don't even think Benton realizes why I call you that. It isn't the fact that you appeared out of the wilderness. I don't need to know the story. I have a feeling I already do, and if you need anyone to help you navigate t
The day after the wedding, Benton had scheduled a news conference to discuss the quantum diffuser. He had also scheduled a little bit of a personal update. They were going to announce the wedding and the fact that they were happily married now. He was more excited about everything than he had been in his entire life. The more that they got settled into the compound together, the happier he was with everything that was going on. The news had broken with her name, considering how many people had been charged in the crime and how many other people needed to come forward to receive the money that they had donated. Benton had set up a fund that would pay everybody back because there was no telling where the money had gone since nobody had any in any of their accounts. He didn't want people to have to pay for being nice. All they had to do was prove that they had given money to that particular campaign on go fund me and they would receive the money-back no questions
It had been three months since they got married, and now it was time for Benton's birthday. He was turning 34, and he knew at that time that a few months ago, he would have never really put any stock into how old he was. Now he realized that he was ten years older than his wife. He also had one year to fulfill the clause that his father had left in the will. That didn't seem to be too much of a hardship for him, and he enjoyed trying to make sure that they fulfilled it. Kelly had made sure that everything was simple on his birthday for him. He didn't want to have a huge celebration. He just wanted to spend it with her. After all the work that they had done with the quantum diffuser and the different aspects of its building for different applications, this was going to be a relaxing weekend that she had planned for the two of them. They weren't even leaving the compound. They were just going to be spending it mostly in their private apartments. T
The laser grid system that set off the alarms at the laboratory and house it was built into the side of the mountain went off with such an abrupt Ness that I took everybody by surprise. It was full dark outside. He didn't know what time it was. He'd been in the lab pretty much the entire day. He was absolutely sure that within the next week, all of his work would be vindicated. And he would have created one of the most important scientific devices of all time. He heard the team of security agents running by his door. He went to the balcony, and he looked down, and that's when he saw a body at the base of the mountain. He owned the entire mountain range for at least five miles in each direction. He was not exactly known for being kind to those who trespassed. The security team would deal with it, so he just shrugged it off and went back inside. Something about the form, though, was staying with him. The person that was lay
The people who had contact with the person who was brought in were honestly shocked that anyone could survive whatever they had survived. The person was completely battered and bruised and extremely swollen. They were surprised that the person had a pulse, let alone rather strong one still. The doctors began a myriad of tests to try and find what exactly was wrong with them. They didn’t spare any resource they had at hand. It wasn't until about two hours after the fact that they realized they were in over their heads. They had run Xrays and even the MRI and cat scan on the person and realized that there was a lot more damage than they thought that they could possibly take care of. However, one doctor knew that they had to operate extremely quickly to be able to give this person a chance at survival. They had severe internal bleeding. The bleeding was happening very slowly, so they had time to figure everything out. They did have a surgeon on cal
“You said that she had a few other issues,” Benton stated as he was trying to process everything that the doctor had just told him. He was not facing the men and looking at him. There was something that most people didn't even get when it came to talking to him. Benton had a reputation of not seemingly caring about most people. One of the richest men in the world, and then it almost seemed like he had no interpersonal skills. Most people just felt happy to be in the same room as him, as if either his money or his intellect would be the thing that would make them rise up like a phoenix. He hated that more than anything. “She has massive brain bleeding. Whatever happened to her, she hit her head quite a few times. There's no actual telling until she wakes up what the damage was.” The doctor said as he leveled a stare at Benton. “What is the cause of her injuries?” Benton asked as he looked at the girl. He was not curious because there was
Though she couldn't open her eyes, she knew that she was laying in a bed. She didn't know she knew that or what even a bed really was. She couldn't remember everything that was going on around her period. She remembered being outside. That's when she started to really think and almost began to panic internally. She had no idea who she was. She had no idea where she was. Everything that was running her was foreign, and she had no idea what it was there for in the first place. There was a lot going on around her, and she could hear various people in the background, but she still couldn't open her eyes just yet. The people that were there didn't seem to notice that she was any different, so she just laid there perfectly still. There was a sense of panic that was pumping through every one of her veins. Being where she was, she had to think that she was safe even though she really didn't know anything that was going on around
Despite the amount of medication the doctors had been pumping her full of, she managed to start to wake up without them even realizing it. When a nurse came into the room that she had been placed in, even though it was highly monitored with the guards and even the doctors and staff of the Medical Center. She was slightly surprised to see the girl there with her eyes completely wide open. “Where am I?” the girl managed to ask, and she looked at the nurse, who was about ready to drop the tray of medications. She was clearly surprised and even shocked to the point that she was embarrassed. “You need to hold on one moment. I need to get one of the doctors in here. You should not be awake right now.” center sign she placed the tray down and then quickly ran out of the room, and then there was another high pitch sound that echoed through the area. She didn't know what the noise was. There was nothing there before
