Chapter 3

Emelia's POV

It's already dawn and Ethan isn't back yet, I couldn't help but pace back and forth filled with extreme worry, "oh Moon goddess please protect my son".

"My lady, the second prince is back ". Sheila, my personal Maid informed me.

"Where is he?!". I asked hurriedly.

"He is at the pala_". Without waiting for her to complete her sentence, I quickly ran to the palace.

Seeing him walking like someone who just survived an apocalypse looking all haggard and nothing like a prince, I felt my heart drop. "Ethan...". I called out as I quickly ran closer to him and enveloped him in a tight hug like my life depended on it.

"What the heck?". I slapped his shoulders lightly, "where have you been?, I was worried sick you know!!". I ranted uncontrollably.

His extremely pale face and chapped lips clenched my heart like crazy.

I was about to tell him to quickly go get rest, but then I heard him say, "Mom I want to sleep ".

"What?!". I uttered confused, and before I realized what was happening he passed out on my shoulders.

I was so shocked that I couldn't control my tears, " Ethan!..... Please wake up". I yelled and tapped him but to no avail.

I quickly called for the guards as they helped me carry him inside his chambers.

Looking at him sleeping Peacefully on the bed I wiped my tears and sighed in relief. I'd better leave him to rest.

I wanted to leave the room, but seeing how he was sweating profusely I moved closer to him and used my sleeves to dab his forehead gently.

To my ultimate surprise his eyes suddenly snapped open and he shouted, "Don't go!!". With his hands outstretched forward like he was trying to grip on something.

"Ethan....". I called out gently and he turned to me, it was then I noticed the abnormal change in his Silver orbs, but before I can look at it more closely, he closed his eyes and went back to slumber.

In my confused state the only thing I could do was call out his name again. "Ethan?".

I just couldn't believe my eyes, I swear I saw his orbs completely red... Just like that of a Vamp! Is he finally acquiring his full powers?

The more I thought of this the more my head hurt so I decided to call Maxwell. [Sheila, summon Maxwell now!]. I communicated to her through Mind link.

[Yes your highness], I heard her reply.

Maxwell is a royal physician, plus he is a werewolf so he is the best person to call.

"My humble greetings your Royal highness". I heard Maxwell's voice.

"Save the formalities, please check on the second prince". I said.

"Yes your highness". Maxwell replied with a bow before moving closer to Ethan.

He sat down and then placed a red piece of clothing on Ethan's wrist before he checked his pulse.

After anxiously waiting for a while I asked, "Is he okay?".

Maxwell tilted his head in dismay before replying, "Your highness, there is nothing wrong with the second prince... In fact his has grown more stronger than before, it's like his power's tripled overnight ".

I heard this and was dumbstruck, "Are you kidding me?". That was the only thing that came out of my mouth.

"No your highness". Maxwell replied with his head lowered.

"If he is okay then why is he not awake?". I asked again.

"Your highness, the Second prince just needs a little rest... He'll come around soon". Maxwell replied.

"Alright, thank you". I said sincerely.

"My pleasure your highness". Maxwell said and stood up preparing to leave.

I suddenly remembered something so I stopped him, "Wait!". I uttered.

He turned to me and asked, "What is it your highness?". He asked trying to sound polite.

"About what just happened, a word of it must not get out... Not even to the king". I sternly said.

"Understood your highness". He said with a slight bow before he left the room.

Nickolas must not know anything about this until I am fully sure, since Ethan is still sleeping I decided to leave him, I shall come back to check on him by noon.

It's dawn already, because of him I couldn't sleep all night, I still can't believe I have found my mate.

Gosh I want to see him again so badly, his scent is still so evident in my head, his silver orbs that seemed to pierce my skin and his well sculpted face that I just can't seem to get enough of. "How can I see you?". I murmured.

While I was lost in my Fantasy I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in", I said Indifferently knowing it can only be Ruby, but the door opened and to my surprise it was someone I least expected.

"Selene!!". Her melodious voice rang in my ears making my eyes widen in shock.

"Mom?". I said doubtful.

"My baby". She replied and moved closer to me.

I quickly sat up straight on the bed and stretched out my hands forward for her to take it.

"Mom .......". I couldn't describe the joy I felt inside.

"My baby". She squealed and hugged me tight.

Feeling that familiar warm embrace I hugged her tighter, "Mom.... How have you been? Did dad allow to come here? Are you okay?". I asked in a rush out of worry.

Since the day I was born and confirmed blind, I was named a jinx so It was advised for My mom Crystol the Luna of the blood moon pack, to stay away from me so as to avoid me jinxing the other children in her womb.

I don't know how but my Father accepted it and separates us, and ever since I couldn't see my own mother at will, unless I completed a mission or won a battle, thank heavens the mind link between us was not terminated, because that is our only means of communication. That's why seeing her here scares me, she must have sneaked out to see me.

She pulled away from the hug and ignored all my questions,"My love, why have you become skinnier_ gosh I missed you badly". She said with her warm hands on my cheeks.

"Mom... Did you sneak here?". I asked again.

"No my love I didn't, your dad gave me permission himself ". She replied and patted my hair gently.

"He did?". I uttered in disbelief.

"Yes baby, I was also shocked but who cares about that, all that matters is that I'm here.... So tell me how are you?".

"I.... I'm okay mom, I'm doing pretty well". I replied trying my best to hide all my troubles behind a perfectly forged smile.

I suddenly heard her sigh and then her hands slowly held mine and she said, "Selene, I know well enough things have not been easy for you, so please don't keep anything from me okay....". She pleaded and I felt a wet sensation on my hands.

I pulled my hands from hers and slowly reached for her face, "please don't cry", I said as I wiped her tears.

"Alright_ Alright". She said and wiped her tears. "Oh is it true you will be visiting that witch today?".

She suddenly asked and of course I noticed the sudden hostility in her voice. I have no idea of what might have happened between mom and aunt Agatha but one thing is for sure their hatred for each other is on another level.

"Yes mom, I have to talk to her about the new hybrids around, she might have a solution". I replied.

"Alright dear, be careful okay, she might look weak and innocent but that's just a facade, she's got a lot of sneaky tricks in her sleeves", She said and I noticed her immediate anxiousness because unknowingly she clenched my hands tighter.

Something must have transpired between the both of them, but I will not ask mom... If she wanted me to know she would have told me, do instead I will ask aunt Agatha.

"Let's leave that witch aside, I brought your favourite for ....". I heard her say excitedly.

"Really". I smiled lightly, it's been a while since I've eaten Mom's handmade strawberry cookies, those yummies are my favorite.

"Yup! Ruby bring them in". She said and I heard the door open.

The yummy fresh scent of freshly baked strawberry cookies wafted into my nose, making my poor mouth water.

"I love you Mom!". I exclaimed in extreme happiness.

"Hmmm, you love me or the cookies?". She said sarcastically and I bursted into laughter, "of course I love you more". I replied.

"Better", she said happily before adding, "My love, brush those teeth before you eat okay, I gotta go now".

My mood went down rapidly on hearing this, I don't want her to go yet... I have not even told her about my mate but I have no choice,"okay mom, take care of yourself". I said and she pecked me on the forehead before exiting the room leaving Ruby and I.

I gently reached for the jar of cookies and fed my stomach.

"My lady you haven't __". Ruby was surely about to warn me about not brushing but I shushed her almost immediately.

"Shhhhh... Come closer". I said.

She came closer and I shoved some cookies in her hands, "Don't Tell on me okay".

She bursted into laughter on hearing me and then she said, "Thank you my lady".

"Don't mention it", I replied.

The thought of my mate colluded my head again and I couldn't control my smile.

"My lady, what are you thinking about?". Ruby's voice snapped me out of my fantasy.

"No one!". I hurriedly replied.

"Ohhhh?". She said suspiciously and I wanted to deny again but then I heard the sound of wings flapping.

"My lady it's The witches bird!". Ruby said with fear in her voice.
