Silas POV – Hollow Spine, Eclipse Altar

Blood hit the altar.

But it wasn’t Ethan’s.

It wasn’t Lucien’s.

It was his.

Silas drove the dagger into his own shoulder deep, clean, deliberate.

The altar sizzled. The stone lit with runes that hadn’t glowed in centuries.

Lucien stumbled back, shocked. “What have you done?”

Silas breathed through the pain. “I ended it on my own terms.”

Silas’s POV – Hollow Spine, After the Eclipse

The altar was cold now.

Quiet.

The runes had faded, leaving behind only bloodstains and cracked stone.

Silas stood beneath the breaking skywhere the moonlight no longer bled.

Ethan was beside him, his hand steady on Silas’s back. Silent.

Selene stepped forward.

She looked like a ghost wrapped in silver fire. And yet, somehow, she felt more real than anything in this world.

“I’m not here to rule,” she said softly.

“I’m here to end the rot.”

Lucien knelt before her, bound by vines that had risen from the stone itself.

Still defiant.

Still bitter.

“Do it,” he spat. “Finish it.”

Selene met his eyes.

And then

She turned away.

“No,” she said. “That would make me you.”

Ethan’s POV – Walking Away

The council chambers, the wars, the politics they felt like another lifetime now.

He looked at Silas… Bruised, marked, beautiful in the wreckage.

“Are you sure?” he asked.

Silas nodded. “I’m done being a weapon.

And we’re done being pawns.”

He took Ethan’s hand, their fingers lacing like breath and blood.

“What now?” Ethan asked.

Silas smiled. “We build something no prophecy can touch.”

Marcus’s POV – Crescent Campfire

He watched the horizon turn gold.

Selene sat beside him, legs drawn to her chest.

He didn’t speak. Didn’t know how to say I’m sorry I didn’t know you. I’m sorry I failed her.

She broke the silence.

“She tried to protect me. That’s why she left me with the forest witches.”

Marcus nodded.

“She didn’t fail you,” he whispered. “She saved all of us.”

They watched the stars fade.

And for the first time in years… there was no war.

Nina’s POV – Prison Tower

She sat in silence, the cold biting her wrists.

No magic. No escape.

Just time.

The door creaked.

Selene stepped in.

Nina rose slowly, like a ghost meeting a mirror.

“You came to gloat?”

“No,” Selene said. “To forgive.”

Nina blinked. “Why?”

“Because I refuse to carry what you tried to break in me.”

She turned.

Left her in silence.

And outside the door…

Nina cried.

For the first time in her life.

Forest Beyond the Packs

Silas and Ethan stood at the edge of nowhere.

They’d left behind titles. Crowns. Even names.

Just two men scarred, mated, alive.

Ethan brushed his thumb across Silas’s bond mark.

“No more fate?”

Silas shook his head. “Only choice.”

They kissed slow, real, sacred.

Because love was never written in stars.

It was forged in ruin.

And theirs had survived everything.

The Moon turned full again.

Not bleeding. Not broken.

Just watching.

And this time

It wasn’t choosing.

The Moon roared overhead no longer silent.

The eclipse pulsed.

And something ancient awoke.

The altar cracked.

And the mark on Silas’s chest burned white.

No longer a curse.

A seal.

Ethan’s POV – Chained, Watching

He watched Silas fall to one knee.

The blade dripped crimson.

But the Moon didn't strike him down.

It crowned him.

A beam of light poured from the eclipse, wrapping around Silas like a second skin.

The chains around Ethan burst… vaporized .

He rushed forward, catching Silas as he collapsed.

“I didn’t choose you to die,” Ethan whispered.

Silas smiled weakly. “I didn’t die.”

And then

The earth shook.

Lucien’s POV – As the Prophecy Fails

“No… no, that’s not what it said…”

Lucien backed away, hand shaking.

The altar wasn’t sealing fate anymore.

It was purging it.

The false prophecy… his prophecy was unraveling.

He turned to flee

And froze.

Because there, at the broken doorway, stood a figure cloaked in silver.

A girl.

Young. Unscarred.

Her eyes… moonlit green.

Her presence… otherworldly.

Lucien whispered, “Selene…”

Marcus’s POV – Crescent Border

The pulse from Hollow Spine reached him even here.

A sonic boom of light and shadow.

A ripple that knocked warriors off their feet.

He turned north where the sky split with beams.

“Silas…”

He didn’t know if it was a death or a rebirth.

But either way, the world had changed.

Nina’s POV – Cliffside, Watching

She saw the sky shatter.

Felt the ground pull away beneath her.

And knew.

It was done.

The Moonborn had returned.

And for the first time in her life…

She had lost.

Hollow Spine

Selene stepped forward, silent.

Lucien dropped to his knees.

The Moon above cracked like glass.

And Silas rose from the altar, bathed in silver light, Ethan supporting him.

Selene’s voice rang out, soft but fierce.

“The prophecy ends now.

And the reckoning begins.”

Because the Moon may choose…

But it never protects without a price.
