The chaos backstage at the Grand Palais was my element.

It was a symphony of rustling silk, the hiss of steam irons, and the frenetic shouting of stylists adjusting final hemlines. In the middle of it all stood my vision made flesh: models wrapped in rich obsidian, deep emerald, and warm amber, cut into sharp, tailored silhouettes for the modern working woman. Every coat, every blazer, every structured dress bore my signature—intricate mosaic paneling that fractured light with every movement.

They called me a prodigy. A revolutionary in the world of Bellevaux fashion. But they didn't know the truth.

Every stitch, every geometric pattern, every hue I had chosen for this Autumn/Winter collection was born from a single, relentless obsession. For three years, I had been drawing a face. Not from a photograph, nor from a memory I could trace to a clear date, but from a silhouette that haunted the edges of my mind. A man with sharp, analytical features and eyes that held the cold precision of a winter sky.

I had built an entire brand just to draw him out into the light. I brought my collection to Bellevaux—the absolute center of the world's stage—because I knew if he existed, he would be in this sphere of power and art.

"Thirty seconds to your curtain call, Miss Avelline," the floor manager urged, checking her clip-board.

I took a deep breath, smoothing down my own dress—a emerald-and-black mosaic piece that fit like armor. I checked my reflection one last time. My jaw was set. My heart was pounding against my ribs like a caged bird. Tonight, I thought. If he is out there, he will see this.

The finale music swelled to a roaring crescendo. Outside, the applause sounded like thunder rolling through a valley. The models executed their final turn on the black mirrors of the runway and parted down the middle.

"Go," the manager whispered.

I stepped out from behind the velvet curtain into the blinding wash of white spotlights.

The heat of the lights hit me first, followed by the sheer scale of the crowd. Thousands of critics, buyers, celebrities, and titans of industry sat in the dark, their hands coming together in a deafening ovation. I walked to the center of the stage, forcing myself to project the absolute composure of a woman at the top of her world. I smiled, letting the incandescent joy of the achievement wash over me.

We did it, I thought. The mosaic had taken over Bellevaux.

Then, the stage lights shifted. The presenter announced the key sponsor of the syndicate, the man whose capital made this entire spectacle possible. The master of the Vale Group.

I began to turn my head toward the side entrance of the stage to welcome him, standard protocol for the finale. My movement was casual, confident.

Then my eyes locked onto the man stepping through the curtain.

My breath didn't just hitch; it felt as though the air had been violently pulled from my lungs. Time stretched into an agonizing, silent standstill. The deafening roar of the audience dissolved into a dull, muted hum.

It was him.

The charcoal suit. The posture of a man who commanded room without saying a word. The sharp, carved jawline and those piercing, calculating eyes I had sketched a thousand times in the dark corners of my studio. The man hidden in my sketchbook was no longer graphite and paper. He was standing twenty feet away from me, breathing, real, and moving across the black floor.

Arsen Vale.

A wave of shock slammed into me, so powerful my knees nearly buckled, but the sheer, predatory determination inside me locked them straight. For three years, I had chased a phantom. Now, the phantom had a name, a empire, and a presence that made the air around him feel charged with static.

I froze, my smile vanishing completely. I didn't care if the cameras caught the sudden shift in my expression. I didn't care what the fashion critics would write tomorrow. All that mattered was the shrinking distance between us.

He kept walking toward me. His face was a mask of cold, unbothered authority, but as he drew closer, I saw a flicker of something in his eyes. A recognition? No, it was curiosity. The sudden realization that he was walking into a trap he hadn't known was set.

He stopped in front of me. Up close, his energy was suffocating. He smelled of rain, cedar, and old money.

"Bellevaux has always been a beacon…" he began, his voice a low, smooth baritone that sent a tremor down my spine, though his public speech was purely automatic.

He extended his hand toward me. A simple, polite gesture for the press.

I looked down at his hand, then back up into his eyes. My mind was screaming with a million questions. Where have you been? Why did you haunt me? Do you even know who I am?

I swallowed hard, stepping forward, and wrapped my fingers around his.

Electric heat snapped between us the instant our skin touched. It was a physical shock, a burning warmth that clashed violently against the cold mask he wore. His grip was firm, unyielding, but I held on just as tightly, refusing to let him see me falter.

We turned together toward the blinding flash of a hundred camera lenses. The flashes flickered like lightning, casting jagged shadows across our faces. To the world, we were the vision of success—the brilliant designer and the ruthless billionaire partner.

But as I stood beside him, feeling the solid, dangerous warmth of his shoulder against mine, I knew the truth.

The mosaic wasn't finished. I had drawn his face into existence, but the real mystery was just beginning. He was no longer a secret hidden in the pages of my book.

He was right here. And I was never going to let him disappear again.

The rain fell softly outside the villa. The sound echoed gently against the windows as evening settled across the hills of Bellevaux. For the first time in many years, Arsen and Lyra stood together before the hidden door inside the villa. A door that nobody except the two of them had ever entered. Not David. Not Clara. Not Amelia. Not even Mrs. Vale. Only Arsen and Lyra. Today would be different. Because standing beside them were their children. Orion Vale. Already an adult. A global entertainer admired by millions. And Estella Vale. A high school student who had inherited Lyra's creativity and Arsen's stubbornness. Both looked confused. Very confused. "Why are we here?" Estella asked. Arsen exchanged a glance with Lyra. Then he smiled. A rare smile. "We want to show you something." Orion immediately became suspicious. "Whenever Father says that, something strange happens." Lyra laughed. "Your father and I agree." "That's even more concerning," Orion replied

  • The Stranger Hidden in My Sketchbook   Chapter 95-Arsen's anxiety immediately increased

The next morning Lyra found herself sitting inside one of the most expensive private hospitals in Bellevaux. Against her will. Entirely against her will. Mrs. Vale had appeared at breakfast wearing sunglasses, carrying a designer handbag, and speaking with the confidence of a military commander. "We're going to the hospital." Lyra blinked. "Why?" "Because you didn't finish dinner." "That's not a disease." "It is in this family." Five minutes later everyone somehow ended up in the car. Even Mr. Vale. Nobody knew why he was there. Not even Mr. Vale. "I was reading the newspaper," he complained. Mrs. Vale ignored him. "Your son needs emotional support." "I'm not the pregnant one." "Exactly." The argument continued for twenty minutes. By the time they arrived at the hospital, Lyra already had a headache. The hospital staff immediately recognized the Vale family. Half the nurses looked nervous. The other half looked excited. One young nurse wh

  • The Stranger Hidden in My Sketchbook   Chapter 93 - Baby Vale

The argument about the baby's name began less than six hours after Baby was born. Lyra was still resting in bed, exhausted but happy, while the newborn slept peacefully in the transparent bassinet beside her. The atmosphere inside the villa had become warm and lively. Family members came and went, bringing flowers, gifts, and endless congratulations. Unfortunately, the arrival of the first Vale heir in a generation also brought something unexpected. Everyone suddenly had opinions. Especially about his name. "I think Alexander Vale sounds perfect," Mr. Vale declared confidently. Mrs. Vale immediately shook her head. "Too common." "Common? Alexander is timeless." "It sounds like every businessman in Bellevaux." David, who was standing nearby with a tablet, quietly cleared his throat. "I have prepared a list of potential names ranked by historical significance, pronunciation, international adaptability, and future corporate branding." The entire room stared at him. Amelia bu

  • The Stranger Hidden in My Sketchbook   Chapter 92-A strange sensation.

Nine months passed more quickly than anyone expected. The world believed Lyra Aveline had become increasingly private after marrying Arsen Vale. Rumors spread endlessly. Some magazines claimed she had retired. Others insisted she was secretly launching a global luxury brand. A few conspiracy theories suggested she was traveling abroad creating exclusive collections for royalty. The truth was much simpler. Lyra was home. At the villa. Safe. Protected. Loved. And very, very pregnant. At first she protested. Repeatedly. "Carl, I'm not made of glass." Arsen looked up from his tablet. "You almost tripped yesterday." "I stepped on a pillow." "Exactly." "Normal people step on pillows." "Pregnant women carrying my son do not." Lyra groaned. Mrs. Vale laughed. David quietly left the room before becoming involved. Over the months, Arsen became increasingly protective. Then protective became an understatement. Every appointment happened insid

  • The Stranger Hidden in My Sketchbook   Chapter 91-bittersweet crossed his eyes

The wedding day arrived beneath a clear summer sky. For the first time in months, Lyra felt strangely calm. Not because she wasn't nervous. Not because thousands of eyes wouldn't be watching. But because every impossible dream she had ever carried was standing at the end of the aisle waiting for her. Arsen. Or perhaps Carl. The boy from the orphanage. The man she had secretly loved. The man who had secretly loved her. The father of her child. The man who would become her husband in a matter of minutes. The wedding venue had been transformed into something that looked as though it belonged in a fairy tale. White roses cascaded from crystal arches. Golden lights shimmered above the guests like stars. A full symphony orchestra performed a gentle arrangement that filled the grand hall with emotion. Every detail reflected elegance. Every detail reflected the Vale family. Every detail reflected Lyra. Her wedding gown was breathtaking. Layers of ivory
