Chapter 27

"Come on, Open up!!!" Damien pressed the button to the elevator about three times but it wasn't coming forth. So he abandoned it and made his way towards the stairs, running down like he was a pro at it.

He got to the lobby, panting, with his eyes flashing at every corner, trying to see if he could sight Melissa.

Not seeing her in sight, Damien approached the reception area. "Did you see Melissa?"

The receptionist, who was seated behind the desk, instantly rose to her feet at the sound of her Boss's voice.

"Yes, Sir. She just rushed out. She said she had an emergency.”

Damien cursed under his breath. He rushed out of the office building, avoiding the looks the staff were giving him.

He finally sighted Melissa getting into a taxi but by the time he got to her, the driver sped off.

"Oh Damien, What have you done?!" He sighed, bringing his hands to his forehead, and massaging his temple.
