25. Dirty Lie

Katherine's eyes widened, her earlier distress momentarily forgotten as her heart started to beat in her chest. She turned to Mrs. Rojas, her voice laced with fear. "What do you mean?" she asked, her tone shaky.

Sebastian stepped forward, his expression filled with urgency. "Mom, please tell us. Who killed Maya?" His voice was filled with a mixture of concern and determination.

Mrs. Rojas sighed, her eyes scanning the room before she spoke. "I have reasons to suspect that Lillian was involved," she finally said, her words landing heavily in the tense atmosphere.

Sebastian's face contorted with disbelief. "Mom, you know that's not true! Lillian would never do something like that," he protested, his voice firm.

Katherine's eyes narrowed as she glared at her husband. "Sebastian, you're blinded by your love for Lillian. Open your eyes! She's capable of anything," she interjected, her tone accusing.
