26. Pain of loosing

Sebastian sat beside Lillian on the edge of their bed, the room enveloped in a soft glow from the bedside lamp. Lillian's eyes were red-rimmed from tears shed earlier, but her gaze was steady as she looked at her husband, searching for reassurance amidst the turmoil.

Sebastian reached out and took Lillian's hand in his, his touch warm and comforting. "I'll do everything in my power to uncover the truth, Lillian," he said softly, his voice filled with resolve. "We'll find out what really happened to Maya."

Lillian nodded, a mixture of gratitude and uncertainty playing across her features. She squeezed Sebastian's hand, grateful for his unwavering support.
