MARCUS'S POINT OF VIEW

"Hola, amigo!" David said as he entered, and I hadn't expected to see him today.

"You arrived early, David; I expected you to be late; did your mother scold you again?"

"Well, every corner of that house screaming how boring my family was, and they always praised my brother," he sat and set his luggage aside.

"There's no news on that, especially since you're the youngest; they probably thought you wouldn't bring any luck from the family, despite the fact that I know you're one of the top three youngest billionaires; why don't you tell them?" I replied.

"Dunno," David shrugged, "but I know one thing."

"What?"

"If my family finds out I'm richer than they thought! They will kneel and beg me!" he exclaimed happily.

"Crazy," I chuckled, shaking my head.

"Speaking of crazy, didn't you mention the crazy plan you devised? Did she bite the bait? How did the woman react? Care to tell me?" David was clearly excited, and I didn't want to think he came here to gossip.

"Why are you so interested in knowing?" I asked, closing the book I was reading.

"Why not? Don't you know how many miles I flew all the way here just to find out what happened?" "Because we're friends, I support you in any decision you make."

"So, David, you came here to hear the gossip? You never change," I remarked.

"Let's not talk about my unchanging self because we have no choice but to embrace it, but I'm curious about this girl you mentioned to me. Is she that beautiful that a top one billionaire would spend a couple of million just to find her?"

I laugh because of his conclusions, and this kid is smarter than he thought; he just doesn't use it to annoy his freaking family. Despite meeting at the grand party three years ago, we become the closest and end up being friends.

"Marcus, aren't you supposed to respond to me?"

"You already know my answer, David, and besides, if that girl is important to me, I wouldn't hire so many investigators just to find her."

"Tsk. You mess with my mind, Marcus. Only a simple answer, that's what I need," he groans.

"Whatever," I said, standing up and stretching my arms, "I have no available room here, so don't you dare stay here."

"Hey, Marcus! You made a promise!" he yelled.

"I did, but you didn't notify me of your arrival, and I don't have a maid to ask to clean the room you'll be filling in unless you want to do it yourself."

"As usual, Marcus, you did it on purpose and expect me to clean the room downstairs," he said.

"Good luck cleaning the room, David," I wink.

I took the stairs and went downstairs; this is my only home. Not because I lack funds, but because I don't require as many houses. Apart from the fact that David visits me once a month but stays here longer.

I approached the massive window and gazed out at the city in front of me, which became even more beautiful as the night fell. It's a relief that I bought this luxurious condo and chose this penthouse. Otherwise, I'd be stuck in that filthy house.

As my gaze landed on the restaurant where we used to date, a flash of memory returned to me. I shook my head, reached for the brandy in the nearby cabinet, and poured myself. She abandoned me. I had no choice but to let her flee because she preferred that man to me.

I trust him, but he betrays me.

Krystal's Point of View

I checked the refrigerator and sighed when I saw it was empty, so I grabbed the water jug and poured it into my glass. Then I close the fridge before approaching my bag to see how much money is left, but to my surprise, there is no money left.

Later on, I recall my manager firing me for no apparent reason, which is why I'm looking for work and end up being Marcus's wife, or should I say, acting wife. After thinking about what my mother and I discussed at the hospital, I crumpled my wallet tightly.

She stayed with the man who does not love her. I can't believe mom was aware of Uncle's betrayal, but I shouldn't be surprised if she was. Victor is such a pain in the a*s that I'm not going to let my mother stay with him any longer. I need to work harder just to get out of this mess.

"Where is your mother, Krystal?"

Speaking of the devil.

"Why? She's not here."

"Tsk! Do you have any spare cash?"

"No, and I'm not going to lend you even though I have," I said. "You already took our savings, and that's enough for you to spend, especially since I need to save more money for my mother."

"When did you learn to be frugal, huh?"

"Me stingy?" I scoffed, "I'm not, Victor. You were the selfish one, so find a job to support your hobbies."

"Did she teach you how to be disrespectful to someone older than you? You learn how to be disobedient. Oh, I forgot. You and your mother didn't get the chance finishing your studies, my bad."

Because of his sharp tongue, my brow raised. He dares to mock us because I didn't give him money? Shameless.

"At the very least, we're not asking you to find a job, and I never asked you to support my mother's needs; she must be numb for allowing you to stay, even though you're lying to her."

"You think she'll believe you? Not a chance, Krystal," he smirked.

"Don't need, Victor, and I don't need my mom's permission before kicking you out; we don't need you anymore, and I can take care of her, so pack your belongings and leave."

"You're crazy," he shook his head and laughed, "I'm important to your mother, so she's not going to let her daughter decide; maybe we can work this out? Give me money and I'll take care of you," he winks at me with a gross grin.

"Come on," he said as he approached me and kissed my neck forcibly, which I didn't expect.

"Let go of me, you animal!" I shouted as I try to stop him from attacking me, but he's stronger than I thought.

Fortunately, I had left the knife nearby without even thinking about it. I took it before kicking him in the balls, causing him to scream in pain and inadvertently slash his face with the knife.

"B*tch!" he screams, clutching his face and balls.

"If you touch me again, I'll cut your balls off!" I grab my bag and dash out the door.

I run faster until I can't see it anymore, then I come to a halt and look at the knife stained with Victor's blood. I throw it into the river before taking a deep breath and screaming even louder on this bridge.

I'm leaving this place with my mother and I'll make sure Victor won't mess up our lives again... Not a chance.
