The Supreme Alpha POV
“We can only hope” he said, and it almost looked like he smiled at me.
I smiled back, and his smile fainted as quickly as it appeared.
“I’m sorry, but you have your mothers smile”
“My mother? You knew my mother?” I asked, feeling somewhat assaulted by his sudden outburst.
“Yes I knew your mother! She was kind and gentle, and I was heartbroken, when I heard that she died” he answered.
“She was killed!” I correct him.
“By your father?”
“Yes” I answered shortly not really liking where this conversation was going.
“Why?” he asked sounding out of breath
“She poisoned me, and my dad sentences her to death by his own hand”
“So, it’s true. I didn’t believe it. She loved you more than anything. She would have given her life for you.”

Luke POVI felt prepared and ready, like this was what I had been waiting for whole my life.We were standing in a line outside of the arena. We were 8 pledgers in total. Three pledgers from our pack; me, Kate, and the asshole Tomas. Tomas was the favorite among all the pledgers. He was built like a machine, like he was carved out stone. The Supreme Alpha POVI watched as she fell to the ground, her body limbless and her skin turning pale.I felt Luke’s agony as my own as he ran towards her, ripping the big grey wolf off of her and pulling her close to him.Up till then it had been exciting to watch the pledger on the obstacle course. Tomas, Kate, and Luke had done a surprisingly good job. Luke and Kate had helped one another throughout the course and their ability to support and endorse each other was a sight for sore eyes. Their teamwork were impeccable, and Kate amazed me more than any of the other pledgers. She moved both quickly and elegantly through the course. Mathias had lost it! Openly attacking the Supreme was a certain death sentence.Didn’t he hear her small weak whimper? The whimper that meant that there was still hope, that Kate was still alive.It was like he turned mad filled with rage somehow all directed at the Supreme Alpha.I couldn’t let him hurt either of them. The Supreme POVI felt weak, but that was the prize of my actions.24hours had gone and as natural part of the trials we always had a big ball to celebrate the different packs and their pledgers before the ceremony the following day, where I would choose those I would take with me.But I was so tired almost not even being able to stand on my legs. Luke POVI went home to get ready for the ball and more important to see my aunt Lucy. I had been too busy making sure that Kate was okay, not leaving her sight, that I forgot all about my aunt.Me and Kate had left early to eat breakfast and talk before the trials, so I didn’t even say goodbye to her before I left.She must have been worried sick seeing us the leave the arena, but now that I thought about it I didn’t remember seeing her there. But then again I were too busy not dying and completing the trials that she could have been there without me even noticing.Lately I tended to forget my surroundings around the Supreme, like she was the only thing that mattered. Luke POVThe great hall was decorated with candle lights and white almost luminating flowers everywhere. A great buffet with lavish dinning adorned the hall and the round tables for dining wore decorated with beautiful center pieces. There was a life band playing soft music in the background and a dance floor for later use with sparkling lights flowing over the it.At the end of the hall was a throne like seating arrangement for the Supreme Alpha and the alpha’s.I looked around trying to spot somebody I knew, but I couldn’t see neither my aunt nor Kate anywhere.I felt a tap on my shoulder, and I turned around.A light pink almost nude dress with a princess seam style embellished Kate’s body and she looked like something out of a fairytale.“You look beautiful” I said and smiled at her kissing her hand.“Me!? What about you! Damn Luke, you look, I mean.. wow…!” she said alle flustered.

The Supreme Alpha POVLucian helped me to my seat as Steffan walked away and into the crowd. This kind of thing wasn’t him and he thought it to be more of a spectacle and a charade than an actual social gathering of fun.As I was seated I was admiring Luke’s transformation. He looked so handsome in his new silver suit, and I was glad he received it in time. I could see he felt confident in it and that the other girls in the room suddenly were noticing him. Luke POVThe muscular figure stepped into the light, and I recognized Tomas immediately.He looked deranged and his usual cool facade was falling apart, and he looked broken."Please forgive me" he said almost sobbing as he raised a knife towards us.Steffan who were with me in the wine cellar smoothly paraded his attack and Tomas went flying into one of the wine racks making the bottle crash towards the floor.But almost as quickly as he were hit just as fast he was on his feet again once more attacking us.
