The supreme POV
Lucian and I had walked around the outside of the arena discussing women’s rights in wolf packs and how some packs still suppressed female wolves taking away their choices and voices. For an older alpha he was very new thinking, which surprised me since the packs that were secluded up in the mountains or deep the woods away from other packs often were more likely to live by the old ways since no one would interfere.
He seemed both warm and heartfelt as well as odd and distant. He didn’t seem like a threat or like a man with an agenda, not like the other two alphas, Ezrod and Mazon. He didn’t talk much, but when he spoke, every word was chosen carefully, and every sentence was thought through to the last detail. His words resonated with wisdom from a past filled with melancholy.
As I was talking to Lucian, the arena was being turned into an obstacle course which would challenge the pledger’s agility, strength, power, and st
The Supreme Alpha POV“We can only hope” he said, and it almost looked like he smiled at me.I smiled back, and his smile fainted as quickly as it appeared.“I’m sorry, but you have your mothers smile”“My mother? You knew my mother?” I asked, feeling somewhat assaulted by his sudden outburst.“Yes I knew your mother! She was kind and gentle, and I was heartbroken, when I heard that she died” he answered.“She was killed!” I correct him.“By your father?”“Yes” I answered shortly not really liking where this conversation was going.“Why?” he asked sounding out of breath“She poisoned me, and my dad sentences her to death by his own hand”“So, it’s true. I didn’t believe it. She loved you more than anything. She would have given her life for you.”“And so she
Luke POVI felt prepared and ready, like this was what I had been waiting for whole my life.We were standing in a line outside of the arena. We were 8 pledgers in total. Three pledgers from our pack; me, Kate, and the asshole Tomas. Tomas was the favorite among all the pledgers. He was built like a machine, like he was carved out stone. Muscle I didn’t even know excited were outline perfectly on him. He was the kind man with an eightpack instead of a sixpack. He didn’t look like an 18-year-old boy – he looked like a man or a Greek god.The other 5 pledgers were from the other three packs. Alpha Mazon hadn’t allowed any of his packmembers to pledge to the Supreme due to her being a woman. So left was 1 pledger from Alpha Lucian pack in the mountains, and 2 pledgers from the pack in the north and 2 from the in south. Just likes their alphas, they didn’t say much, but all were looking fierce and beyond ready.I caught the other
The Supreme Alpha POVI watched as she fell to the ground, her body limbless and her skin turning pale.I felt Luke’s agony as my own as he ran towards her, ripping the big grey wolf off of her and pulling her close to him.Up till then it had been exciting to watch the pledger on the obstacle course. Tomas, Kate, and Luke had done a surprisingly good job. Luke and Kate had helped one another throughout the course and their ability to support and endorse each other was a sight for sore eyes. Their teamwork were impeccable, and Kate amazed me more than any of the other pledgers. She moved both quickly and elegantly through the course. And I clearly underestimated her.Tomas psychic and size were incredible. A more suitable warrior, you wouldn’t find. One of Lucian pledgers caught my eye as well, but as he fell on his ass after attacking Kate, he was out.Luke had used hit wit to complete the different tasks and very smartly used t
Mathias had lost it! Openly attacking the Supreme was a certain death sentence.Didn’t he hear her small weak whimper? The whimper that meant that there was still hope, that Kate was still alive. It was like he turned mad filled with rage somehow all directed at the Supreme Alpha.I couldn’t let him hurt either of them. Some part of me loved them both. The Supreme didn’t get up to fight him or flee the scene. She stayed by Kate’s side and leaned over her using her body to shield Kate from the attack coming to towards them.I jumped in front of Mathias’ wolf as he tried to attack the Supreme and dep into all my strength buried deep inside of me where my wolf resonated.I held his wolf’s head as he tried to rip me into pieces.“GO!” I screamed at her, and she got up immediately and carried Kate with her.Beta Steffan and Alpha Lucian were on their feet and pinned Mathias down. Steff
The Supreme POVI felt weak, but that was the prize of my actions.24hours had gone and as natural part of the trials we always had a big ball to celebrate the different packs and their pledgers before the ceremony the following day, where I would choose those I would take with me.But I was so tired almost not even being able to stand on my legs. Healing took a lot more of an effort than its opponent. And being able to balance the two was hard, but if it was easy then the Moon Goddess would have gifted it upon all her beloved wolves. It sounded so simple being able to heal and save whoever I wanted, but giving life always come with a prize and to give, you must take.We had been staying at Alpha Lucian accommodations, provided by Alpha Ezrod, not wanting to return to my tent even though I knew that Kate had went home and that Luke was staying with her.I hadn’t seen Luke or Kate since the trials, but by the way I was feeling, I knew she woul
Luke POVI went home to get ready for the ball and more important to see my aunt Lucy. I had been too busy making sure that Kate was okay, not leaving her sight, that I forgot all about my aunt.Me and Kate had left early to eat breakfast and talk before the trials, so I didn’t even say goodbye to her before I left. She must have been worried sick seeing us the leave the arena, but now that I thought about it I didn’t remember seeing her there. But then again I were too busy not dying and completing the trials that she could have been there without me even noticing.Lately I tended to forget my surroundings around the Supreme, like she was the only thing that mattered. Even though I had been taken care of Kate or at least trying to, my thoughts had been circling the Supreme. Kate thought I were both annoying as well as overreacting, not knowing how close she had been to dying. But I kept my promised to Alpha Lucian and avoided Kate&rsquo
Luke POVThe great hall was decorated with candle lights and white almost luminating flowers everywhere. A great buffet with lavish dinning adorned the hall and the round tables for dining wore decorated with beautiful center pieces. There was a life band playing soft music in the background and a dance floor for later use with sparkling lights flowing over the it.At the end of the hall was a throne like seating arrangement for the Supreme Alpha and the alpha’s.I looked around trying to spot somebody I knew, but I couldn’t see neither my aunt nor Kate anywhere.I felt a tap on my shoulder, and I turned around.A light pink almost nude dress with a princess seam style embellished Kate’s body and she looked like something out of a fairytale.“You look beautiful” I said and smiled at her kissing her hand.“Me!? What about you! Damn Luke, you look, I mean.. wow…!” she said alle flustered.
The Supreme Alpha POVLucian helped me to my seat as Steffan walked away and into the crowd. This kind of thing wasn’t him and he thought it to be more of a spectacle and a charade than an actual social gathering of fun.As I was seated I was admiring Luke’s transformation. He looked so handsome in his new silver suit, and I was glad he received it in time. I could see he felt confident in it and that the other girls in the room suddenly were noticing him. Especially Kate. The boy was slowly turning into a man.I felt a hand on my wrist and noticed Lucians worried eyes on me.“Are you okay?” he asked. “Please don’t take it the wrong way, you look ravishing as always, even more tonight, but you seem off”“Thank you for your concern, but I will be alright” I smiled politely feeling weaker by the minute. Before he could continue I change the subject.“Have you seen Alpha
