Chapter 303

Author: DuckDuckJoe
The crowd was frantic.

A tumult of screamings and shoutings bombarded their ears. Chester's voice was swallowed whole by the clamor of the crowd.

Giselle moved forward with the flow of the crowd.

There was only darkness ahead. Everyone skimmed the walls as they walked. There was a faint source of light in front of them.

Before Giselle could even suppress her annoyance, a hand suddenly grabbed onto her wrist.

The palm of this person's hand was slightly calloused. Her skin became a little sore from the slight abrasion.

It was the hand of a woman.

Giselle did not struggle against the woman grabbing her. Instead, she let her pull her forward.

They were headed in the opposite direction from everybody else.

During this time, Giselle had a sudden moment of clarity.

The faint light allowed her to recognize the back and gait of the person in front of her. It revealed the fact that this woman was Angela.

Still, Giselle remained unperturbed.

  • The Sweetest Revenge   Chapter 387

How could Matthew not read between the lines? He looked livid, but in the end, he could only watch Jenna leave. Now that Jenna was gone, Crystal resumed her show and let her tears fall freely.Unfortunately, Matthew did not feel any compassion for her this time. All he felt was frustration and annoyance."Matthew, I—""Stop crying. Let's call it a day. I'm just going to go home now."He did not even offer to send her to the hospital to get her injuries checked. He just abandoned her with indifference and went home feeling agitated."Matthew…""Stop calling after him. He's already gone." Angela held her shoulder in one hand as she stopped Crystal, all the while feeling mildly annoyed."I told you that a man's heart is not reliable. If you'd listened to me from the start and given him the love bug, do you think you would be suffering today?"Crystal remained silent. She remained adamant about defending herself. "But that would've been cheating. If he likes me only because he's

What followed next was the very obvious smugness in Crystal's eyes. Her hair was in such a mess that it looked like a chicken coop. The makeup on her face had long melted from all the tears she had cried. She knew Matthew would protect her, so she was not afraid, even though she was getting beaten up.Jenna was nothing but a pitiful and haggard wife whose husband had gotten sick of her. What did she have to flaunt about? The more shrewd Jenna was, the lesser the guilt Matthew felt.Crystal, who seemed to have caught onto this, continued, "Jenna, why don't we all speak frankly with each other? I wouldn't want to make it difficult for Matthew either."That pretentious act of being a considerate person was nauseating."Matthew no longer likes you. The one he loves is me. If you're willing to walk away from this marriage without taking anything with you, I assure you that I will treat Belle like my own. I'll never let her suffer."Indeed, Isabelle was a likeable child. Nonethele

"You're not even giving me the respect I deserve, so why should I put up with you?" Jenna thought.Jenna looked at Matthew and felt a disappointment deeper than any she had ever had. She recomposed herself and calmly said, "Let's just get a divorce, Matthew. You're the one who wronged me in this marriage."If you don't want to walk out of this marriage penniless, don't even think about fighting for Isabelle's custody."Jenna had raised Isabelle all on her own.In the past six years, she had been the only one concerned about Isabelle. Matthew only cared about his work and was rarely ever at home.It could be said that he never spent much time with Isabelle at all."Penniless? There's no way!" Crystal immediately objected in a shrill voice. It only came to her belatedly that she had overreacted. She hurriedly put on a piteous expression. "You shouldn't do this, Jenna. Mr. Jenkins has been entertaining clients tirelessly just to make a living."He was even suffering from gastric b

Someone opened the door from the outside. The restaurant manager held the spare key in his hand as he excused himself to a corner, all the while trembling.A woman who seemed to be around 20 years old marched into the room, grabbed the ashtray from the table and was about to smash it into the back of Jenna's head.In the nick of time, Giselle realized what was about to happen. She released Matthew's hand and raised her arm to block the attack. The glass ashtray slammed into her shoulders, causing her to groan.Giselle's eyes were cold. She endured the pain, snatched it over, and slammed it into the person's shoulders forcefully while the person stared in horror.Another blood-curdling scream resonated through the air.The onlookers were scared that someone might die, so being the hypocrites that they were, they came over and pulled them away.Right before they got pulled apart, Jenna yanked out a patch of Crystal's hair. It hurt so much that she passed out on the spot."This

With her husband berating her, Jenna felt even more dejected. She staggered, and Giselle went to hold her up from behind. Giselle snickered and said, "Mr. Jenkins, you brought your daughter along to celebrate the birthday of your mistress. Aren't you embarrassing yourself as well?""And who the hell are you?" Matthew scowled at Giselle.Giselle responded, "Take a guess."With Giselle here to defend Jenna, it had become a doubles match.Seeing how Matthew was defending her, Crystal took the chance to grab a few napkins and scrambled to wipe the stains on her chest. The rims of her eyes reddened as she plastered on a helpless look.Seeing this made Jenna nauseous. She furrowed her brow and said, "No amount of wiping is going to get rid of that skanky stench off you!"With such foul words coming out of Jenna's mouth, everyone who knew her had their jaws on the ground. The Jenna they knew was someone demure and refined.Even Matthew, her husband, looked at her in disbelief. After

Giselle stood behind Jenna. She stayed silent as she waited for Jenna to make the first move. After about two minutes, Jenna finally seemed to have recomposed herself. She turned around and asked hesitantly, "Ms. Stone, is Isabelle…""You don't have to worry about that. My friend's arriving soon. I'll have her take Isabelle out to play so you can have the space all to yourself."Giselle already had everything planned. Even the most minor details had been taken care of, leaving no room for any mistakes.Speak of the devil, and they shall appear. Emma made a fashionably late entrance in her high heels. Her outfit consisted of a tailored business suit and a pencil skirt. Jenna recognized her at a glance. Emma was the top divorce lawyer in Seaworth City, after all.Jenna had previously encountered videos of Emma on the internet. She had even used an alternative account to consult Emma on divorce matters.Jenna was surprised to find that she and Giselle were good friends. Perhaps t

Giselle pressed, "How about Holly and Lyla?"Harry had a sudden realization. "That reminds me of something. Lyla's constantly unwell, right? So my mom contacted a team of medical professionals overseas. They're going abroad soon." Giselle kept a straight face. She did not press any further. Chester already had someone look into why Holly was at the restaurant the other day. If there were any updates, Chester would definitely let Giselle know at the soonest.Later in the afternoon, Giselle went to pick Jenna up for their meeting.Jenna took her advice and started paying more attention to her outfits and makeup.Even though her makeup was not heavy, it was neat and refined. As she stood in one corner with a bag on her shoulder, she looked every bit the successful career woman."Ms. Schuler," Giselle called with her window rolled down.Seeing Giselle's car pull up, Jenna got into the passenger seat.Being with Giselle allowed her a moment of peace from the overwhelming feelin

  • The Sweetest Revenge   Chapter 380

"Harry, I'm warning you—delete that photo. I'll count to three!" Jonathan ground out the threat through clenched teeth. His expensive suit was a wrinkled mess, and after spending the night outside, the dark circles under his eyes made him look worn and haggard—nothing like his usual polished, elite self.Harry, clutching his phone, grinned like the little devil he was. "No way! I was just about to send it to the group chat too!"He was doing it on purpose, obviously.Jonathan dared to treat Giselle so badly before. He was nothing but a heartless jerk and deserved to be shot by a thousand arrows.Harry was just about to return to the Stone residence to grab his basketball. The moment he opened the door to his apartment unit, he saw Jonathan sitting there like a homeless man—eyes closed, leaning against the wall.Clearly, Jonathan was lying in wait for Giselle. But Harry wasn't the least bit afraid of Jonathan in his furious state. He even patted his own cheek provocatively and sa

  • The Sweetest Revenge   Chapter 379

Chester didn't spell it out for her. But Giselle was smart, so she'd get the message. She didn't act coy but did hesitate a little before saying, "Mr. Fordham, if you stay at my place tonight, I'm afraid I'll have to make you sleep on the couch."Chester was full of questions and raised an eyebrow. "Who's at your place?""Your cousin, Lindsay," she replied. Before he could ask more, the elevator dinged softly. As they stepped out, Chester finally noticed the white bandage wrapped around her wrist. His gaze darkened. "What happened?"Once they were inside, Giselle gave him a brief rundown of what had happened, explaining in passing why Jonathan had shown up in the middle of the night. She then went to the wardrobe and pulled out a comforter, aligning the couch cushions to make a makeshift bed. It wasn't exactly luxurious, but it would do for one night. It was certainly not as comfortable as an actual bed. But there weren't any other options at the moment. After tucking everythi
