Groaning in frustration, Vanessa gritted her teeth. “You are unbelievable, how can you just drop my engagement ring like that?” 

“Yes I know it’s my mistake but I am very sure that I dropped it in Bryan’s place.” Grabbing her bag, Megan added, “I’ll surely give him a call on my way to work and ask him to look for the ring, okay?” Without waiting for Vanessa's reply, she rushed out of the apartment and saved herself from the yelling. 

After Megan left, Vanessa slumped on the chair and pinched the bridge of her nose. After a few seconds, she raised her left hand and kept staring at the empty ring finger wondering if it was actually a good thing that Megan lost the ring. What if she was actually fated to lose the ring? Was she really better off without having to carry the load of an unwanted ring which sincerely meant nothing to her?
