Jealous

8:00 pm

Retro club.

"I thought it was a formal dinner date," Vanessa frowned.

"Uh-huh it is."

"But this is a club," she retorted.

Checking herself out in her mini handy mirror, Megan nodded her head. "This club also has pirate rooms, Bryan has already booked one for us. We are gonna drink, dance and have dinner later."

Vanessa sighed and nodded her head, "Alright but—” Stopping midway, she frowned when Megan suddenly grabbed her left hand and took off her ring. “What are you doing?”

"I am doing something that is right. Come on Ven, you are going to a club for a date, how can you wear this useless meaningless engagement ring?" Glaring at the ring, she frowned, "This is a handsome man repeller."

"Alright but let me keep it inside my bag at least."

"No way, I am gonna keep it and I'll return it to you later." Pushing Vanessa towards the entrance of the club, she beamed, "Let's go and par—tay."

…..

Inside the club.

Looking at the crowd, Vanessa raised her brows, "Wow, I thought people don't party on weekdays."

"You kidding me girl? People party any time they want to." Megan yelled.

"Hey Meg," a man shouted from a distance before waving at them.

Grabbing Vanessa's hand, she rushed towards him, squeezing through the crowd.

Pouncing into embrace, Megan chuckled, "Someone is looking handsome."

Wrapping his arms around her waist, he gave her a peck on her lips and smiled, "And you are looking hot and beautiful as usual. Too bad we are here and not in your place."

Biting her lower lip, she grinned, "Maybe you can drop me home later and we can mix it up."

"Ahh I love mixing."

Looking at the two of them who were very busy kissing each other, Vanessa walked away. She didn’t want to stay there and be a third wheel.

After ordering a drink for herself, she kept looking at Megan and the man who were still kissing, without realizing that there was someone staring at her too.

"Jealousy is a really bad thing and being jealous of your friend is the worst thing that one can do."

Looking at the stranger who had started talking to her out of nowhere, she frowned. "Excuse me?"

"Yes?"

"I am sorry but did you say something?"

Taking the two beer bottles from the bartender's hand, he replied, "If you were the one who is jealous of her friend then yes—" Offering her a bottle, he added, "I think I was talking to you."

"I already ordered mine.” Raising her brows at him, she charged him. “What makes you feel that I am jealous of my best friend? How can you say that without even knowing who I am?”

"Well, it's not hard to say that you are—I mean, the way you are staring at them is enough," Offering her the bottle again, he added, "Take it, it's not spiked or anything."

Just then Megan and the man approached them.

"Seems like the two of you have already met but before we start having fun, Vanessa this is Bryan." Megan introduced the two of them.

Bryan smiled and greeted her. "It's nice meeting you Vanessa, I have heard a lot about you from Meg."

"It's nice meeting you too," she smiled.

"And this is my best friend, Justin," Bryan said.

"And also your date for tonight," Megan added.

Rubbing his hands together, Bryan sighed, "Okay so the two of you should chat and get comfortable. Meg and I will be around."

After they left, Justin offered her the drink for the third time. "I guess you'll take it now."
