Unclear

It had been five years since her fiance Oliver Becker left saying he would come back very soon. He never told her the reason behind his disappearance, he just asked her to wait for him and promised her that he would definitely come back.

Ever since then, Vanessa had been waiting for him with a little hope in her heart that he would fulfill his promise.

She had met Oliver in college. He was a handsome hunk and she was an introvert who wasn't a fan of socializing. Everyone said that they would never work out but surprisingly they did.

After dating for almost a year, they moved in together. Oliver was very sweet and loving, he treated her quite well and she really enjoyed his company. At times she did feel there was something missing between them but she never really paid attention to it.

Six months before he left, he proposed to her and they got engaged. They had just started preparing for their wedding when he told her he had to leave.

Initially after he left, she felt very sad and lonely but later she got used to everything and her life kept moving at a very great pace both professionally and financially. She got promoted to a very high designation in her office, bought her own apartment and she started living a very comfortable life.

Everyone claimed and some even told her it would be hard for her without Oliver. Even she thought that it wouldn't be easy to move on and get used to the fact that he wasn't around. But unexpectedly life became more life-like and progressive without him.

The concept of love was never really clear to her. People said that it was very hard and heart wrenching to live without the ones you love. When Oliver left, she thought she would break down and  living without him would be very difficult.

Apart from the first two weeks, she never really missed him. She did feel bad sometimes but it wasn't so strong and she easily shrugged it away. This attitude of hers sometimes made her wonder if she really loved him or not.

Keeping all her thoughts and feelings aside, she kept waiting for him and also kept on convincing herself that Oliver was her fiance and she loved him. How could she not love the person she agreed to get married with?

A knock on the door brought her back to reality.

"Boss, the team is ready for the meeting," Helena, Vanessa's assistant informed her.

"I'll be right there." Shrugging away all the unnecessary thoughts off her mind, she grabbed her file and other necessary things which she needed for the meeting and made her way out of the office.

Twenty-eight years old Vanessa Greene, a resident of Chicago, a city in Illinois, was a smart, beautiful and hardworking woman.

Her greenish-blue eyes, lilac soft lips, slender eyebrows, velvety eye lashes and glossy skin made her look very attractive. Her midnight black hair flowed over her shoulder and a perfectly shaped body added to her beauty.
