25. Silas's Choice

Silas' footsteps were soft, almost imperceptible, as he left Nevea and Zach behind. His lips moved silently as he whispered a prayer for Nevea's wellbeing. Then, he sauntered away with a determined look on his face as he knew he had to choose a side by the end of the night.

Silas entered the throne room, and Levi was there, sitting lazily with his legs wide open as he watched the moon from the vast window.

"You are done early today." Levi greeted him without averting his gaze from the stunning light of the moon.

Silas took a seat across from Levi and probed a question. "I need your advice."

That completely caught Levi's attention. His body moved swiftly to face him, and his temple frowned. "You are the advisor here, and I am the king. You should be asking yourself."

"I am serious. This is between life and death."

Silas's darkening gaze and the deep, low rumble of his voice told Levi he was dead serious. The air became still and oppressive.
