Chapter 4 Zombie Treasure Chest

Just as Lucas York had expected, it did not take long before he saw more than a dozen zombies on the third floor of the inpatient department.

“Attack!”

Lucas commanded his Level 4 male zombie and his Level 2 female zombie.

Lucas was a little energetic. In the past ten days, he had been constantly sneaking around. He had experienced countless hardships, and now finally, the tables have turned.

Listening to Lucas’ command, the Level 4 male zombie and the Level 2 female zombie rushed toward the sixteen zombies.

Soon after that, the Level 4 and Level 2 zombies had successfully defeated the other zombies.

Among the zombies that were defeated, there were eight male zombies and eight female zombies.

Lucas fused the eight male zombies into a Level 4 male zombie, and the eight female zombies into a Level 4 female zombie.

Now there were two Level 4 male zombies, a Level 4 female zombie, and a Level 2 female zombie.

The two Level 4 male zombies could be fused into a Level 5 male zombie.

In the boxes in Lucas’ mind, he dragged a Level 4 male zombie onto the other.

In an instant, a Level 5 male zombie was born.

A Level 5 zombie was still an ordinary zombie. Once it reached Level 6, only would it be considered a high-level zombie.

Lucas continued searching for zombies in the hospital. However, much to his disappointment, there did not seem to be any other zombies left in the hospital.

Now, night had already fallen. It would not be appropriate for him to go searching for zombies outside.

Lucas found a relatively clean room, ordered the Level 5 male zombie, and the two female zombies to protect him, and then he went to sleep.

The next day, sunlight streamed through the window, shining onto Lucas’ face.

Just as he opened his eyes and stretched, the system’s voice sounded in his mind once more.

Ding…

“Congratulations, host, for obtaining three Zombie Treasure Chests.”

Lucas was taken aback for a moment before he checked it hurriedly. He found that there was a Level 5 Zombie Treasure Chest, a Level 4 Zombie Treasure Chest, and a Level 2 Zombie Treasure Chest.

“Host, zombies can drop treasure chests daily. The higher the zombie’s level, the better the items in the chest.”

The system helped Lucas to clear up his confusion.

Lucas listened to the system’s words, his expression filled with surprise.

Without thinking too much, Lucas opened the treasure chest dropped by the Level 2 female zombie.

“You have obtained 5 Gene Points, 5 Strength Points, 5 Speed Points, and 5 Defense Points.”

Lucas integrated the Attribute Points obtained into his body. The Level 2 Zombie Treasure Chest was not that impressive after all.

He immediately opened the Level 4 Zombie Treasure Chest.

“Obtained 15 Gene Points, 15 Strength Points, 15 Speed Points, and 15 Defense Points.

“Obtained two crates of food.”

Lucas felt that this was not bad, and integrated the Attribute Points.

He then opened the Level 5 Zombie Treasure Chest.

“Obtained 20 Gene Points, 20 Strength Points, 20 Speed Points, and 20 Defense Points.

“Obtained three crates of food.”

Once he integrated the Attribute Points from the Level 5 Zombie Treasure Chest into his body, Lucas once again felt a qualitative change in his body.

Lucas pulled up the properties panel again:

“Host: Lucas York.

“Age: 21.

“System: Super Fusion System.

“Realm: Level 2 Awakened One.

“Skills: Virus Immunity.

“Weapons: Cleaver.

“Gene: Grade C.”

Lucas pondered about how he was now a Level 2 Awakened One, yet he was just as useless as he was before.

A Level 2 Awakened One was comparable to a Level 2 zombie, he was nothing but an ordinary Awakened One. He would only be considered a high-level Awakened One once he reached Level 6.

Moreover, the ones greater than Awakened Ones were known as Evolved Ones. Those two could not be compared at all.

The higher their gene level, not only did it mean that they would have greater future achievements, but it also represented their strength.

For example, between a Level 2, Grade D Gene Awakened One, and a Level 2, Grade C Gene Awakened One, the latter would be stronger.

The grade above Grade C Gene was Grade B. To upgrade to Grade D Gene would be very difficult, but Lucas was not worried.

The zombies would drop Zombie Treasure Chests every day, and he could obtain Gene Points from within. To upgrade his Gene, it might be considered difficult, but he thought that it might be rather easy.

Then, Lucas started to worry. What was he supposed to do about the five crates of food?

It did not seem convenient to bring them along with him.

Ding…

“System Space unlocked.

“System Space capacity is 100.”

Lucas was delighted, he was just thinking about it. How fortunate for him.

He put the five crates of food into the System Storage. After a moment of thinking, he put the Level 5 male zombie, the Level 4 female zombie, and the Level 2 female zombie into the System Space as well/
