Chapter 8: Controlling Her Powers

Meanwhile at the hospital...

"Brother Vince, what happened to you?" Princess Ariya's tiny cries crisped on the four corners of the VIP ward.

Vince was lying unconsciously on the bed with a bandage wrapped around his body and on his head.

"Coach, how did this happen?" Halley was also shocked when she saw her son's condition.

It was not normal at all. It was a heavy fall at the basketball court but Vince looked like he had a car accident.

"Mrs. Mores, to be honest, we also have no idea. I just went back from the school a while ago and had checked the CCTV but it was something..." the coach was reluctant to tell what he had seen. He glanced at Vince and touched his forehead.

By that time, Jon had just arrived. When the principal of Crestview High told him about what happened to his son, he left his work at the construction site and drove off like a lightning.

"Please coach, tell us!" Halley was now panicking.

"What happened to my son?" Jon roared and couldn't help but to blame the school including the coach.

"Vince fell by himself," the coach whispered while he avoided Vince's parents' shocking stare.

"How could that be?" Halley gasped in confusion.

"Coach, what do you think of our son? A mutant? A person with a superpower?" Jon was so upset that he held the coach's collar and pushed him on the wall.

"Better have a good explanation about this, coach!" he said sternly while gritting his teeth.

"I wish I could also explain what happened!" the coach politely replied as he looked at Jon's eyes.

"Jon, please!" Halley begged her husband to control his anger. She held his hand that was holding the coach's collar.

"Mommy, daddy, brother Vince is awake!" when suddenly Princess Ariya exclaimed in relief.

She went beside him at once and her tiny palm touched his pale cheek.

Vince seemed to feel a warm and soft palm on his cheek that he slowly opened his eyes. When he saw Princess Ariya's worried face, he raised his weak hand that had an IV drip and cupped his adopted sister's face while smiling.

"Vince, how do you feel now?" Halley asked immediately.

"Son, tell us what happened?" Jon added.

"Vince!" his coach was also happy to see that he was already fine.

"Scott Thompson pushed me!" he said without any qualm.

The room suddenly quieted down. They glanced at each other with astonishment. Then they shifted their stare at the boy lying on the bed.

"Vince, Scott was very far from your position when you fell. How could that happened?" the coach explained.

"I am telling the truth. He pushed me. I also saw his eyes turned red!" he was now getting annoyed that his own family and his coach didn't believe him.

"Vince, the doctor said there might be some effect on your head when you fell~"

"Mommy, brother Vince is telling the truth. That vampire pushed him!" Princess Ariya exclaimed in anger this time and now everyone in the room was flabbergasted including Vince.

"Vampire?" they all asked in unison.

"Yes, that ugly Scott Thompson is a vampire and he hurt brother Vince on purpose!" she answered while giving her elders a sharp stare.

"Well, we should be careful then. Vampires are dangerous!" Jon tried to go with her flow thinking that she was six years old so her imagination was wandering everywhere.

"Yes, vampires can't stay under the sun, right?" Halley also added as she stroked Princess Ariya's head.

"He can walk under the sun and can't be burned because he is also half-human!" Princess Ariya kept on making their minds puzzled.

Vince and the coach were also getting dizzy with what they were hearing. Their eyebrows furrowed as they looked at each other.

"I need to rest!" Vince cut them all out.

"Brother Vince, I will stay with you. I will guard you day and night so that that ugly bloodsucker will not hurt you again!" Princess Ariya boldly stated.

"Okay! Okay! Be quiet then!" Vince just nodded to refrain her from talking.

When Princess Ariya climbed on Vince's bed, they were all again confused coz she just went up effortlessly.

"Arianna, be careful. You might hurt yourself or your brother!" Halley commented while holding Princess Ariya's tiny body.

"I will never hurt my brother Vince. I can't afford to hurt him, mommy!" Princess Ariya answered as she lay down and hugged Vince.

Jon couldn't say anything at all. The coach was also dumbstruck that he left the Mores family while shaking his head.

"How could that girl say those things? 'BLOODSUCKER?!" he asked inwardly. "Where did she learn that word?" he added as he strode towards the elevator.

"Okay, stay with me but behave. Do you understand?" Vince sternly said as he glanced at his sister who was lying beside him.

"Hmm. Don't worry. I will be quiet. I will just stay here to protect you from that ugly vamp!" she answered.

Both Jon and Halley were stunned by what happened to their family that day. Especially Halley whose expression was already unsettled since the time she saw the shattered glasses in their mansion.

.

At the same time in the stream...

Sira was worriedly watching Princess Ariya. The princess was clueless about the effect of what was coming out of her mouth.

She planned to see the princess but when she remembered that Scott's scent was strong, she withdrew her decision at once.

"I need a person at the mansion to control her!" she uttered in her thoughts.

As she scanned the people in Mores' household, she found out that Katrina, Princess Ariya's own nanny, had gotten the strongest connection between her and Princess Ariya.

At the mansion, Katrina was busy packing Princess Ariya's things for school when suddenly her thoughts were being blocked and her eyes formed a spiral.

"From this moment on, you are the loyal white wolves' servant. Control Princess Ariya's wolf instinct. When she turned ten or when she fully understood everything, tell her about her powers and teach her to hide them!" Sira spoke in her mind.

"Yes, Master!" Katrina replied.

Since then her actions and expressions had changed.
