Chapter 9: The Princess' Superpowers

Time had passed and Princess Ariya was now ten years old. Her power was starting to emerge. She had the combination of all of the superpowers of King Silas' loyal subjects except for Vashti's.

Her bluish-purple eyes could turn to a laser beam like Gasphar. She could move objects with her mind like her cousin, Rubio. And she was a siren, like Sira.

She might not be able to foretell the future like Vashti but she had gotten Vashti's strength and skill in combats. Of all the white wolves, she had the complete package!

On the other hand, Vince's plan to study in the US was granted. He was already sixteen years old and because of his good looks, brilliance, and height; most girls in the university chased after him. But there was one particular girl whom Vince liked.

That was Isabelle!

Isabelle was also like Vince. A genius at the age of sixteen. She was beautiful with long black hair and a skin-white complexion. She was tall and had a beautiful figure. She was also popular, especially among the male students.

Aside from Isabelle, there was another one particular female student who followed Vince wherever he went. Not for any admiration stuff but because it was her mission.

That was Ira!

Ira grew up more and more beautiful each day. Her snow-white skin and long blonde hair were perfectly matched to her tall height and slender figure. Just like Vince and Isabelle, she was also a brilliant person for Sira instilled everything she needed to do in her thoughts.

One day at Mores mansion, Vince called his mom through long distance.

"Mom, I am taking a vacation this Christmas!"

"That's wonderful news! Tell us the date of your arrival and we'll pick you up at the airport!" Halley happily replied.

"Alright! See you then mom. Bye!"

"Take care always! Bye!" Halley then hung up.

At the dinner table, Halley told Jon about Vince's arrival next week. He was glad to hear that his son would take a holiday in their mansion.

"Arianna, didn't you hear that? Your brother Vince will come home next week," Jon asked his daughter who was quietly eating at the table.

"Yes, daddy. I have heard. I can't wait to see brother Vince!" she said hesitantly. Her forced smile was written all over her face.

Since Vince went to the US, she tried to talk to him on the phone and video calls every time he called in the mansion. But his cold attitude towards her when he was still with them got even colder as years passed by.

Princess Ariya was also aware of his activities every day. She knew that he liked a certain girl named 'Isabelle'. Whoever that girl be, the princess had a hidden grudge on her. Since then, she also kept her distance from Vince.

Every time Vince called, she would either be at school or hiding in their maze garden. It had been two years that they had never seen nor talked to each other.

"Arianna, aren't you happy that your brother Vince will come home?" Halley asked when they saw her nonchalant look.

Princess Ariya then lifted her head and stared at her non-biological parents.

"I am happy to hear that brother Vince is coming home, mommy. I can't wait to see him!" she smiled at them.

"That's wonderful to know. When he was still here, you kept pestering him. Don't you remember that?" Halley continued to remind her about those happy days they shared.

The couple was aware of Vince and Princess Ariya's sudden coldness to each other. They also knew that the princess didn't like to talk to her brother every time he called.

"Yes, mommy! I still remember that. I have many homework today. Daddy, mommy, I am finished eating!" she politely replied then gracefully left the dining room.

Both Jon and Halley were dumbstruck by her reaction but they just shook their heads and continued eating.

Two days before Christmas came, Vince had arrived. It was Jon and Halley who picked him up at the airport. While they were driving, Jon explained to Vince why Princess Ariya didn't come.

"Your sister said she had a stomach ache that's why she didn't join us to pick you up!"

"That's okay, dad!" Vince respectfully uttered as he smiled at his parents who were sitting in front of him.

They were riding a white Mercedes-Benz Pullman at that time.

But when he shifted his stare outside of the window, he muttered in his thoughts, "I am not also looking forward to seeing her again!"

When they arrived at the mansion, the servants bowed at them. They took Vince's luggage and placed them in his room.

"Katrina, where is Arianna?" Halley asked when she couldn't see her daughter.

"She is at the maze madam. She is playing with her puppy!" Katrina gently answered.

When Vince heard that his sister didn't really mind his arrival, he strode straight to his room and locked the door.

He was about to change his clothes when he heard a giggle outside of the window.

He took a peek in the direction of the sound and saw his sister whom he had never seen for two years running in the maze along with a white puppy.

He was stunned by what he saw. His cute little sister had changed in a sudden period of time.

Her height had increased as her body was slowly developing into a teenager. Her long blonde hair had turned to its real color, a corn candy. Her snow-white skin was glowing under the gaze of the sun. And her giggles, he couldn't explain it but he would love to hear them again!

He had no idea that he had been watching her with a smile on his lips for about half an hour now.

When Princess Ariya felt that somebody was staring at her, she looked up on the second floor of the mansion. She saw her brother watching her from the window of his room.

Their eyes had met. Vince's brown eyes were glued to her sister's dark bluish eyes. He was completely bewitched by her stare that he couldn't take his gaze off her.

Till Princess Ariya's eyes squinted and went back to her puppy who was wagging its tail waiting for her attention. She took the puppy, carried it in her hands, and walked away.

Vince was dumbfounded by her disdainful reaction towards him. His eyes also narrowed as he slid the curtain and stepped back.

"What's her problem?" he asked with annoyance inwardly.

When he went downstairs, he saw Princess Ariya talking with Katrina. They were so focused that they didn't hear his footsteps.

"This midnight, we will go to the forest. We should train your eyes with the darkness!" Katrina whispered.

"Okay!" Princess Ariya simply replied.

"Why are you taking her to the forest in the middle of the night?" Vince's angry voice sprang behind them.

The two were startled that they had both lost their voice.

"Don't bring her to any places that are dangerous if not I will let you be replaced!" he warned Princess Ariya's nanny.

"Why are you threatening my nanny? She didn't say anything wrong?" Princess Ariya walked in front of them and held Katrina's hands.

"Arianna!" Vince exclaimed.

"Arianna, it's okay. It's my fault!" Katrina smiled apologetically.

"Don't argue with your brother about this. Just let him talk!" she warned her internally.

With that, Princess Ariya frowned at Vince even more. She took Katrina's hand and pulled her out of the living room.

Vince was left alone with a sharp stare. As he placed his hands on his waist, he took a deep sigh and turned around.

He took the phone in his pocket and dialed Isabelle's number. But even before the girl could answer, his phone burst out in flame which made him jump to his feet and scream.

"What happened?" he exclaimed as he glanced at his phone that was turning to dust on the floor.

Katrina covered Princess Ariya's eyes and hid her at the back of a sycamore tree near the mansion's gate.

The princess was burning in anger as she pursed her lips. She just burnt Vince's phone using her laser beam eyes.
