Chapter 7: Deep Connection

In the kingdom of vampires...

"Your half-bred heir had smelt the enemies' key of existence!" Augustus, the king of Vampire spoke.

He was sitting on his throne while his son Damien was kneeling before him.

"Yes, my king. Her scent had unfolded the entire stadium!" Damien reported.

He was talking to his own father but he still had to bow his head before him. Not because, his father hated his half-human grandson but because he wanted to show to his vampire clan that in their blood, there were no such things as a family!

"Then bring forth someone to follow that scent!" he roared as he rose from his throne.

"Yes, my king!" Damien left immediately.

Upon shutting the arch-shaped wide door, king Augustus turned to a bat and went through a small hole down to the alley of the ancient palace.

He transformed into a vampire upon his black boots stepped on the cold brick ground. The place was a prison full of mice and webs. Obviously, the prison had not been occupied for a long time.

With the sway of his hand, the mice and webs disappeared like a whirlwind. When his black eyes turned into bloody red, an iron door in front of him was slammed open.

"Silas, my servant has found the treasure. How do you feel about that?" he sneered at the half-naked man full of dried blood all over his body.

He was so weak that the chains that were tightly locked around his wrists were dragging his blood-dried hands. His body was almost dropping on the cold ground. His legs half knelt as his feet were widely spread. His head that was full of blood was bowing but when he heard his enemy's voice, he slowly lifted his face that showed a terrifying glare. His eyes were sharper than a dagger and shinier than a needle.

"You will never find my child, Augustus. No matter how many spies you are going to send in my kingdom!" he voiced out with a weak but stern tone.

Even if he was brutally tied by the vampires, his aura as the mighty king of the rare white wolves was always exhibited.

"Your child? Silas, according to Anton, your child is the princess!" King Augustus roared telling him that he knew the treasure was a girl.

"Anton? Him?" King Silas whispered as his breath was tightened. His weakness was when his own blood or clan betrayed him or his pack.

King Augustus laughed. His voice escalated the whole cold and empty prison underground.

"You have no knowledge about it? Your north pack has been serving me for years. The birth of your princess is the only reason why they stay hidden as my spies in your kingdom!"

King Silas sneered at him. One thing King Augustus didn't know was the connection of loyal wolves packs. It was strong and bonded.

Since Anton and his clan became spies, the link between him and the other packs was torn down.

Therefore, everything they were talking about at the moment was being heard by his loyal subjects; the high priest, Rubio, Gasphar, Vashti, and Sira.

Upon hearing the king's command, they gathered in their thoughts.

"The treasure is safe for now but we have to be vigilant!" the high priest started.

"High Priest, what do we need to do?" Rubio asked.

"Rubio, someday you will follow your cousin in the human world and help Sira protect her!" the high priest instructed him about his plan.

"What about the queen?" Vashti asked.

"The queen's body can be hidden in my place!" Gasphar suggested.

"High Priest, what if Princess Ariya's wolf instinct would appear earlier than we expect?" Sira suddenly asked.

"Sira, what do you mean?" Vashti focused her mind on Sira.

"Her wolf instinct has been emerging little by little and the people in their mansion are already alarmed. Last time, her siren voice had almost made the place a total mess. At her age, she can already jump high and carry a person with her bare hands!" Sira explained.

"She is the princess after all. But her powers will never develop rapidly until she reached her budding age!" the high priest stated.

"For now, we can't do anything about it. But we can control her movements and hide it in the human sight!" he added.

"Yes, high priest!" Sira replied and bowed. She left in their thoughts after.

"Vashti, I know you are the one who burnt the portal. Why did you do that?" The high priest declared which made Rubio and Gasphar exclaimed in disappointment.

"What is your purpose of doing that?" Gasphar asked.

"It's for the princess' safety and future. You allowed her to be brought upon in the hands of humans! ~" Vashti said.

"She was brought to the human world to keep her safe!" Rubio also disapproved of Vashti's decision.

"That's the only way to the human world!" Gasphar was roaring in anger in their minds.

"My friends, I am not your enemy here. I also like to preserve our white wolf pack. But you forgot, I also have the ability to see the future!" Vashti defended herself.

An eerie silence suddenly emerged in their thoughts.

"Vashti, what did you see?" The High Priest broke the ear-piercing silence.

Everyone this time was quiet and would like Vashti to continue.

"Princess Ariya will choose her own path. If she will marry the boy, she will live in the world of humans and her innerwolf  will disappear. But if she will come back, she will die in the hands of the vampires!"

The King's loyal subjects couldn't fathom what Vashti had just disclosed.

"If she will stay in the mortal world, we will never see her again!" Rubio uttered with a hint of sadness in his voice. That was his only cousin. A so-called remembrance in the family of the king.

"Yes! That's why she is the only one who can choose her path. Her chosen path is her fate!" Vashti lastly stated before she left in their thoughts.

When Vashti left, both Gasphar and Rubio also disappeared. The only one who remained was the high priest.

"My friend, you have heard everything!" the high priest said while his eyes were still shut.

"I have. Protect yourselves. I am coming back!" King Silas announced.
