I checked my phone again. No message. That wasn’t like Lianne. She always called me before heading to her part-time job. Even if it was just a short call. She didn't like wasn't money on transportation, so I'll always drop her off whenever I'm free. I stared at the screen, then dialed her number. Switched off. My grip tightened. “That’s not like you,” I muttered. Something felt off. I had been feeling it for a while now. That quiet unease sitting in my chest. I grabbed my keys. “I’ll just go get her.” The drive to the pack house felt longer than usual. My unsteady fingers tapped lightly on the steering wheel. I coughed into my fist and wiped my lips quickly. “Not today.” I whispered. When I got there, the first thing I noticed was how quiet it was. Just as I stepped out of the car, the front door opened and the pack doctor walked out. Sweat covered his forehead. He looked like he had just run a race. “Doctor?” I called. He froze for a second before turning around “Oh… Kaelion.” “What happened?” I asked, walking closer. “Why do you look like that?” He forced a smile. “It’s the future Luna. She isn’t feeling well.” I blinked. “Future… Luna?” He nodded quickly. I think I could sense some pity in his eyes. I wasn't sure. “Yes. She's unconscious.” I frowned. Before I could ask anything else, he hurried away. I stood there, confused. Future Luna? If the triplets got a mate, they wouldn't keep it quiet. Except it was recent. My eyes narrowed at the thought that crept into my mind. Before it could sit, the door opened again and this time it was Cassius. His face was dark, his eyes sharp. The moment he saw me, he looked surprised, then strode over. “What did you do?” he demanded. Before I could react, his hand grabbed my collar and pushed me against the car. “What the hell is going on with my mate?” he growled. I froze. “Mate?” My brows pulled together. “Lianne?” I asked. His grip tightened. “Yes, Lianne!” he snapped. “What did you do to her that night?” I raised my hand to his wrist to steady myself. A cough slipped out and my hand shook against his wrist. His lips curled slightly. “Pathetic,” he muttered. More footsteps approached, Darius and Luciam came into view. Darius stopped beside Cassius, his cold gaze fixed on my face. Lucian stayed a step behind, “Let him go,” he said. Cassius didn’t move at first, he turned to his younger brother with a questioning gaze. I don't know what they said through mind link, but he released me. I adjusted my collar and took a small breath. Mate… I looked at them. “You don’t get to call her that.” The words came out more steady than my hands and breath. Darius’s eyes darkened. “What did you say?” his voice dared me to repeat my words. “I said none of you have the right to call her your mate.” There was silence. Darius released his Alpha aura but it didn't work on me. Alpha aura never worked on me. This was something I had in common with Lianne. Cassius took a step forward again, but Lucian held his arm. “Wait,” Lucian said quietly, his eyes still focused on me. “Explain,” Darius said through gritted teeth. I exhaled slowly. “She got hurt,” I said. “And none of you cared.” Cassius frowned. “What are you talking about?” I clenched my jaw. “When she needed people the most… you weren’t there.” My calm voice had weight. “You made things worse.” Cassius paused for a second before his hand dropped, though his eyes was still fierce. Darius didn’t speak. He was trying to make out the truth in my words. I didn't need to lie. Lianne's attitude shows everything, if I had hurt her, she wouldn't be close to me. Lucian’s gaze sharpened. They were thinking now. But it was too late. Cassius shook his head slightly. “Stop speaking in circles. What happened to her?” I looked at him, at Darius, then Lucian. “It’s not my place to say,” I replied. Since she didn't tell anyone, then they have to wait until she wanted to talk about it. Darius stepped closer. “You don’t get to decide that.” “I do,” I said, meeting his eyes. “Because it’s her story. Not mine.” I shifted my gaze past them, toward the house. “Where is she?” I demanded. None of them answered. That alone told me that something was wrong. I took a step towards the door, but Cassius moved in front of me. “You’re not going anywhere,” he said. I looked at him. “Move.” “No.” I didn’t raise my voice. “I’m not asking.” Honestly, if they were bent on not letting me see her there was nothing I could do. With my current state, I couldn't even take on an omega. I was no different from a human. A terminally ill one. “You'll see her.” Darius said. “Only if you tell us what happened that night.” I gritted my teeth. I knew there was no way I'll see her today. “You can think about it.” He said, before walking away. His brothers followed right behind him. I glanced at their backs with a scoff and went back to my car closing my eyes tightly. I was trying to communicate with Lianne through mind link. I wasn't supposed to use mind link. Oy would harm my body a lot. But I needed to be sure she was okay. The first few minutes of trying was a failure because she was asleep. I pushed harder into her unconsciousness. Only strong mate bonds could do this, but somehow Lianne and I also could. Her subconscious was a mess. And it hurt to see her reliving her worst nightmare. “Lianne.” I called softly, barely holding on. She didn't answer, she was running from something. “Anne. It's me.” I said once again and this time she paused, looking around for my voice. “I'm here for you. You just have to open your ey—” The connection broke and i started coughing violently, I brought the handkerchief to my lips to collect the blood that was coming out. I got out of the car and moved towards her window. I wanted to be closer. This will help me connect with her again. My eyes closed once again, but before I could try using the mind link, Lianne's voice came to my ears. “Kai!” My name. Sharp and desperate. Relief hit me so fast it almost hurt. She was fine now. I don't know what happened in there but the next thing I heard from her was, “Don’t—” her voice shook. “Don’t touch me…”Kaelion Once I was sure that she was fine, I dragged my broken body back to my villa.Something was off. I could feel it. Usually my joints didn't hurt so bad until few hours to the full moon.I sat on the couch, trying to ignore it, but the feeling in my body wouldn’t go away. I coughed into my fist and pulled my hand away, my eyes falling on the blood sitting on my palm.I sighed and wiped it on my shirt. Leaning back into the couch, I closed my eyes but then my fingers twitched. At first, it was just uncomfortable. Then it became more intense. It spread through my hand so fast it made me suck in a sharp breath. My fingers started bending, slowly, like something inside them was forcing them out of place.“No… no…” I whispered.Another crack followed, louder. I grabbed the edge of the couch, trying to steady myself, but it didn’t help. The pain climbed up my wrist and into my arm. It felt like my bones were shifting under my skin, like they were trying to become something else.A s
Lianne I didn’t know how long I had been asleep. Or what even happened. But when I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw made my chest tighten. The triplets. All three of them were standing around my bed. Watching me.One of them moved closer. His hand lifted, like he wanted to touch me.I flinched. “Dont— don't touch me.” The disgust came fast but I forced my face to stay blank.Something flashed in Lucian’s eyes. Hurt? I didn’t care.“What are you doing in my room?” I asked, my voice came out dry.“You were unconscious all night,” Lucian said. His voice was softer than the others. “We were worried.”I looked away from him. “I’m fine now,” I said, my teeth clenched. “You can leave.”Darius shifted beside him. I could feel it. He didn’t like my tone.Cassius looked worse. His jaw was tight like he was holding himself back.“Here,” Lucian said, stepping closer. “Take this. The doctor left it for you.”I glanced at the pills in his hand. I took them, swallowed, and opened my mouth slig

Lucian The crash from the door snapped every head in the room toward it. My wolf rose instantly.Cassius was already growling low in his throat. Darius’ shoulders stiffened beside me, his aura leaking into the room like a storm waiting to break. The door creaked open wider. Two figures stood there. Lysa and Eirene, Darius’ girlfriend.Although we knew that Darius only kept her around and their relationship wasn't really that of a girlfriend and boyfriend, we had a mate now and I didn't want her anywhere near our mate. For a moment no one spoke.Lysa’s eyes were wide, her hand covering her mouth as she stared at the scene before her. Lianne lying pale and motionless on the bed, three Alphas surrounding her, the doctor hovering nervously at the side.Eirene stood beside her, perfectly dressed despite the late hour, her golden hair falling over one shoulder. Her eyes, however, weren’t on Lianne. They were on Darius. An almost imperceptible tightening of her lips betrayed the storm brewi
Cassius The moment she collapsed something inside me snapped. I caught her before she hit the ground. Her body was too light, too cold.“Lianne.” I called gently. No response. My wolf snarled violently inside my head. Mate.“I know she’s our mate!” I barked back.Darius stepped closer, his aura suffocating the air around us. Lucian looked like he was about to lose his mind.Blood stained Lianne’s lips. “She's biting her tongue” I muttered, earning a growl from the other two. I lifted her in my arms and took her to her room through the back door. The last thing I wanted right now, was curious gazes trailing behind us.No one noticed the figure staring from the other side of the house. My brothers followed closely behind. This was our first time in her room in two years. It looked different now, smelled different. The scent made me uncomfortable. As I laid her down on the bed, my stomach twisted. Her face was pale, she looked so weak.Rejecting an Alpha hurts. Rejecting three? That ki
Darius The noise from the party was extremely annoying. I didn't want to be here but my parents had insisted that I and my brothers attend. In addition to Lysa’s birthday, they were also having a farewell party. After today, they would no longer take part in the decision making of the pack.My brothers and I had become the alphas of the pack two years ago, but my father still helped with pack matters since we had to attend college. My mother also played the role of Luna, because we haven't found our mate. A lot of girls try to throw themselves at us everyday but my brothers and I already had our eyes on someone else.Lianne. When my parents first brought she and Lysa to the house, my brothers and I didn't like them at all. One was mischievous and the other was too timid. But as time went on, we came to like the mischievous Lianne. She was very sharp tongued and each time she's bullied or angered she reacts in the most unexpected ways.I remembered the time she hid frogs in my room on
