Chapter 5: The Mate Reveal

Calla’s POV

I didn’t drive home with the triplets. Instead, Elera and I took public transport, chatting and laughing, the city passing by in a blur outside the window. It was a small relief to avoid the suffocating presence of the triplets for just a little while.

When I got home, I was told they were holed up in the game room, probably trying to one-up each other in some ridiculous competition. I stormed in, slamming the door behind me with a satisfying thud.

“Warn your girlfriends to stay the hell away from me,” I snapped, letting my voice echo in the vast room.

The three of them looked at each other, then burst out laughing.

“So, you’re intimidated by them?” one asked, amusement lacing his words as he leaned back in his chair.

“I can’t even imagine her face confronting them,” the other added, chuckling.

I froze for half a second, realizing I may have underestimated just how relentless they could be. My lips curved in a tight smile. Patience, I reminded myself. They’re only making it worse for themselves.

I returned to my room, letting the door click shut behind me, and changed into something comfortable.

For the rest of the week, I avoided riding with them, slipping through the mansion and school routines with calculated subtlety. My mother noticed but I brushed it off.

“It’s nothing,” I assured her, flashing a small smile.

Friday evening, the Beta arrived to perform the initiation ritual for the Pack’s mindlink. As soon as it was complete, I immediately connected with Elera, her excitement practically buzzing in my mind.

“Now you’re a full member,” she teased.

Saturday morning, my mother and the Alpha left for their honeymoon, but not before the Alpha had summoned the royal fashion designer to bring over racks of gowns, dozens of them, all exquisite, all worthy of a ball.

I spent the rest of the day trying on gowns, twirling in front of mirrors, marveling at the silks, lace, and beading.

Each dress was more beautiful than the last, and I couldn’t help but smirk at the thought of stepping into the ball fully armed in style.

I exhaled and flopped onto my bed, the soft sheets embracing me. Over eighteen now, just like my classmates, just like my mother once was. It was time. Time to step into the world of packs, balls, and… finding mates.

Some people find their mates sooner than others. Some never do. I wondered, idly, if mine would appear at the mating ball. Would it be someone I already knew? Or someone completely unexpected?

Sleep came eventually, but my dreams betrayed me. It wasn’t a random dream, it was a memory, sharp and vivid, of that one night I couldn’t forget.

His gentle touch, the faint scent of him, the way his lips had found mine so tenderly. The way our eyes had locked as he thrust into me gently across the hotel room. My moans, his low groans, the heat that had passed between us, it all played out again, relentless in my mind.

I didn’t notice that one hand had wandered to my breast, the other brushing over my panties, until my eyes snapped open.

I shook my head violently, trying to banish the memory. “What the hell is wrong with me?” I muttered, cheeks burning.

I shouldn’t be thinking like this. Not about him. Not anyone. Yet the memory refused to fade.

I went through dinner in my room, refusing to meet the triplets. The next day, when the time for the ball drew near, there was a knock on the door.

Elera stood there, eyes bright with excitement.

“You have so many beautiful gowns,” she exclaimed.

I looked at her and smiled, “You can pick anyone, if you like.”

She raised an eyebrow. “Any gown? You sure?”

I nodded with a smile.

She blinked, surprised. Then happiness flooded her face. “My mother is sick… my father saves every penny for her treatment. I could never…” Her voice faltered.

I placed a hand over hers, warm and steady. “I’m so sorry about that. But tonight, let yourself shine. You deserve it. I’m sure your mother will be fine in no time.”

Her eyes glistened, and she nodded, breath catching as she picked a gown. It was a beautiful pink ballgown, delicate, shimmering lightly with stones, soft enough to make her glow.

I wanted to wear that gown, but seeing that she loves it, I allowed her to take it. Elera’s face lit up like the sun, and I felt a warmth spread through me.

I went for the black ballgown with touches of gold, elegant, and dangerously magnificent. Standing in front of the mirror, I let myself imagine the night ahead.

We spent what felt like hours perfecting our hair and makeup, every curl, every shimmer in place. By the time we left, the night air was crisp, the city lights glowing faintly in the distance as the driver drove us to the school hall.

On the way, Elera leaned closer, her voice teasing. “You know… I think Fenrir likes you.”

I chuckled softly, brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. “He’s just being nice,” I said, though a small warmth spread through me.

She laughed, a soft, melodic sound that made me feel lighter.

When we arrived, the room practically paused. Every eye was on us. By now, I was used to attention, but it still thrilled me in a strange, electric way.

Then I saw the triplets. All three. They stood together like shadows of power and perfection, clad in black suits with golden bow ties. My chest tightened. Anger flared immediately, sharp and hot. How did we end up eating the same colour. Ugh.

Before I could stew too long, Fenrir approached, looking dashing in a white suit that perfectly contrasted the triplets’ darkness.

“You both look amazing,” he said.

He offered his hand. Elera nodded eagerly. “Go ahead, Calla,” she whispered.

I smiled, letting my fingers slide into his. As we took over the dance floor, my mind cleared. Fenrir’s movements were smooth, confident. He led, I followed, and for a moment, the triplets, the stares, the entire world faded away.

After the dance, I moved toward the refreshment table, heart still fluttering. And then they were there, three shadows at my side, cutting through the crowd like predators.

“Stay away from Fenrir,” one said, his voice firm, authoritative. It had to be Riven. I could tell.

“Why?” I asked, lifting an eyebrow, letting a spark of sass color my tone.

“Don’t ask silly questions,” another said. Lucien. Playful and dangerous in the same breath.

I froze for a split second. Wait… I’m starting to tell them apart? The subtle differences, the way Riven carried himself, the mischievous tilt of Lucien’s lips, the quiet, calculating glare of Darren, they were becoming unmistakable.

My heartbeat skipped, nerves and frustration tangling.

Then, the clock struck midnight. A sharp, crystal chime echoed through the hall, and the full moon reached its peak outside, washing the room in a silver glow.

Through the mindlink, Sue’s voice trembled with excitement. Mates.

I blinked. “What?” I whispered, confused, my voice barely audible.

I looked up, and that’s when I saw it. All three of their eyes turned purple, glowing with unearthly light, fixed on me.

I gasped, stumbling back a step, chest tightening, breath catching in my throat.

All three. All of them. My mates.

The world tilted for a second. My mind raced. My wolf howled silently inside me, a wild, ecstatic cry. Desire, fear, and shock collided in a whirlwind of emotion.

“This can’t be real…” I whispered to myself. But the fire in their eyes and the pull in my chest said otherwise.

Every thought, every heartbeat screamed the truth. I was theirs. And they… were mine.

They seek validation through force.”He didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he took a step closer. • The Triplet's Sin    Chapter 1: A New Pack

Calla’s POVI stood at the wrought-iron gates of my future stepfather’s castle, momentarily frozen, my breath caught somewhere between awe and disbelief.Wealth had a presence. I’d always known that in theory, but standing here, staring at marble columns that kissed the sky and glass walls that reflected the afternoon sun like polished mirrors, I felt it. This wasn’t just a house. It was a statement. Power carved into stone and steel.I had never imagined beauty like this could exist outside of magazines or whispered fairy tales. The villa castle was enormous, sprawling across manicured land that seemed to stretch endlessly, every blade of grass trimmed with obsessive precision.Ten years ago, my parents’ divorce had stripped life down to its bare essentials. My mother had raised me alone, juggling long shifts and exhausted smiles, doing everything she could to make sure I never felt the weight she carried on her shoulders. We’d lived modestly. Warm, but simple. Love-rich, money-poor.
