Chapter 5: Collapsed 

“Can you tell me your name?”  Dustine ask her while staring at her face. Her innocent and fragile face.

“It’s you...”

Dawn whisper instead, her voice full of fear because of him. She knows that the two of them are not human creature, but she’s not sure if he is like her or the other way around.

“Wow…. I can’t believe that I’m facing a monstrous creature,” she murmured with a smirk now. She just realized that a him, maybe can be named a monstrous but he seems so vulnerable at the moment and she assume that he can’t hurt her.

Dustine was taken a back for what she said. In his mind; “I thought this girl is nothing but a weak creature but I was wrong. She knew that we have a kept secret and it’s dangerous if that will go to my grandfather. It will cause all of us a harm…. This girl should be out of my sight.” He smirked also in return.

“I knew what was in your head.” She murmured because it’s true. She has the ability to read minds but only if she allows her mind to read.  

He scoffs. “Well, likewise, silly girl. Who are you?” he asked again. 

He stands from the ground, put his hand on his pocket and stared at her inwardly. He is trying to her mind for him to know what will be his next move on her. No doubt he pitied her because of her fragile state but at the same time he is eager to know her more. 

“Will you accept the fact that we are just the same?” Dustine lazily shake his head. “NO. because you are not one of us. You are not like us. State your name and place, can’t you?” he asked instead.

“Fine. I will… but c-can… can you do me a favor?” Dawn almost pleading. She wants him to have sympathy on her. 

In her mind, she wants to get out in that dungeon and get back to her friend, Xio. She already pictured out, what her friend face is, full of anxiety and worry. Just like the typical Xiomerrah, when she gets out without her knowledge. Her thought read by Dustine and he already know what her possible favor is but he remained silent and wait her to speak up about the favor. 

“I want you to help me… help me get out of here.” Her voice is now confident. Really wanted to get a help from him.

He playfully scoffed and turn around, now having a dark aura. His protruding attitude. It’s like he let her know that he is dangerous and not kind of creature she is thinking he is. He’s trying to imitate the leader his grandfather wants him to be.

“Do you at least know who I am?! I’m a goddamn master here!!! And… and you’re asking a favor like that to me?! How dare you?!” he shouted. “Woman, you enter our territory just because you are curios and know what? I didn’t know you at all. You are not my friend nor my family to do a favor!... You enter here by yourself so, might as well find yourself a way to get out of here if you want so. But I highly doubt that you can escape here, woman.”  He said with a smirk on his lips.

Dawn crawled herself back, finding a good distance with him because his words are hard to accept by her system. She doesn’t know that he is a Master of the creatures she’s dying to see. But his words really scared her.

Before she can utter a word for another convincing words for him to let her go, she suddenly collapsed. 

Dustine panic for a sudden event. But he knew he shouldn’t let any guards see the situation because there is a chance that it will reach to his grandfather.

“M-Miss?” he delivers as he goes near her to check and wake her up.

 As the time that he touched her, he immediately pulls his hands off her because he felt like touching a fire, just by touching her skin. He feels pity again for her, he tries again to wake her up but she didn’t flinch even for a bit. 

So, he picks her up carry her like a bride. Her weight is just like a paper for him, he suddenly wonders if she eats or not. When they reach the infirmary, which he made sure that no one saw them aside from the nurses that duty in the place. He knew what he did have a consequence, once his grandfather finds out. 

“Nurse, don’t ever disclose about this and never let anyone to spread this,” He said at the nurse.

“Yes. Of course, Master. But can I know what happened to her first?” 

“She passed out at the dungeon.” 

Because of fear the nurse turn around to face Dawn who’s face is pale, lying on the hospital bed.  Dustine made himself comfortable by sitting in a chair beside the bed where she was lying.

The nurse checks her vitals before giving her a treatment. 

“Can she woke up at this moment?” Dustine asked like a curious kid. 

The nurse faced him. “I don’t think so. The patient is under fatigued so, she passed out. By any chance tomorrow she can wake up. And I guess she is suffering from hunger before, it’s one cause why she is here.” She informed him. 

Dustine can’t help to feel amuse of she said. His amuse expression is the other way around than it’s real meaning. He can’t believe that she is starving herself to death and she is exhausted by the sudden capture of her because of them. 

He can’t help but to feel guilty.

“Thank you. Please go.” He commanded and the nurse herself obliged. 

When the nurse is out of his sight, he faced palm herself. 

 For a moment, he realized what he said at Dawn and it send him guilt. So, when Dawn woke up, he carried her without saying a single word. He carried her until they got out of the property. 

Dawn on the other hand, felt amuse by his action. They are now in the middle of nowhere forest. That’s when everything sink-in for Dawn. He literally gets her out of their territory. 

When Dustine’s breathing lowered down, she made Dawn stand at the ground. 

“Thank you.” Dawn sincerely uttered. “I’m Dawn Pauline. It’s nice meeting you…. Dustine.” she adds up.
