With hope, I waited for her to pick up the call but it only just keeps on ringing. Then I thought she must be inside the mansion’s premises so I just hang the call and leaned the back of my head on the trunk of the tree behind me. I shut my eyes tight and knocked my head against the trunk as I savor the bitter taste of impatience growing in my chest, not wanting to think that I, also, was trapped on this turf because of Ava’s incredulous lies. When I opened my eyes, my brows automatically frowned that Ava was already standing in front of me, staring at my face with her innocent eyes as if she had never done something that ruined my Uncle’s trust in me.
