After breakfast, we pile back into the car, Antonio driving and me in the passenger seat. Nicholas is in the backseat, leaning forward to run his hands through my hair. One of Antonio's hands is on my thigh, my hand on top of his. I look down at his hand as he drives us to the doctors office. Why is it that I never realized that we don't have rings? "Do you think you can look for something with, like, a Jack and Jill bedroom in it? I think it would be so cute for the twins. "Of course, now go before your Uber driver leaves you." She laughs, and with a smile thrown my way she gets into the car. The car peels out of the parking lot. Nick pulls up in the spot the Uber had just been in. He jumps out of the car and rounds the front to open the door for me, his phone pressed against his ear. He smiles down at me, and I smile back. I get in quickly, not wanting to interrupt his call. It is late, nearly eight. Amanda and I had talked for hours. Of course, I left a hefty tip for the waiting staff for letting us stay without complaint. Nick closes the door after me and then rounds the car again. Taking his seat, he ends the call and throws the phone into the cupholder before turning to face me. "Hey, baby." I lean over to greet Nick with a kiss. "Hey, darling. How was dinner?" I buckle in my seat belt and he begins the drive back home, one hand going down to cup my thigh immediately. I smile down at his hand and place my own on top of his. "It was great.

I look down at Caroline with a smile. She had fallen asleep downstairs after our second movie, and we had carried her upstairs to the bedroom. It was odd, not ending the night buried inside her.
