LOGINKAYLA
“We’re here!” Maddie exclaimed. I must have been spacing out, because I didn't even realize we've already arrived at the church where my sister is about to get married. A sea of people gathered outside at the entrance, all dressed in shades of champagne and gold. The women wore long dresses that shimmered gently, and the men were in sharp, well-fitted suits. Since the driver was still looking for a parking spot, I stayed inside the van, taking a quiet moment to observe everything from my seat. Everyone seemed to be smiling and chatting excitedly, their voices blending into a happy hum I couldn’t quite catch. I spotted my mom among the crowd, speaking to a man whose back was turned. Even from this distance, I could see the joy on mom’s face–the kind of joy that radiated straight from the eyes. Of course she was happy; one of her daughters was about to marry one of the richest men in the city. I watched as the organizer approached my mom to say something. Mom then pulled out her phone and tapped quickly. Moments later, my phone began ringing. I haven't checked it since the shoot ended, but from the look on her face, I figured everyone had been looking for me. I let the phone ring without answering. I'm here anyway. “I’ll carry your stuff, so feel free to join your mom and relatives over there,” Maddie said. I just nodded at her before the van door opened, revealing me to the public. I put a smile on my face as I looked at the people ahead of me. Kayla Danes, the actress, is back on. “Oh, finally!” mom said, relief flooding her voice. “Sorry, the shoot took longer than expected,” I replied with a quick kiss on her cheek. I smiled at the people watching me, recognizing some familiar relatives and others I didn’t know. Likely members of the groom’s family, judging by their elegant dresses and glittering jewelry. At least the wealthy ones had etiquette. They didn’t swarm me like my fans sometimes did. I adore my fans, but boundaries were not always their strong suit. Being around these people is definitely a breath of fresh air. “Is it starting?” I asked the organizer. The woman checked her watch, then her iPad. “Right on time.” And as if cued by a movie director, the bridal car pulled up and stopped in front of us. I was supposed to be in that car with my sister, but my schedule didn’t allow it. So I started walking towards her as the organizer gathered the guests to give them instructions. “Hi,” I greeted Casey, who looked like an angel in her satin off-shoulder dress. The soft V-neck and gentle shine of the fabric made her glow, as if she had stepped out of a fairytale. I felt my eyes sting with tears. “You look so perfect.” “Oh, thank you, Kayla. Please don’t make me cry,” she said with a laugh. I fanned my eyes, trying to hold back the tears. “And I’m so glad you made it on time!” I laughed. “Now, let’s get you married!” Casey nodded excitedly. We stepped out of the car, watching as the crowd began to settle inside. When it was my turn to walk, I squeezed Casey’s hand one last time before moving away. Just like earlier, I walked down an aisle with everyone’s eyes on me. But this time, I know most of the faces watching and this time, the moment felt real, even if it wasn’t my wedding. Some cameras were still pointed in my direction, but I didn’t mind. As I slowly reached the altar, I saw Jordan standing there waiting. There was excitement and joy in his eyes, exactly the reaction I had hoped for. I smiled at him, and he returned it with a smile and a salute, the way he always does whenever we see each other. After seven years with my sister, he had become really close to me, like a true brother. Then my gaze shifted to the man standing beside Jordan–his best man. I've never seen him before. Jordan had mentioned he traveled often. The man caught my glance, and the way he looked at me made me scowl a little. I couldn’t read his expression at all. Perhaps he recognized me from my movies or endorsements. That was nothing new. When I reached my spot at the front, I could still feel his eyes on me. I turned slightly, and sure enough, he was still watching. It feels as if his gaze never left me once. I raised an eyebrow. He smirked in response. It was… odd. I quickly looked away, trying to ignore the strange exchange. Then the opening notes of 'Forevermore' filled the church, and everyone rose to welcome the bride. Everything else seemed to blur around me as my focus was now solely on my sister. The singer was singing the song soulfully, as Casey stepped inside, glowing from head to toe. Cameras clicked and flashed, but all I could see was her joy, her excitement, the moment she had dreamed of since we were young. We used to talk about this day when we were younger. We both dreamed of marrying someone we truly loved and who loved us even more. My sister is finally getting her dream come true. As I watched Casey walk down the aisle, I couldn’t help but smile through the tears. I didn’t even care about how my make up would look after this. I'm just so happy for her. Even if my own heart was quietly breaking. I stole a quick glance at Jordan. His eyes were fixed on his bride, full of love and devotion, and I could see the certainty in his gaze. He’s absolutely ready for this, ready for the life they would build together. And even though my own happiness felt far away, I found comfort knowing my sister would be deeply loved and well cared for. Abbie, one of the bridesmaids, gently handed me a tissue. “You need it,” she whispered with a smile. I murmured thanks and dabbed carefully at my face. When I lifted my gaze again, my eyes met the best man’s from across the altar. He was looking at me again, this time, his eyes filled with concern.CORVINI watched her back disappear into the bathroom. For a second, I just sat there on her sofa, my hands resting on my knees, staring at the door. The silence of Kayla’s apartment felt heavy, a sharp contrast to the ringing in my ears that had been there for the last hour.I let out a breath I felt like I’d been holding since I left my office. My heart was still thumping against my ribs–not with the panic from before, but with a strange ache I couldn't quite name."Not pregnant," I whispered to the empty living room.I should have felt like I’d just dodged a bullet. I should have been jumping for joy, ready to celebrate my freedom and the fact that my life wasn't about to change. But as I leaned back into the cushions, I felt... weird. Disappointed? No, that was a crazy thought. Why would I be disappointed? My mind drifted back to how this chaos started.I had been at my office, scrolling through my feed while waiting for the time when I had to leave, when I saw the headline and a
KAYLAMy back was against the door as my tears continued to fall. This day was just too overwhelming. It was supposed to be a chill day for me, but because of one photo, everything was ruined. My mood was ruined. My career was almost ruined. At this point, I don’t know how to explain it to Corvin. I’m afraid he’s already seen it, and I’m scared of how he might react. I know I said whatever is going on between us is just for fun, but I still care about his feelings. He’s a friend now, and he’s been so considerate of me.I picked up my phone, still sitting on the floor, and dialed Casey’s number. It rang for a long time, but she didn’t answer. She must be busy. Maybe she isn’t on her phone, or maybe she hasn’t seen the article yet.I was about to dial Corvin’s number when my mom’s name flashed on the screen. I closed my eyes tightly, inhaling and exhaling to prepare myself for whatever she was about to say. When I felt ready, I answered. The first words out of her mouth were, “Are you p
KAYLA“What are you doing here?” I asked the moment I recovered from the shock. I wanted to ignore him and just go inside my apartment, but he was blocking my way, so I couldn’t even open the door.He looked at me, and there was something in his expression–curiosity, anger, shock… I couldn’t even distinguish it.“Are you pregnant?” he questioned, and my brows instantly knitted together.I tried walking past him, even bumping him a little in my quest to open my door. “What are you talking about?”I inserted my keys and pushed open the door, pausing before entering, contemplating whether I should invite him inside or not. Of course, I didn't want to, but I don't think we should be talking in the hallway.“People are talking about it online,” he replied.I went in anyway, and he followed.“What?!”I got my phone and turned on the Wi-Fi. The moment I did, notifications flooded in.“Oh God,” I murmured as I took my seat on the sofa.I tried to check each notification, but there were just t
KAYLAI’ve never been this excited to get up in the morning. Even though I had a very late night on set for a photo shoot and barely got any sleep, I feel strangely energetic. I feel as refreshed as if I had just woken up from a perfect, eight-hour sleep without any interruptions. I feel as satisfied as if I had just eaten the most delicious meal in the entire world. For the first time in a long time, it feels like I don’t have a single problem to deal with. I reached over to my bedside table, grabbed my phone, and saw a message from Corvin. It was just a simple "good morning," but it was enough to make a smile spread across my face instantly. My day was already off to a great start, and that message made it even better. I have to be honest: when I first met Corvin, I was intimidated. It’s hard not to be when you’re talking to the heir of a multi-billion dollar corporation. But as I’ve spent more time with him, I’ve realized that he is so much more than just a fancy title or a big b
KAYLA“Someone looks happy,” I heard Alvin say from behind me.We were on set, and since I wasn’t needed for the current scene, I retreated to my tent to rest. I looked back to see him grabbing a stool. He set it down nearby and sat, facing me with a knowing grin. I couldn’t help but smile back, which only deepened the curious look on his face.“So,” he started, “what happened?”Lately, Corvin and I had started texting. It wasn't the kind of constant back-and-forth that left you glued to your phone, but we kept each other updated throughout the day. According to his last message, he was currently at his office, reviewing contracts and signing papers. His daily routine sounded exhausting to me, but he never seemed bored. It was as if he were tailor-made for that world. Thinking about it now, I realized the corporate life really did suit him.I glanced around to make sure we were truly alone before leaning in to tell Alvin about last night. I kept the details PG, even if Alvin’s express
CORVINThe windows were foggy, and the air inside the car was warm and thick. I stayed close to Kayla for a minute, just listening to her breathe. Every time we’re together like this, it feels like the world stops. Finally, I moved back. The cool air from the AC hit us, and I saw her shiver. I grabbed her dress from the floor and handed it to her."We should get moving," I said, my voice a bit raspy. "As much as I’d love to stay here, this road isn't as private as I pretended it was."Kayla laughed softly and started getting dressed. "You’re the one who said no one would see us, Corvin.""Yeah,” I replied. “I lied because I wanted you," I teased, climbing back into the driver’s seat.Once she was buckled in, I started the car and pulled back onto the road. The headlights cut through the dark woods. For a while, we were quiet, just enjoying the peace. But soon, I started thinking about what happened on our last night in Thailand."I’m still annoyed about Derek," I muttered, shaking my
